I look forward to September and the change in weather move to autumny clothes.... I don't know why but I really, really fancy some super leather cowboy boots... plus pinafore dresses :)

Nothing from charity shop rummage unfortunately and boots not in the shops yet, I tried a different town today but still jumble saley. I guess once the kids are bathe stock will update.

EnidButton · 12/08/2019 18:47

Oh god, it all sounds gorgeous! Autumn textures and colours are the best.

I'm doing my annual browse of the 'Boots' sections of all the shoe shops. I love them all but particularly want some flat boots this year. Preferably brown. Didn't have much luck finding any last year so ended up buying a pair that had a chunky heel. They look good and are fairly comfy but not quite right for trekking around country villages and towns.

Do we know when stores get their full Autumn ranges in?

EnidButton · 12/08/2019 18:52

I want a cape!

And pink silk pjs!!

I had a try on last night and realised I have two dresses from last year that I didn't wear and a berry coloured faux suede biker jacket from French Connection that I only wore a coupe of times. So feel like I have a couple of new things already. The jacket is a gorgeous fit and so soft I have to stop myself stroking it when it's on.

I want some brown ankle boots that have a bit of a 'Victorian street urchin' vibe. Been looking for several years, but not found my dream pair yet.

Woodlandwitch · 12/08/2019 20:30

Love this thread. Reading it has made me
Feel all warm and fuzzy at the thought of autumn coming

Woodlandwitch · 12/08/2019 20:31

In fact today it was 17 degrees and I felt quite happy that it was more like September temperatures.

Fazednotc0nfused · 12/08/2019 21:05

I’ll be wearing skinny jeans / jumper dresses with my long boots www.valverdebotas.com/en/urban-boots/207-boot-kate.html

Or my short boots www.rocketdog.co.uk/products/shayne-black-heeled-ankle-boot

Wolford faux suede leggings which I love and were a charity shop bargain www.wolfordshop.co.uk/clothing/trousers/velour-leggings/19171.html?dwvar_19171_color=8218&nsctrid=v02_uk_g_g_314794403882_&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIte_c9o7-4wIVhLTtCh089gm8EAQYASABEgIGsPD_BwE

Oversized jumpers, especially cashmere.

High top trainers on dry days.

Want to try and experiment more with accessories, just bought these earrings

Love summer though so hope we get a few more weeks

Sigh81 · 12/08/2019 21:40

I wear my cape all the time Fabala. Had it a few years and still going strong!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/08/2019 23:01

I really hope that I can find some jumpers in nice fabrics but not cashmere (too warm for most things).

TapasForTwo · 12/08/2019 23:08

Love those ankle boots Fazednotc0nfused. I have some very similar ones that I bought from M and S a couple of years ago.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 13/08/2019 08:57

There’s 25% off Tu until Monday apparently, I really rate their soft skinny jeans.

I need to spend an afternoon going through my wardrobe and see if anything needs buttons stitching or sprucing up in anyway.

happytobemrsg · 13/08/2019 09:04

My Autumn wardrobe this year will be:

Long flowy dresses (thin layers underneath)
Grey/black/khaki jeans
Plain jumpers I can half tuck
Black/tan Chelsea boots
Faux leather jacket
New Burberry bandana scarf

At home I wear printed leggings (think check or houndstooth, not leopard) with boxy jumpers.

goose1964 · 13/08/2019 09:06

I'm looking for a dress for my granddaughter's christening apart from that it's all about clothes I already own

cheesenpickles · 13/08/2019 10:07

Absolutely desperate for a faux fur leopard print coat. I've listed over having one for a few years but never quite got round to getting one. In the process of purging my wardrobe and moving to a capsule wardrobe. I'm also after some brown/tan cowboy boots, a new belt (reversible Gucci Marmont is the ideal) and the perfect pair of high waisted jet black skinny jeans.

Atalune · 13/08/2019 10:44

cheese I got a leopard faux fur coat from BooHoo in the sale a few years ago. It’s highly flammable Grin but looks great with almost everything. And it was cheap- £20 I think.

cheesenpickles · 13/08/2019 11:06

It's just one of those timeless pieces imo. My husband always says stuff about Bet Lynch but I def see myself more as Kate Moss (maybe with some Joe Lycett too Grin).

Lumene · 13/08/2019 11:17

I would love a leopard coat, but they just make me look like a rapper. They look great on some people though.

Lumene · 13/08/2019 11:18

That cape is amazing @sigh81 where is it from?

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 13/08/2019 11:46

Cowboy boots? Really? I love a Western as much as the next woman but surely cowboy boots are agony to wear?

You need to find a pair which fit you properly. If narrow toes don’t suit you look for ropers or boots with round or square toes, there are lots of other toe shapes than really pointy. Western boots fit differently to other boots, they should be firm over the instep and loose in the heel. You can always go up a size or half size and see if that’s more comfortable.

I have lots of pairs and wear them all the time - I treat them just like any other boots, you don’t have to cowboy them up.

cheesenpickles · 13/08/2019 11:49

I always size up my cowboy boots and wear them with thick socks. I've had some cracking vintage ones in the past and find them really comfortable. I've got some lovely black western style ones from Free People and they are so comfy.

happytobemrsg · 13/08/2019 12:19

If you’re still looking for long dresses for autumn @Lettherebelight I like the tiered smock dresses from New Look. I have it in green, black & animal print.

managedmis · 13/08/2019 12:27

I bought two beautiful fine knit sweaters, one a lovely teal 'chain mail' type fabric and one that's royal blue. Both deep neck and long sleeved, can't wait to wear them with jeans and boots.

Also bought a very deep black slash neck top yesterday, 3/4 length sleeves, perfect for autumn.

managedmis · 13/08/2019 12:28

Omg capes!

Morgan12 · 13/08/2019 12:33

Autumn for me is all about dresses with ankle boots and tights.

Also love over knee boots with leggings and long jumpers.

And scarves. I love a scarf.

JMAngel1 · 13/08/2019 12:54

@managedmis. where did you get your jumpers from ? please can we have a link? they sound gorgeous.
