Should I cut my hair?

Wondering if I should get my hair cut. What does everyone think?

Photo is a bit crap - sorry - but very recent. Hair is nipple length and straight, the individual hairs are relatively fine but there are quite a lot of them.

If you do go for the chop and are having more than 8 inches chopped off there is an amazing charity called The Little Princess Trust who takes hair donations to make real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer.
My daughters have both decided to donate, one is giving 16 inches and the other 10.
Have a look at their website x x
Oh, and I think a bob slightly longer at front than back looks good

damnson · 18/07/2019 21:01

NO!!

Idontlikeshopping · 18/07/2019 21:10

I like long hair so it's a no from me

Chochito · 18/07/2019 21:26

Thanks ShakespearesSisters, it's a worthy cause but if I have 8 inches cut off my hair will be more like Michelle Williams' crop than any lob. I don't want to go that short.

If you already have lob style length maybe a slight colour change?

Gone back to obsessively Googling lobs. Blush Confused

Anyone know any good sites for trying out hairstyles virtually?

I think you should just have a trim, to make the edges blunt and strong. Your hair is gorgeous and you should leave it alone imo

Chochito · 26/07/2019 13:12

IWannaSeeHowItEnds Thanks very much. The ends are pretty blunt; you can more or less see them in the second photo I posted (with the blue and white striped bikini top).

I saw a friend of a friend who's a hairdresser and they said the same as you.

Can't stop feeling bored with my hair so have booked the hairdresser for Thursday morning.

Excited and scared all at once! ShockConfusedBlushGrin

What shall I ask for?

I've just had a lob! The back just sits in my neck. I really like it. Looks nice curled which I usually do or if I cba I can do half up half down cos the fronts long with a messy bun on top.

Your hair is fabulous, SushiTime. How long was it before?

OP posts:
SushiTime · 29/07/2019 12:35

Not much longer than the front but it was pretty nondescript, I like how it now has a style and looks thought about.

SushiTime · 29/07/2019 12:35

Thanks also Smile

Chochito · 30/07/2019 13:36

Sushitime Your hair looks amazing, but does it take a long time and / or a lot of wizardry to style?

To me long bobs look gorgeous but hard to pull off.

Just have it trimmed. Lobs are verging on the I want to speak to the manager territory.

JoyceDivision · 30/07/2019 14:02

What a load of bollocks, all this "Speak to the manager" haircut crap.

Only women sit stressing if hair, stuff that grows on their head, is an acceptable trend? Who gives a fuck. Women putting each other down because they don't meet non existent hair cool criteria. Yep, a unecceassry and irrelevant put down. Go you.

Op, hair looks really good.

SushiTime · 30/07/2019 14:15

Nooo, i literally leave it to dry after washing and then in a morning whizz the straighteners through it or add a few curls with a wand. Or if I totally cba it goes half up in a messy bun.

Below is when I've used a wand.

Teddybear45 · 30/07/2019 14:18

I think long hair suits you. Don’t fall into the trap of cutting gorgeous hair ‘for a change’ or because you’re bored. Try a few different styles first

Chochito · 30/07/2019 20:22

Teddybear45, JoyceDivision and Soola thank you all; I totally agree, I don't want 'cool hair' (whatever that is deemed to be), just hair that suits me and fits my routine, which is wash my hair and leave to air dry, often while I am sleeping.

I'm absolutely cackhanded when it comes to any kind of styling, same goes for applying make-up, so I don't think my hair would ever look as great as yours, SushiTime. The wand curl picture is just beautiful hair!

merlotqueen · 30/07/2019 21:19

Why don't you ask the hairdresser for ways to do your hair, like easy up dos?

There are lots of implements you can buy to help you do easy buns, plaits etc and you tube videos too.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 30/07/2019 21:59

I'm not against cutting hair and going dramatically different if you have a raging curiosity to see what it looks like. I did it - went really short having had long hair. I liked it but not as much as I did the long hair. It satisfied my curiosity and it does grow back do if you hate it, it's not the end of the world. I did find that it aged me and I think shoulder length hair (if it's beautiful) is more youthful.

thebluearsefly · 30/07/2019 22:05

Nipple length 😂

Soola · 30/07/2019 22:07

I’m a whiz with make up but rubbish with my styling my hair!

I now use a Dyson hairdryer and have found that great for getting swishy hair.
