Ouch at wasp. Wasp stings for some reason make me feel quite tearful and weak, so I know what you mean.

I think hush tees are pretty shocking for the price tbh. I’ve not had the hokey problem but mine really do get handled with kid gloves and they stretch horribly.

taybert · 23/08/2019 17:44

@Laska2Meryls, I’ve stopped getting hush T-shirts for this reason (and their general ragginess after careful washing). In fact I went off hush altogether for the best part of a year as I was so disappointed with all the ones I bought last summer. Could it be jeans button and standing against a worktop doing it? I think it’s usually seatbelts for me.

Laska2Meryls · 23/08/2019 17:44

Yes to being tearful and weak Cherries I am feeling like that ,(although Im sure I will be a bit better now DH has taken Len's advice and passed me a glass of white Smile) I think its the shock..

Wasps are no ruddy good for anything!! Eliminate the wasps!! (and the Mosquitos) Ha! so much for me being all enviromentally friendly KILL THEM-

Laska2Meryls · 23/08/2019 17:46

Taybert it must be something like that.. its only the slub type ones though , and yes they are too expensive and can stretch .. I think that's probably going to be it for me and those ..

taybert · 23/08/2019 17:57

I’ve got a couple of old plain Boden T-shirts I’ve had for years. I’ve been willing them to develop holes and they never had so it is possible!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2019 18:03

..and some of the other hush tees like the black velvet star one are still going strong. Mine is lovely and it has a slub like feel but really robust. They need to look at the material. I wrote a very negative review about them. I like the shape that they start with and then they become really thin and baggy. They dont go out of shape strangely, just a size bigger!

taybert · 23/08/2019 18:06

Yeah, mine have really stretched and one has gone sort of wrinkly. It’s particularly annoying because I ordered one in a size down because they didn’t have my usual size and it fitted ok but then the bigger size came back in stock and I swapped it to allow for shrinkage. That was unnecessary!

taybert · 23/08/2019 18:08

What shoes do you think you’d wear with the cord chinos @Ellapaella?

ilovecherries · 23/08/2019 18:10

I have a confession. The tax man sent me a cheque for £263 today. I have ordered the navy leather jacket. And the long sleeve Kensington. I was tempted to try Baukjen but their jackets are £500 which I really can’t get my head round. Plus I really wanted silver hardware. Don’t know if there is post in England on Monday with it being a PH there but it will come soon. It will have to be The One though, or it will be going straight back.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2019 18:22

Wowl..the tax man sent me a cheque for just £18! Ah well i put it towards my dress. Cant wait to see it on you @cherries.

NotAnActualSheep · 23/08/2019 18:42

Wow cherries ! Lucky you! At least you can see if it is as lovely as it looks. I think it would go really well with the long sleeved kensington, actually, even though it is navy rather than black. I reckon navy goes with everything...

taybert - yes, the cord chinos are lovely. They are the only things from the new season that I was really tempted by, until I saw the new kensington dress...(well, those, and the Alexis grey v neck jumper..). But I do have some long cropped cord trousers in basically the same colour that I got in the Jan sales (yes, toast ones Blush ), so I should wear those more really! I know what you mean about styling them though. I reckon your suggestions of a "narrow-ankled" boot would work that you could roll up the trousers to just below the top of the boot. Or even flat shoes/ brogues (?) with socks? Glittery socks seemed to be "in" last year which were good. I'm not one to advise though, as I have a Fear of cold ankles, so usually chicken out and just have full length trousers...

huff - yes, the slogans. Why?! I don't generally want to wear a random word. It's very seldom going to be the word that sums up the day for me...Though I did succumb to both the "happy" and "lucky" tees, cos they were cheap and nice colours. Though the former made DH ask me if I was wearing it ironically, and the latter I have only worn with a jacket, so you can only see the "uck" (which I realise may be giving entirely the wrong impression).

never - hahaha - Glad to meet someone else who does the dress thing! I thought I was strange too!

laska - ouch, ouch, ouch... Hope the wine is helping.

dontcallmelen · 23/08/2019 19:52

Yy wasp stings making you feel tearful, they really do bloody hurt I’m with you Laska Kill em all glad the wine is helping.
Ooh cherries that’s what tax rebates are for, really hope it’s the one & you can test drive it for me 😂& if I buy nothing else this year a navy biker is top of my wish list.
Will be interesting to see what happens when I wash/wear my Hush love T-shirt as that’s a slub fabric, the rainbow one has washed up ok so far, they are the only slogan ones I have as I’m not keen either on random words across my chest.

Ellapaella · 23/08/2019 21:46

@taybert probably patent chunky brogues (I have a lovely burgundy pair) or DM's - the boots still with the trousers turned up a bit. I would say white trainers but I don't have any - only white canvas pumps and to be I'm just not really a trainers person, but they'd probably look ok.

Ellapaella · 23/08/2019 21:46

Looking forward to seeing the navy biker cherries

justilou1 · 23/08/2019 23:05

Glad you’re keeping the dress, @neveradullmoment99! Sorry about your hand & arm @Laska2Meryls! Sounds excruciating!!! I have never been stung before (yet!) touch wood it stays that way! Very pleased you are going to get your leather jacket, @ilovecherries!!!

taybert · 24/08/2019 07:33

@Ellapaella I’ve got some black nubuck Stan smiths with gold on the heel that would probably work whilst it’s not too cold for ankles. I’ve been looking for lace up boots and found some brogue detailed DMs which could do the job. I’m 36 and I’ve never had a single pair or DMs....

Laska2Meryls · 24/08/2019 08:44

taybert those sound like the sort of trainer id like for the autumn,

I have been having a look at the new Jigsaw offering and quite a lot there I'd like

ribbed slouchy jumper
Margot Trainers

this dress (although its not much good for winter!)
cropped jeans also like the black (but not sure why they dont seem to have hemmed them!)

Laska2Meryls · 24/08/2019 08:50

they have a lovely navy leather biker too!! len and cherries Wink
Although thinking more Scandi, I might go for something more like this one or perhaps this jacket (later in the season, I may prefer to find a black one]]

ilovecherries · 24/08/2019 09:15

How’s your hand today, laska?

I have those jigsaw trainers from last season - think I got them for half price in the sale. They are lovely but they took a bit more breaking in than I like from my trainers. Love them in navy (mine are veja) dupes, white with navy flash)

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 24/08/2019 09:17

I also love the jigsaw jeans. Actually, I’m seriously taken with that whole wide crop thing and need to decide if I have the nerve to do the full on toast model thing and wear them with socks for the winter.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 24/08/2019 09:19

I love crops as well. Love the dark navy jigsaw ones. In fact, love them with the striped top but i dislike the hem tbh. Less so in the navy for some reason.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/08/2019 09:21

I love the look for socks and brogues but i think they would look good with funky ones!

Laska2Meryls · 24/08/2019 12:58

Hand is still pretty sore this morning cherries but swelling almost gone down, sadly its right in he joint of my thumb so will probably be a bit painful for day or so yet, ( but left hand luckily, as I am right -handed).

Huffthepuff · 24/08/2019 13:05

I'm looking for a crossbody crochet bag for my holiday next month. I'm running out of places to try as most shops seem to have ditched their summer stuff now. Have included picture of the style I like. This one is on amazon but comes from China and they don't seem very robust from reviews. Plus it might not arrive in time. It's just for the evenings and I guess day trips when I'm not taking my big beach bag. It doesn't need to be very big. Any ideas?
