Sorry I’ve been missing for a while...
I love the jumper Ella so pleased you finally found the right Ziggy!
never I liked all the Toast dresses you posted, in fact the burgundy one you ended up keeping was my favourite too so great!
cherries shame you returned the Hush navy leather but if you weren’t feeling the ❤️ totally agree best to, and on the pic you shared if I’m honest the old Sainsbury’s leather one looked just as good as Hush. I also like the sale coat, bargainous!

laska I’ve actually lost track of what you’ve kept vs what you ordered Grin but if you need an assassin for your gunpowder plot I’m your girl! 💥

taybert I like the cords and those DM’s are fabulous! I didn’t know DM did that brogue style. I’d say keep looking for the perfect cords and they will appear, or you can always reorder Toast later if they’re on the sale and then far more palatable to have them taken in at the waist.
I don’t mind modifying a bargain but if you’re buying full price they need to be perfect 👌

just I hate birds, as in properly scared of them in Hitchcock style. I shudder! Put a scarecrow in your garden (I would 😂) we’ve got lots of fat pigeons in our garden but they’re fast to fly away Thank goodness.

Your weekend sounded great soups

Well I must be feeling better as a large Hush order is on its way to me Wink

dontcallmelen · 02/09/2019 12:01

Soy look forward to seeing your hush haul, yy I’m having trouble in keeping up with Laska & the trousers😂

Ellapaella · 02/09/2019 12:04

What's the verdict cherries?

Sooverthemill · 02/09/2019 12:21

Ooh I know I'm a very occasional poster on here but I wanted to share my excitement that I have been awarded hush 'friend' status! Yay. Bought the Olivia cardigan. I can't justify more clothes but I do love cardigans!

Ellapaella · 02/09/2019 12:25

Welcome to the club @Sooverthemill and please stay and join the thread. We're a lovely bunch. I've only just got my friend status despite spending a small fortune over the last 2 years!

Ellapaella · 02/09/2019 12:26

The Olivia cardigan is lovely.

Sooverthemill · 02/09/2019 12:29

ellapella I hope it is in real life. I love hush knitwear. I had a cardigan in 2015 which I wear to death and this should replace that. I thunk I buy too many clothes really

justilou1 · 02/09/2019 12:30

@SoyYo - I detest avian fiends also. Absolutely terrified of the flappy rats of the sky. Especially the nesting psychopaths that will be causing havoc for cyclists and school kids (and Ivy Dog every time she goes outside to pee - admittedly it’s largely her own fault for barking at them and chasing them away for the rest of the year.....)

justilou1 · 02/09/2019 13:11

@Ellapaella!!! Stupid menu on phone and stupid big thumb!!!

justilou1 · 02/09/2019 13:13

I keep getting the names wrong! I was right the first time!!! I am wondering if it’s my phone or delirium from trying to complete too many assignments....

Laska2Meryls · 02/09/2019 13:31

Nah!! , I hadn't kept anything!! (I just blather on a lot about stuff!)
but I now have the Toast Japanese checked cones in smaller size on way and also the Hush cord crops (even though i think they may be a bit 70s..)
Welcome Soover

Good to see you back on here soy x

ilovecherries · 02/09/2019 14:13

Help me choose. I only want to keep one, and normally I would choose a Chanel-esque jacket, but I’m wondering if I will wear it once I retire and a chunky ‘car coat’ as my mum would say, is a more practical choice. Or neither?

Ooh that’s a hard choice cherries you look great in both but to me the Channel style has the edge and with car heating these days I think it’ll be more than adequate for warmth.

just a very ancestral part of our brains knows birds are really dangerous dinosaurs in disguise 😳

taybert · 02/09/2019 15:38

There are a lot of maleficent beasts on this thread.

GinandGingerBeer · 02/09/2019 15:46

Hello, well things have calmed down on the house front as I have well and truly run out of steam.... Hoping to get the new bathroom installed in a few weeks, dining room is currently filling up with fittings and there's dust everywhere from DH starting to knack the double layer of tiles off. (Who does this! Angry Tile over tiles aggghhhh!)
Autumn is my most favourite season and I so love a/w clothing. Loving all your purchases!
I've ordered this from topshop, got 25% off (saw it on a YouTuber) I think it'll be too long but petite has sold out. If it's a winner I might get the length altered.
Looking forward to seeing your hush haul Soybean.

GinandGingerBeer · 02/09/2019 15:47

I like both coats on you cherries, really hard to say. Which one do you think is the most practical day to day?

GinandGingerBeer · 02/09/2019 15:49

Soybean??? Sorry! @SoyYo

ilovecherries · 02/09/2019 15:51

I have been out with socks and crops (taking one for the team). No one pointed at me, I don’t think! I will need to get more practice at it to avoid feeling daft, but my verdict is, it’s worth a go. Keep in mind that Darlington is not the sartorial capital of the world, though!

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 02/09/2019 16:01

I like the chunky buttoned coat best .. (there! one all!)

GinandGingerBeer · 02/09/2019 16:06

With crops, I tend to wear in winter with a chunky flatform brogue with thin knee high socks underneath so there's no chance of a corned beef leg showing Grin
M&S did some knee highs in a 70 denier mix last year so they didn't feel like pop socks.
This year i really want some lace up Victorian style boots in oxblood. As ever when I have my heart set on something, I'll not find it!

GinandGingerBeer · 02/09/2019 16:10

Although DH did absolutely phsl last year when I had crops/brogues/black wool hat and my thin 3/4 Barbour on also in black. He said I looked like a Japanese dictator GrinGrinGrin
The proportions were all wrong but I needed the coat on. I think he even took a picture of me to make him laugh throughout the day!

dontcallmelen · 02/09/2019 17:00

Gin lovely coat 😂 at Japanese dictator, my Dh has on occasions likened me to a very short dictator.
cherries hmmm hard one do you need a warm shorter coat, if you do then I’d say keep if not then the jacket, both do look lovely on you though.

SoyYo · 02/09/2019 17:02

gin you made me LOL with the Japanese dictator look!! 😂😂😂
Classic Grin
I don’t mind soybean btw

And taybert this thread is full of sorcery so any malificent beast trawling the MN threads is gone in a puff of smoke 💨 Wink

Yes I know what you all mean about wide crops + brogues and now I’ll never be able to think of it without the Japanese dictator coming to mind 🙃

Laska2Meryls · 02/09/2019 18:38

Dungarees dont look good on me but I saw some nice denim ones in Sainsburys today if any one looking ..I think they were these ones

Also having another Hush peruse I have decided that I like this sweatshirt

Ellapaella · 02/09/2019 18:46

I think the blue of that sweatshirt would really suit you Laska

I've signed up to Oxfam's no new clothes for September challenge. I had planned to so this anyway really but am actually hopeless at putting it into practice. Now I've signed a pledge I'm hoping I'll stick to it!
So it's official... no new clothes for me for a whole month.
