Yes I think it does, I have kind of avoided brown tones up yo mow because of the ghastly brown and cream school uniform we had to wear !! ( Oh so long ago in my case!! ) But here to illustrate..
The problem with cultivating this look though id that I'm going to have to spend a lot more in places like Toast..
But it does feel more like the laid- back Scandi look I have always admired when we go to Denmark to see the reles ..

neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2019 13:33

Looks great @laska. Yeh, my house is a mess, beds not made but thats the usual!!! Until Sunday and then its getting it on clean for the week ahead!

neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2019 13:33

*all clean!

justilou1 · 17/08/2019 13:57

You look great, Laska! Have to admit that I haven't worn maroon since high school because of school uniform. (Also makes me look like I need a liver transplant!)
Those trousers look fab on you. You must be the most stylish woman on the Island.

Laska2Meryls · 17/08/2019 13:59

I ordered the wide leg jersey trousers yesterday and they have just arrived..

But they are going back.. they are just a bit pedestrian.. (also v cheap feeling fabric.)

I've got a feeling ill be ordering those Toast checked trousers after all.. !

Laska2Meryls · 17/08/2019 14:01

Hardly Just lou!! but thanks 😘

dontcallmelen · 17/08/2019 15:12

Laska you look super stylish in the pics, yy the rust tones really suit you, I’m another one who had brown/cream uniform.
I’m so envious that you can wear the really stylish scandi vibe & pull it off so well.
Kicking myself I missed the Kathy Burke programme, I do love her & yy being self critical so blooming silly.
I’m halfway through trying to sort house out, done three loads of washing & now attempting to sort out living room everything feels so upside down after three weeks of extremely untidy dd & sil I’m very discombobulated with it all & keep sending Dh out on errands so he’s not in my way😂

SoyYo · 17/08/2019 19:28

Love today’s combo laska it does look really great 👍
As for cowboy boots I don’t like them on principle but the R&B linked earlier are rather nice Hmm

len glad your DD and family are now settled in their new temp flat but poor you! Please take it easy, I get like you sometimes too when my boys have mates over the weekend but pace yourself. You can finish it off in smaller chunks over the next week.

I had a nice afternoon out with DH in Ely, browsing around I went into white stuff and shop I’ve only gone to very occasionally and enabled by him walked out with 2 sale dresses (they are rather nice and were vastly reduced) and teal linen jumper and a pink gauzy scarf with tiny gold stars on it. I’ll never learn will I Grin 🤦🏻‍♀️

SoyYo · 17/08/2019 19:37

Teal jumper

Scarf (also goes brilliantly with kakhi hush jacket I was wearing today with black skinnies
www.whitestuff.com/accessories-and-shoes/womens-accessories/festival-pink-foil-sun-dreaming-away/

Weirdly I can’t find the 2 dresses in their website so I’ll show you/take pics tomorrow

SoyYo · 17/08/2019 19:54

Ah found the long t shirt dress which is perfect maxi length on me just hitting my ankle bone, it’ll go well with the teal jumper and pink scarf on colder days
www.whitestuff.com/womens/dresses/kahlo-green-print-flor-dress/
The other shorter navy blue one I got is not online but it’s great: the navy linen fabric has unusual embroidery all over like a print. Lined. Really interesting fabric that “makes” and otherwise basic sleevess shaped dress.

Laska2Meryls · 17/08/2019 20:57

Thanks for nice compliments on my Scandi style!... I have held off with buying any more , but come payday (or near enough..) .. I have a Toast list!!! Grin

Len i bet you are relieved .. hard work living with grown up Kids etc- even though you love them.. Hope you had a nice relaxing bath and Gin this evening..

soy that dress is really fab, and I can see that colour working on you so well..

dontcallmelen · 18/08/2019 10:56

Laska yy love them dearly, but hadn’t really realised that I do like my space & routine I’m definitely getting old😂
Soy yes you are right I get all manic, pacing is much more sensible.
Love the white stuff purchases such pretty colours & total bargains.
My Denver top & love T-shirt arrived the T-shirt is lovely, the Denver top is nice but wouldn’t have kept it if I had paid full price, it’s quite thin cotton but will look nice with jeans or shorts.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/08/2019 22:51

Wow...its been so quiet today. Hardly any posts! Well its been busy for me preparing for the week ahead. Working my usual three days. Can't wait for Thursday when I am off!!! I live for my days off these days!
Like the outfit @laska.

Ellapaella · 18/08/2019 22:59

I've spent the last two days travelling back up from Devon, stopped in Oxfordshire at my parents for the night yesterday and came home today. Been busy unpacking and doing mountains of washing.
Yesterday I went shopping with my Mum and bought a beautiful pair of boyfriend jeans from Jigsaw. I had holiday money left over that I hadn't spent so I bought the kids a toy each and I treated myself. They are beautiful quality, lovely soft denim.
Boden coat should arrive in next couple of days - after that I'm not buying anything for as long as possible as I have a crazy amount of clothes. I have bought so many things I have hardly worn this year, feeling a bit annoyed with myself and wondering if I actually have a bit of a problem Wink I really want to stop buying so much and just save for fewer, nice quality items that will last longer. I also want to spend a bit of money on the garden - since the dog stopped digging up all our flower beds I want to start making a nice space outside again (not that I really know what I'm doing in the garden but I'd like to learn).

Ellapaella · 18/08/2019 23:01

Love all your stuff Laska and agree rust is a great colour in you. You suit the autumn tones.

Huffthepuff · 19/08/2019 09:57

Ooh jeans sound lovely @Ellapaella can you post a pic? Looking forward to seeing the Boden coat too.

Still on the no spend bench for another 4 weeks but the 10% off expires at the start of September so I may have to find a way to order the Diane bag before then. With something so expensive the discount really makes a difference. It looks like the perfect level of slouch (although I really don't need another bag, I'm always on the lookout for the perfect one)

I really like the Hadden boots also but they are too £££ for me right now

ilovecherries · 19/08/2019 10:20

Morning, Hushistas! We are not long back from Inverness, having left at midnight. We had a snooze in the car at Stirling, but still knackered. Poor DH has gone to work, I’m mainlining coffee and decided to do what I thought would be a no-brainer task and pack up all the summer clothes that won’t be coming on holiday with us to take home next w/e. When we have to go back AGAIN but fortunately only to Glasgow this time. Anyway,it didn’t turn out to be as no-brainer as I expected as I have immediately run into the issue of cropped wide leg jeans and chinos. Are they summer wear only with bare legs or could they be styled for winter? I love them, so reluctant to send them away, but can’t help thinking they will look weird with socks and brogues. What’s the verdict?

Ellapaella · 19/08/2019 10:52

Jigsaw Jeans @Huffthepuff so soft, lovely denim. Not sure about that cherries in theory could look good, in reality not sure if I'd be brave enough. Have a go and see what you think. Still think we have plenty summer left though, in summer clothes until at least the end of September so you'd get plenty wear anyway.

Ellapaella · 19/08/2019 10:55

Sea salt are styling lots of their cropped trousers with socks and boots/shoes. I think it looks quite nice.

Huffthepuff · 19/08/2019 11:14

Yes I think there is room to wear cropped trousers with trainers through quite a bit of autumn while the weather is mild.
I would wear brogues or trainers with no socks (hidden socks) but don't think I could get away with brogues, socks and cropped trousers. It can be quite a androgynous look which I can't carry off

ilovecherries · 19/08/2019 11:25

Gorgeous jeans, ella.

I think I’m probably not brave enough for the sock/brogue combo. I wouldn’t describe the sea salt ones as cropped - more ankle grazers. And rolled, so it looks better anyway. But proper wide crops like the Moritz or Chamonix, I’m not so sure about. Anyway, we go on hols on 10 September, and so when we come back on 28th I anticipate that it will feel like Autumn, and I need to have created space here to bring my autumn winter clothes from home. Actually, that in itself is quite interesting - before we lived over two houses, everything just lived in the wardrobe all the time, and even if I hadn’t worn it much, Stuff always felt old as I was sick looking at it. Now, I do feel as if I have a fresh new wardrobe twice a year.

Anyway, I basically have three weeks of U.K. summer left!

Jeans look gorgeous @Ellapaella ! You have a lovely tan! Great outfit

dontcallmelen · 19/08/2019 11:26

Never it was quiet, I thought I had killed the thread😂 hope work isn’t to awful & enjoy the days off.
Ella yy buying too much, I don’t its helped that the summer so far has been very hit n miss I haven’t worn much of the summer stuff I bought last/this year & was really trying to make an effort in wearing ‘nicer’ stuff rather than the same few things, I’m definitely on the no spend bench until at least October now & then definitely only really good quality & what I need rather than what I want.
cherries no help, but maybe play around with footwear/boots.

dontcallmelen · 19/08/2019 11:27

Ella jeans are lovely👍🏼
