Hi all, I've been following the tribe group on Facebook for a while but just wondering if anyone here has tried it. I can't seem to get to the bottom of what they advise, seasons etc. Is there something similar closer to London. And she keeps advising chunky trainers, is this a thing now?

I understand that her posts at the moment may be helpful for some and that is very much a good thing. However, I really struggle with those being 'lighthearted' during these times. For me it feels as though it's completely ignorant of the situation we're in, and / or are about to be in. That's not a criticism, it's just my personal take on things. I find the jovial stuff patronising right now.

Also I think Susie needs to realise she isn't the little fashion business with a few hundred followers on FB and insta anymore. She has nearly 30k followers on Instagram. When you get to that level, you're going to get heat from some no matter what you post - it simply comes with the territory. Of course it's not nice. But if you're going to lose your shit every time someone says something not so kind, then you just don't have a thick enough skin for that kind of social media presence.

Completely agree. That, coupled with the fact that she doesn't have a particularly high tolerance for 'unkind things' is a recipe for disaster

FlasknTea · 22/03/2020 08:38

I think I said earlier in the thread that she comes across as quite fragile. It shows with this reaction to the 15% thing. I mean, come on the gesture is a good one. However any reaction can be nipped in the bud with a "no problem, you deserve a discount too" then it's a win, win. It's still money coming in. I have to say that those complaining are like a bunch of spoilt toddlers. Can't they just respectfully request the same discount, if they feel they deserve it? Do you think she'd refuse? No! I wonder if those complaining would actually order, if she turned round and said, oh sorry, here's your discount. She's actually in a better position than some small businesses because she can offer onlines. She could also do some Skype coaching. An hour of coaching for 30 quid or something. The client tries on some outfits, Susie gives her advice, etc. She should look into different business ideas to expand the biz. There are loads of ideas. Makes me wonder just how well she is being advised? Would some of the business biggies justify their discounts? No. Plus by getting her friends to back her up: her coach for example, doesn't put her in a good position. She needs a thicker skin IMHO.

I doubt the buisness will be that great atm tbh.

amy85 · 22/03/2020 08:58

Love Susie...loved my analysis...love most the new stylists....however what annoys me is how she tries to say she is a size 16....no chance! Just because you own a size 16 lacy bodysuit from New Look (she showed the label to prove she's a size 16) doesn't make you a size 16

outofyourhands · 22/03/2020 11:52

@amy85 This also pisses me off. Although I've noticed she's recently stopped claiming to be a size 14/16. I remember her showing another label in Topshop as proof; fitting into size 14 jeans in Topshop does not mean you're a standard size 14 for fucks sake.

Notredamn · 22/03/2020 13:02

I think the offer was a bit misjudged, I'd have thought the key workers she was aiming for would have bigger fish to fry at this particular moment in time. 'How deep can I dig when I can't physically help the number of people who are going to die before my eyes as we don't have the resources required in this crisis, and btw will I catch the virus and infect my children?' Versus 'I wonder whether a clunky or a dainty shoe is best for my shape so I can slay my new jeans?'. But it was a gesture all the same. Susie should have ignored the naysayers and left them to look all the more pathetic without ammunition.

Coffeeandbeans · 24/06/2020 23:33

I’ve had an online analysis and a make up analysis. For the money I think they are fine. I use the colours and shapes as a guide. It has explained why some things have never suited me. I’ve bought a few lipsticks and the first time I wore one to work I was told how lovely I looked that day. I’m not keen on all of the stylists but I would expect that - we all have different tastes and are different ages. I like that she attracts a wide range of women. If I don’t like an outfit that someone has posted I will say that but in a constructive way. I think she is great at boosting women’s confidence and that really isn’t a bad thing in these times.

weareyoung · 25/06/2020 08:54

I'm shocked at the prices of the new 'services' she's just announced Hmm

Parentinglark · 25/06/2020 09:39

I am glad I am not the only one whos shocked. I thought that was very steep for whats on offer. The only thing I wasnt sure about is whether the prices also includes the items. Like do they buy the items on your behalf & get them delivered too you but cant see how that would work. Or is it literally an email with links to items? £30 for scarf & jewellery recommendations is very steep IMO

WowStarsWow · 25/06/2020 09:39

Me too, especially the “styled 3 ways” for £50! I can only imagine how generic those are going to be. I challenged my sister to give me an item from her wardrobe to style 3 ways and I did it in half an hour with links to all the items (affordable and available in her size).

Plus surely if there’s an item in your wardrobe that’s that hard to style, you’d just realise it’s maybe not really for you? Style shouldn’t be difficult, no need to throw good money after bad. And given the budgets of a lot of people in the group, I think most would baulk at having to spend £50 just to be told what items to then spend further £ on.

MoltonSilver · 25/06/2020 10:22

This thread isn't headed anywhere good. I'm sorry I read it. It's not a big company that's being discussed it's an individual and it feels wrong.

weareyoung · 25/06/2020 10:44

@Parentinglark You literally pay for links to items, not the actual items.

weareyoung · 25/06/2020 10:46

@MoltonSilver What's the problem with discussing individuals, then?

This thread has discussed every element of the SBS business. There were posts that overstepped the mark and they were removed. It's been a really balanced and interesting discussion.

Possiblywickedandlazy · 29/06/2020 19:53

I am on the Facebook group and my main issue is that they get people’s body shapes or seasons wrong more regularly than is ok. Sometimes I’m looking at the posts of people who have been analysed and thinking “ok... it it’s really obvious that that woman is not an hourglass/winter/whatever” and that’s not fair because those women have spent a lot of money to be told that they should wear certain shapes or colours that don’t really do anything for them.

Coffeeandbeans · 29/06/2020 22:13

I’ve never noticed that they have got the shapes and colours wrong. I’ve only seen lots of confident women posting photos of their new clothes.

Which is brilliant obviously. She is clearly giving women confidence which is always a good thing. But they are paying for a service and the basics should be right.
Sportycustard · 29/06/2020 23:16

@MoltenSilver but it's not an individual is it? It's quite a large organisation with multiple stylists which charges for a service?

I've just left the "tribe" group. The advice seems to be the same no matter what size or shape someone is - white chunky trainers with everything, doc marten sandals, slogan t shirts, belts and mad earrings. I've not seen anyone post a photo of any outfit that is office appropriate so it must be for people who don't work. I'd love to have a styling consultation but none of her advice would fit into my life unfortunately.

One positive was that it's mostly high street stuff so at least it's accessible if it's your thing.

Parentinglark · 29/06/2020 23:32

This last 2 weeks I ve noticed this especially woman being a annalised as hour glass when they are clearly not.

mammaboo2 · 10/07/2020 09:58

Hi. I am new to this site. I did a search for SBS reviews and could only really find things on here.
Last year I paid for the online analysis. I was so excited to get it and was especially looking forward to all the positive and wonderful things that people had said they had in theirs. I think I had one line commenting on my hair colour or something. The rest did not feel perosnalised at all but I was really pleased ro know my shape and season. The recommendations for makeup etc were very welcomed though.
I found that i really struggled to find anything that suited me using the tips in the analysis, so for a big birthday earlier this year, I treated myself to an online shop. Again, I was so excited as everyone kept posting about their shops and how they had loved everything in them and ordered them all.

I was so disappointed with mine, by this I mean I had hoped to see some items where I would go "oh my goodness yes...i love this but never imagined it would suit ME"... I tried to post on the page asking if anyone else had felt this but of course it was declined. I was told someone would contact me personally - the reply was one sentence.
I have struggled for years with my style, not knowing who I am anymore and needed a push in the right direction as I had become so comy in leggings and hoodie. I ordered a couple of things from the online shop and I LOOKED AWFUL.
I feel so let down. Is it just me? It must be as everyone else seems to have such positive experiences on the page. I feel like it is all just me.
Not having a pity party, i am just trying to understand.

ChequerBoard · 10/07/2020 13:00

I have similar views to others here. I joined the FB group because I've lost a lot of weight and feel a bit 'lost' as to what I can/should wear now that my options are wider than just black leggings and a tunic.

I haven't seen anything that encourages me to part with my money, so many of the people you have been analysed look like they have been told the wrong season/shape. Most people seem to think they are an hourglass and a lot of them clearly are not. Also the seasonal colour palettes seem a bit off, e.g. a lot of people who say they are winter are wearing what I would see as muted autumn colours?

I have always wondered if I was told the incorrect shape. I did question it but was assured it was right. It is just the things that have been recommended look awful and are not flattering at all. I just feel I have wasted my money.
Plancina · 10/07/2020 15:45

There’s a lot of very overweight people who have large stomachs being told they’re hourglasses. I have felt like posting a picture of an hourglass on there to see if Susie knows what one looks like. I’m overweight myself and don’t want someone tell me I’m an hourglass to make me feel better, I want actual genuine advice.

lockdownalli · 10/07/2020 15:50

This does sound like it really doesn't suit everyone. I did my colours online and came out as a summer and I do think those are the colours that suit me best.

Have any of you tried Stitchfix or Lookiero as a less risky alternative to SBS? I hadn't heard of it but signed up to Stitchfix after reading about it on another thread. You give the stylist absolutely tonnes of info about your likes and dislikes, styles, neckslines, sleeves, colours, patterns, Whether you want party clothes (unlikely at the mo!) office wear etc, Whether you want skirts/dresses/tops.

You set the price point and say how adventurous you want to be. I set myself as wanting to be a bit stretched but not too far and I had a box of five bloody amazing items that I really love. I kept them all which means you get a 20% discount.

I have set it to receive another box early autumn but you can set it yourself. You get the £10 styling fee back if you keep one item. Also, you get £15 off by following a referral link. Here is mine - others are available! Free delivery and returns too.

Did I read somewhere the other day that they were going to start offering online bra analysis / fitting? Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, but I was HmmHmmHmm
