I look forward to September and the change in weather move to autumny clothes.... I don't know why but I really, really fancy some super leather cowboy boots... plus pinafore dresses :)

I have just bought 2 pairs of ankle boots from Clarks (well actually my dad is giving me one pair for my birthday next week).

£69 each.. the Verona Trish in dark tan & the Verona Rock in black.
Both have a block heel but are really comfortable to walk in.

I wouldn't usually spend that much but my old black ankle boots hurt my feet & my old New Look grey ankle boots have fake fur on which I get a bit tired of.

I'll wear them with jeans, skirts & dresses, they'll look good for day & evening wear.

@BenWillbondsPants I will report back, you're a bad influence 😁

I've ordered this. I saw it in RL but it wasn't in my size. I have high hopes because it looked gorgeous

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 13/08/2019 20:37

Just walking home from a physio appointment and it's feeling distinctly autumnal already!

BenWillbondsPants · 13/08/2019 20:49

@LuxuryWoman2018 Sorry, not sorry! Grin

LuxuryWoman2018 · 13/08/2019 21:42

@BenWillbondsPants 😆
I’m sure I will be pleased with it, I was going to buy a new coat but to be honest we don’t often get a long stretch of really freezing weather do we? Just drizzly murky weather. If it does get very cold I simply won’t go out! I do have a parka that I can use for extreme cold.
Anyway, point is I’ve actually saved money by not buying a coat and I might have spent more on one so as you see I’ve been thrifty. Well done me.

Lumene · 13/08/2019 21:58

If it does get very cold I simply won’t go out!

Grin Love this.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/08/2019 09:28

@Lumene 😆
I can talk myself into things pretty easily, hope it arrives soon, the weather is not what August should be.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 14/08/2019 09:56

LuxuryWoman2018 - you know you've just jinxed us all and we will have a long hard winter now!

The rain mac I had my eye on isn't available in petite in my size! I'm most annoyed the DCs had to be fed when I was about to order it on line so left it a couple of days... Now I'm grumpy.

On the upside, I have a new handbag being delivered today, it's terrbly mumsy, but I ummed and arhhed when it was full price, left it and it sold out in the shop I was looking in, then found it in the House of Fraser sale, so have ordered!

PeriComoToes · 14/08/2019 09:57

Very autumnal dress IfIShouldFall thanks the link, never heard of that brand, looks good.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/08/2019 11:24

Item has been dispatched email came, very excited.
Hope you love your handbag disgruntled

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/08/2019 11:28

Lovely colours in that dress, IfIShouldFall )and great name - bloody love that song!

StCharlotte · 14/08/2019 13:09

Thank you Ellapaella, you have just found my winter coat. Now what colour...?

Atalune · 14/08/2019 13:25

I had a little play around with some existing clothes yesterday and have found my trusty old/soft lovely cashmere crewneck from M&S.

Wearing it over lots of my summer maxi/midi dresses looks good! I’m so pleased.

I’m trying to buy second hand, less or borrow from friends. Sort of a clothes swap.

IfIShouldFallFromGraceWithGod · 14/08/2019 13:32

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie
You have good taste in music and in clothes Wink

happytobemrsg · 14/08/2019 14:03

I want to see if I can find jumpers which can go over my midi/maxi dresses @Atalune. Should they be a bit cropped? I’m pear shaped so I tend to vent my flowy dresses quite high

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/08/2019 14:13

If anyone finds or sees slim fit black boots let me know, it’s still a bit early I guess. I’m fancying myself in the mac with perfect boots. I totally forgot about a pair of leather gloves I have so that’s a bonus, I didn’t wear them last year I don’t think.

I have a jacket which has a one popper fastening which is loose, I hope fabric glue fixes that as it’s too thick to sew through the material.

Atalune · 14/08/2019 14:39

So for me I am an inverted triangle, and I find a slim fitting jumper that sits on my waist or a cropped sung jumper works best for me. I think that a more cropped/fitted shape would work for you and show off your definition of waist/hips.

My waist is nonexistent so anything longer with a floaty skirt makes me look huge and like a big boxy oblong.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/08/2019 14:41

IfIShould Grin

The weather here is vile today, but it's quite nice that it's cool enough for jeans.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 14/08/2019 20:14

@Atalune - I need to do that, spend some time trying on my autumnal/wintry things and work out where the wardrobe gaps are.

I think it might be safe to pack away the shorts now...

happytobemrsg · 14/08/2019 20:16

@LuxuryWoman2018 I love my black cady belle boots from Clark’s. My legs are slim & they fit lovely

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/08/2019 20:17

DisgruntledGuineaPig did your new bag come ?

You know we might get a last blast of summer still

happytobemrsg · 14/08/2019 20:17

I’ll have a try, thanks @Atalune

LuxuryWoman2018 · 14/08/2019 20:19

@ happytobemrsg I just saw your reply, thanks I’ll take a look, I don’t want boots gaping around my calves

cheesenpickles · 14/08/2019 21:11

I've thrown a bit of caution to the wind and signed up to try a stitch fix box. Put in loads and loads of details, linked a Pinterest of things I like, looks I like and I'm going to get sent 5 bits of clothing to test next week. Probably going to hate them all but for £10 thought it'll be an interesting experience. Anybody tried a device like this and been happy with it?
