Waaahhhhh! Want that cord skirt now. Stop it....

dontcallmelen · 27/08/2019 09:28

Ooh Laska tis all lovely, another scorcher here as well I’m already hot.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/08/2019 09:29

Its nice here. Not too hot. Just pleasant and a wee bit hazy😁

justilou1 · 27/08/2019 10:52

Gorgeous things, Laska! Totally with you ladies on the over 55’s guff. Katherine Tate spoke very eloquently about her lesson on this subject at drama school when she was on Graham Norton. Her inspiration for “Nan” comes from this day.

I was excited to get the long sleeve Kensington but somehow it’s just too much. Too much fabric, too long (a good few inches longer than the summer one), too dense a pattern, too black. I’d wear it with black ankle boots but they are still at home, but even with sorting the footwear, it’s not quite right

And here are the leather jackets. The black (with quilting on the cuff) was a £75 Tu Premium one via DD. The blue one is Hush at £265. I hate to say it but with my eyes closed I can’t tell by touch which is which. I’m not sure that the navy is different enough to justify. What do you think?

The one on the left on my screen is Hush.

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 27/08/2019 15:30

There ARE obviously subtle differences in the finish between the two. The hush one has a two way zip, the pockets are zipped rather than slits, there is a zipped inside pocket etc. But the navy is very dark. Hmmm. Can’t decide.

ilovecherries · 27/08/2019 15:31

They are both 12s. The Tu one has had three years of pretty constant wear so is stretched a bit. Would I be better spending the money on a wool coat.

Huffthepuff · 27/08/2019 15:39

Hmmm.... I do think the fit of the Hush one is better. It looks better being neater on your arms. It's heavenly. I see what you mean about it being dark though, I would have said it was black from that photo. I say keep, sorry Cherries!

Laska2Meryls · 27/08/2019 18:04

Hmm difficult cherries they do both look good, .. what does your gut feeling say?

They are more expensive ,(f course they would be!) but I do really likethe jigsaw ones better and jigsaw jacket2

Laska2Meryls · 27/08/2019 18:12

So who knows when Toast have sales ? I know they have just finished one , but do they ever have Autumn sales?

These trousers came today and I really like them but they are £115! (and thats too much, dont you agree? ) What do you think? They look big but are the sz small!. (I may have to try the XS?)

I do reckon they will be in the sale especially as I know they have had them for a while and they still seem to have lots in stock ..

The top I also like , I have the rust one already in the same size , but I think I shall size down in this one ..

V. Hot and bothered trying it on! I am going to wait until my skirt comes though as I want to try the top with it

Laska2Meryls · 27/08/2019 18:18

I know the top is definitely going back for a smaller , but the trousers? , They are a 'marmite' thing.. tell me what you really think of them please !!

here they are on the model, scroll down to see

ilovecherries · 27/08/2019 18:38

Well, I already own the cheap black one, so guessing it’s more considering if it’s worth the upgrade. I actually really like the second jigsaw one though - cant wear the others as can’t do stand up collars (or at least not leather ones), on my scars. And it’s the same price as the Hush one, albeit Hush has 10% off, but that’s not enough to be worth the compromise. May return Hush, wait for my refund, and try jigsaw after my hols.

I like the trousers, laska, but they are quite expensive for a light weight trouser. Would you be gutted if you missed out on them?

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 27/08/2019 18:51

cherries the hush one looks fine on you, but must admit just going on the website pictures I prefer the jigsaw ones, they look more ‘navy’ must admit though the TU one looks very good for the price I have one in black as well & it’s actually more comfortable than my Reiss one.
Laska I do like the trousers, but dunno it’s awful lot of money for lightweight fabric, maybe wait for the sale unless as cherries says you would be gutted if you missed out on them.

dontcallmelen · 27/08/2019 18:54

cherries I agree the dress seems as though it has to much fabric could you size down, maybe then it wouldn’t look so voluminous.

Laska2Meryls · 27/08/2019 19:12

No I wont be gutted, they are nice and a great quality, (and unusual) . I also feel would work with the 'Scandi-inspired vibe' I am looking for, (even though they are sold as 'Japanese trousers'..).

I really think 'I'd be better with smaller also,(XS!!!) as they are really quite big around the hips..

Well ill have to keep them a few more days if I want to try the top with the skirt..

ilovecherries · 27/08/2019 19:17

I’m not sure about sizing down in them, laska, (unless they are actually falling down!) I think you risk losing the look.

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 27/08/2019 19:20

I do like them with the matching top - making them a horrifically expensive outfit!

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 27/08/2019 19:32

thanks cherries , ill take that on board.. Yes!! the whole outfit is definitely one for sale time!! I just think £115 is a heck of a lot, although they are beautiful fabric and quite weighty.. but lets see what I keep out of the other stuff I have ordered Wink

FuzzyPuffling · 27/08/2019 19:42

Ah cherries i was thinking of saving up for the long sleeved Kensington (as I was so pleased with my green one). How tall are you? is the extra length more noticeable on whatever height you are?

ilovecherries · 27/08/2019 19:45

I’m 5’7 fuzzy, and I’m wearing a 12. The longest bits of the hem are hitting my ankle bone.

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 27/08/2019 19:51

Hmm..not a dissimilar height to me then. I may have to rethink.

Laska2Meryls · 27/08/2019 20:15

Pm'd you cherries Smile

ilovecherries · 27/08/2019 20:18

I’ve just laid it on the black starry one, which has been washed but I don’t think it has shrunk - or not significantly. The longest points are about 4 inches longer, the shorter one about two inches longer. Tbh, it is also just slightly too orange for me, so that, combined with sleeves and extra length just made me feel a bit like it was wearing me. Had only one thing been different I would probably have kept it - had it been blue, for example, I think it would have made me feel less overwhelmed.
