Hello all. Sorry I've been AWOL. Work's been crazy, and the last thing I've wanted to do is look at more screens...And I've been unremittingly knackered over the past week or so - went to bed at 9 yesterday and still exhausted this morning. Gaaaahhhh.
Have loved catching up though, and seeing your photos and buys.
never I really like the dresses on you (posted a long time ago now I think!) - the hush blue one from the new collection and the leopard from twist one - v flattering.
laska agree with the others, the "scandi" look is brill on you. I do think that lots of toast stuff goes much better together than it "should" . Like the wide trousers and that rusty top you have - and the striped top with the olive trousers. Going by the "slimmer-fitting top with wide legged bottom" rule they shouldn't work - but demonstrably they do! You look great!
len - so glad your DD and family have their new place now. yy - take it gently!
soy - the white stuff stuff is beautiful - and really good value. Love the teal jumper especially. Will look lovely on you. I confess i haven't really looked in there for a while, especially during sales, as it seems to be rack upon rack of printed tunics that just aren't the right shape for me, but they do have the odd gem.
ella lovely jeans too. I've got some jigsaw jeans (their "slim boyfriend" cut) and I agree, they are beautifully soft denim. Mine do go ridiculously big at the waist though within about 30min of putting them on -which is fine with a belt, but rather embarassing without! Also really looking forward to seeing your boden coat too. It looks lovely on the website (and it doesn't have that fecking awful lining
).
cherries - oooof. I'm always tired just reading your various travel exploits! Hope you're having a more gentle day today. I was wondering the same about wide legged crops. I have seem them styled with socks/ brogues, or ankle boots (chelsea boots, or flat narrow lace ups, or sort of desert-boot type things) but I know what you mean about the "look" feeling a bit odd. I'm wondering if it will become more "usual" this winter, given wide crops have been everywhere this summer, and while the silhouette used to look odd to me, its now perfectly fine. May just need to get my eye in! (And i know your current dislike of toast, but they seem to have styled some of their winter trousers like that - like the model on the page with the striped swing jumper).
Speaking of which - I do appear to have bought that jumper
(I know, I know...) I love it - though it seems like the reviewers on the site really don't. It's not as heavy weight as i was expecting, and a bit shorter but is great as an extra layer at the moment, and the neck would work with a polo neck or just a long sleeved tee later on. Its lovely and swingy, and smells nice and sheepy (in a good way...). Sleeves are good, but I can't wash up with them on
. I thought it would work with skinny jeans - but it doesn't at all with me (too short so it hits the widest part of me and then flares out a bit more!) - but is good with wider trousers and long skirts - and possibly slimmer but more relaxed trousers too (need to experiment). Photos in next post...
Also I tried dying the pale grey marl cropped joggers to make them less pale and grey. They are now very purple and rather good (still a bit marl-y and with white stitching - but the silver sparkle on the waist tie looks nice with the purple). Still drying, as our tumble drier is STILL knackered and everything is taking ages to dry.
