Should I keep these shoes?

Picture 1: example of 2 pairs of Clark's shoes. One pair (the beige shade) I am currently trying to rescue as they are grubby. The other pair are in good condition.
Pros: comfortable, soft, reasonable height heel, good for work as practical and close toed.
Cons: are they ugly as fuck?

Pic 2- impulse buy from eBay. Never worn from NEXT.

Pros- not sure?
Cons- are they ugly as fuck?

Do I keep these? I have no other sandals for work so that is a consideration. May be more to come as I'm sorting through my wardrobe!

Pic 1 - the uppers are ok and fairly on trend (although square toes rather than round toes like these) but the soles/heels are really ugly. What's with that weird cut in two places? The black leather really draws attention to the ugly soles, maybe the beige ones look better as the difference won't be so obvious?

Pic 2 - not a fan. That's a very frumpy colour. Are they big enough for you? It look like your heels might hang over a little at the back?

But, as with everything on S&B, if you like them, that's all that really matters.

OhTheShoes · 01/08/2019 19:12

My thoughts exactly! You are right, the beige ones are better because the contrast between the sole makes them less noticeable! I have already binned picture 2 Grin

Sorry, I’m not if fan of any of these. They’re all old fashioned, there’s much nicer stuff in the shops OP.

OhTheShoes · 01/08/2019 22:14

I know, it's just affording them at the moment! Sigh

The Clarks ones are awful, never seen anything like those before (sorry). The sandals are better but still ugly.

I agree that there are much nicer shoes out there OP.

BubblesBuddy · 02/08/2019 02:25

Bin all of them. So many nicer choices out there.

Bookworm4 · 02/08/2019 02:28

Keep if you’re 85 and shuffling round your care home, if not BIN ASAP

Ah @Ohtheshoes - I think with right outfit and if comfortable the closed toe shoes will work - I think all open toed shoes do look better with a pedicure / painted toenails. Probably doesn't sound great but I think both could work in the right circumstances but I would say the closed toe ones look nicer. All best to you & I think no need to spend a fortune. If you already have those shoes and can make them look nice with whatever else you are wearing I would say do it if they are comfortable ( but then I have reached an age where comfort counts with shoes Grin The days of me wearing 4" heels are sadly over - ha ha ha

Haha thanks guys! I haven't actually worn the Clarke's ones this year! I think my head was on practical mode when I bought them! I will get rid of them once I have a replacement Grin

They are all ugly as fuck. Run away from these shoes!

Ellapaella · 02/08/2019 11:54

What's your budget? There are loads of summer sandal sales on at the moment. Also have a look at Deichmann - they have a huge range of affordable sandals and footwear.

OhTheShoes · 02/08/2019 14:37

I don't tend to spend more than £30 on a pair of shoes and they need to be close toed. The joys of practicalities!

What about these? I could get away with these for work...

Honestly, where are you finding all these ugly shoes?

AnneKipanki · 02/08/2019 15:01

If you have not worn the impulse buy ones , chuck .

tierraJ · 02/08/2019 15:03

Sorry I don't like them.

Bookworm4 · 02/08/2019 15:07

Deary me, these ones are hideous as well. What do you wear to work? What age are you?

OhTheShoes · 02/08/2019 15:51

I am 37. I have to dress conservative for work so usually black trousers and a blouse. I tend to wear pretty blouses from Monsoon/Zara. I agree they aren't great but I actually can't find a pair of close toed sandals that are beautiful or fashionable!

I'm clearly just an ugly shoe magnet. Feel free to bestow upon me some fashion advice regarding close toe/practical sandals!

I'm so sorry, but they are all ugly as fuck. I really am sorry Blush

You're only 37, there are 100s of lovely shoes and sandals out there.

Bookworm4 · 02/08/2019 16:13

ASOS DESIGN Lifetime pointed ballet flats
Do they need to be closed toe? Heels?

PullingMySocksUp · 02/08/2019 16:14

When we say bin the unworn ones, we mean charity shop?

Shoppingishardwork · 02/08/2019 16:16

Do you have to wear heels? Imo flats are so much nicer.
