Also the bottom two to the right are fabulous on youGrin
@Laska2Meryls i kept the skirt!

Ellapaella · 10/08/2019 15:32

I can't get enough WiFi at the moment to read back through the thread but suffice to say that last night was awful!
Gale force winds and non stop rain, my DS's tent collapsed at 2.30am - I was in the roof box with ds 2 and my side got soaked in rain. I had to sleep in my car with DS1, a big strapping 17 year old. It was cramped, cold and not at all comfortable! Had about 3 hours sleep!
We all packed up and drove to Ilfracombe at 9am, gale force winds and persistent rain still going. Had a big cooked breakfast and 5 cups of tea in a cafe and have finally made it to the house!
Currently drying out and waiting for shopping to arrive. I can honestly say I've never been so grateful to step inside dry walls! I feel a bit traumatised!

Ellapaella · 10/08/2019 15:34

Current view from balcony. Still quite stormy but at least the rain has stopped!

Ella Oh no!! poor you .. its a tad blowy here at the moment ( but I am safe at home), DH has just gone out for a walk on the High Down he says .. , hope he doesn't get blown off a cliff!)

neveradullmoment99 · 10/08/2019 17:03

OMG @ella. What a shame. Sounds like an absolutely hellish night. Seeming lots of places were experience black outs - airports etc. It was described as armagedon!!!! Your photo still looks beautiful @Laska2Meryls glad you ordered it. If it doesnt suit you can send back.

Binkybix · 10/08/2019 18:01

just love the dresses - especially the last one. I wore my star culottes to work the other day. Once I got over feeling self conscious that people might think I was in my Pjs I loved them. And got compliment when went out after work in them.

Laska2Meryls · 10/08/2019 18:21

I love al the dresses justlou the first two are my favourites

yesthatstheone · 10/08/2019 21:03

Laska can I ask you...have you ever been on "come dine with me"?!!! :-)

ilovecherries · 10/08/2019 23:14

I’m home after a very long and exciting day on the East coast train from Kings Cross, followed by a 2 hour cross country dash in the car to rescue DD from Preston after her west coast service to Scotland from Euston had to terminate there because of flooding. So we get a bonus weekend with her as we’ve decided no one is going anywhere tomorrow unless it’s on foot to allow all the trains to get back into the right position. Fantastic week, but could have done without the drama of the last 24 hours!

Glad you are home @cherries and its nice to see you back on. The weather has been so disruptive with poor @ella who is on holiday getting the brunt of it! Glad to hear you loved your course and you are back safely with your dd :)

justilou1 · 11/08/2019 04:49

OMG! Glad everyone safe and sound! Ella you are reminding me why I loathe camping. (Last time I was holding up tent poles during wrath of god thunderstorm quite convinced I would be hit by lightning, busting to pee, and tree roots tore a big hole in the tent, then days later I found out that my friends who were camping elsewhere had their son choppered to hospital because some kid wasn’t being supervised by his parents and was playing with a machete, and chopped him while he was sleeping in his tent!!!) Nope, I prefer to sleep under 5 stars only!!!

twosoups1972 · 11/08/2019 20:34

@justilou1 love it all especially the sandals, so pretty.

@ilovecherries oh dear but at least you spent some time with dd. Has she gone back yet?

@Ellapaella hope everything is going well now and the weather has improved. Camping can be lovely in the right weather but not so much when the weather's rubbish.

We've had some huge downpours here in London, after I hung all the holiday washing on the line outside! Bah. Think I'll just leave it to hang and hope we have some sun tomorrow.

Ellapaella · 11/08/2019 21:05

@justilou1 that sounds very dramatic! Fortunately no machete wielding boys on our campsite! We are in our holiday house now, weather has improved and we've had a lovely day on the beach. I love all your buys Lou.

justilou1 · 11/08/2019 21:58

@Ellapaella - the fact that there were tent pokes should give you an idea that it was a while ago.... (mid 90’s, I think!)

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 00:24

Glad you are having a better time @Ellapaella and the weather has perked up.
NOOOooooo to camping. Never!!! I couldn't bare it.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 00:25

In warm and sunny places - too many bugs.
When its wet - to cold and soggy!

dontcallmelen · 12/08/2019 08:29

just the dresses & sandals are fab, lovely colours as well.
Ella crikey glad you are safe n sound in the holiday home, hope the weather continues to improve.
cherries so glad you enjoyed the week, journey sounds horrific hope you are cosy n dry now.
Soups I hate it when that happens, hope you enjoyed the sunshine in Portugal.
I fell off the bench a bit😳 ordered the Denver midnight top & love T-shirt so not to much damage, definitely definitely superglued & manacled to bench for the foreseeable!!

Ellapaella · 12/08/2019 08:35

Boden has some beautiful wool winter coats. Am definitely ordering to try when I get home! Just what I've been looking for.

Love this one.

ilovecherries · 12/08/2019 09:17

I would have bought the Boden trench this year, but yet again the lining looks as if it’s designed with a Brexit supporter in mind, so I’m just not. Annoying as it’s a lovely coat.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 09:43

Totally agree with you @ilovecherries. I boycot EVERYTHING with a union jack on it, even food. Tesco is ridiculous for the union jack on it like cheese, chicken. Its very very annoying.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 09:48

...and more and more things esp in tesco displays it esp here in Scotland! When i was in Cornwall there were hardly anything displayed with the union jack. I do not want to be promoting a political stance on my food!

neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 09:49

...and i will not promote brexit.

dontcallmelen · 12/08/2019 10:04

Here here

ilovecherries · 12/08/2019 10:24

I know. I actually ordered the trench last year, before I noticed the lining, and it was a beautiful fit, but I sent it back and told them why I would not be wearing it, but they’ve done it again this year. I don’t care for a lot of their ‘fun, jolly’ linings, but usually I will suck them up if everything else is right, but I’m not wearing that!

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 12/08/2019 10:31

I thought it was also a beautiful trench until you drew my attention to the lining!
