Should I keep these shoes?

Picture 1: example of 2 pairs of Clark's shoes. One pair (the beige shade) I am currently trying to rescue as they are grubby. The other pair are in good condition.
Pros: comfortable, soft, reasonable height heel, good for work as practical and close toed.
Cons: are they ugly as fuck?

Pic 2- impulse buy from eBay. Never worn from NEXT.

Pros- not sure?
Cons- are they ugly as fuck?

Do I keep these? I have no other sandals for work so that is a consideration. May be more to come as I'm sorting through my wardrobe!

They all look like slippers!

Shoppingishardwork · 02/08/2019 16:19

Have a look at the Next forever comfort range.

StormTreader · 02/08/2019 16:19

These are my current work shoes, seriously comfortable (although a fraction wider in the toe on the left would be nice!)

Pic 2 better than pic 1. I’d wear them but not to work (and definitely not if wearing black trousers) - but definitely wouldn’t wear pic 1 ever. But then I would never describe myself as fashionable so probably shouldn’t be giving fashion advice!

Nesssie · 02/08/2019 16:27

I actually don't mind the first ones or the deichmann ones as work shoes. I think they would be fine for a summer wardrobe, with a skirt or 3/4 for example.

Bookworm4 · 02/08/2019 16:40

Croc work shoes? Nooooooo

Potatopia · 02/08/2019 16:41

Keep one pair, but only for putting the bins out.

Some ideas that your granny wouldn’t wear

The only people who should wear crocs at work are those whose job is in an operating theatre. I'll grant you that crocs are easy to was blood and guts off, but beautiful they are not!
OP, the beige shoes are passable but the others are not nice. Sorry.

OhTheShoes · 02/08/2019 16:47

Bookworm - they are nice. I have to have rounded toe as points really hurt my feet.

No they don't have to be heels, I prefer no heel to be honest.

Only one place for them. The bin.

OhTheShoes · 02/08/2019 17:23

Thanks both, espadrilles would be deemed as too casual. As would slingback mule types.
I think the ones from ASOS are probably most suitable!

HundredMilesAnHour · 02/08/2019 17:33

Slingbacks are too casual but the shoes you posted originally aren't?? I'm very confused now.

OhTheShoes · 02/08/2019 17:36

Sorry, I would only wear the black pair in picture 1 to work. I get away with it because it is proper "leather" on the top. To be honest I probably only just scrape in there!

I like these from ASOS:
Picture 1 for work
Picture 2 casual? Or are the ones in picture 2 deemed as ugly? I really like them with jeans!

Much better choices!! 👍🏼👍🏼

OhTheShoes · 02/08/2019 17:48

Oh good, though I doubt they would last me more than a season if I was lucky! I am so heavy footed Shock

HundredMilesAnHour · 02/08/2019 18:45

Picture 2 are espadrilles which you said were too casual for work? Or are these for non-work? I think I give up to be honest.

OhTheShoes · 02/08/2019 18:47

I said:
Picture one for work
Picture 2 - casual?

Meaning they are for casual wear! Anyway, I think I have the shoes.

Thanks all!

Honestly, I’d ignore comments about them being ugly. They look fine to me and, really, who goes around looking that closely at other people’s shoes?Confused I suspect you’re quite similar to me and need a bit of a heel and wide fitting, so very few of the ‘deemed acceptably non ugly’ shoes would be comfortable. Comfort is the main priority for me. I work with so many women who wear beautiful shoes but who are in agony in them-don’t see any men in the same boat. FWIW simplybe do a huge range of wide fitting shoes from all sorts of companies-I’d have a look on there with your size and width. They have lots on sale, too. Good luck!

InsertFunnyUsername · 02/08/2019 18:55

The beige ones aren't terrible, if you like them they are worth trying to rescue.

I think the others should go to a charity shop.

sparklefarts · 02/08/2019 18:57

37?

Pick up the shoes, walk to the bin, put them in and do not look back.

Haggisfish · 02/08/2019 19:01

Although now I’ve got lost down a zolando rabbit hole of wide shoes, tooGrin
