Carole is a vegan now!

But tbh these people have cooks. Kate does not cook. When the reports say "Kate favours organic food for her children" she ain't the one actually cooking it! Even way back in Anglesey they had a "housekeeper" who did all that.

If I had a cook I'd be a stone lighter! Mind you, my kids would still turn up their noses at it. DD refused spaghetti bolognese this evening - who the fuck refuses spag bol? Angry

I can't imagine the Cambridge kids being like that but I suppose they must be. How embarrassing if your kid refuses food your staff have made. It's galling enough when it's stuff you made yourself.

Quintella · 13/07/2019 21:21

Actually I can see Kate cooking for her family fairly often and enjoying that side of things. The difference being between her and us plebeians though is if she fancies a night off she can just get Mrs Patmore to whip up a lovely dinner instead. And that is a luxury few of us can imagine!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/07/2019 21:40

She probably has someone do the prep. That’s the time consuming bit.
Look at Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals. He had assistants peeling and chopping beforehand

Lol Jamie’s 30 minute meals frequently took me two hours to make!!!

AppleKatie · 13/07/2019 21:45

Blimey those jeans are seamless with her skin Shock that’s incredible.

MoreProseccoNow · 13/07/2019 21:48

Definitely no muffin top there! Grin

derxa · 13/07/2019 21:56

I actually love Kate. I honestly believe there's no side to her. Today after the Women's Final at Wimbledon, Halep had to be steered to meet Kate because she was a bit flustered. The DoC just took it in her stride and was lovely. I'm not a royal sycophant. I just think that DoC has excellent manners.

MoreProseccoNow · 13/07/2019 22:04

She is far more socially adept than her husband. I think he (unsurprisingly) has "issues" and she anchors him in a positive way.

Yep

AppleKatie · 13/07/2019 22:15

Yes I agree. I can’t help but admire her.

I’ve taught 100s of similar girls to Kate (I once worked in a very prestigious boarding school- not hers obv) and it’s a very particular kind of society and she has a genuine warmth about her despite the constraints of class and duty Grin

Paradyning · 13/07/2019 22:32

Did anyone else think the Duke of Kent looked worryingly frail? He almost disappeared side in and his clothes were swamping him.

Duke of York for the cricket. Oh yea! Hmm

Paradyning · 13/07/2019 22:32
  • side on
QueenOfTheAndals · 13/07/2019 22:39

No, I thought he was looking very doddery @Paradyning. He must be mid-80s but looks more frail than HM.

I was quite shocked at his appearance.

I think what pp think is Kate's outie is actually a decorative bow that you tend to get on the front of your pants!

AppleKatie · 13/07/2019 22:47

He is very slim. Just watched the video back. What really struck me though was how relaxed Serena seemed in defeat by comparison to her ‘team’ and supporters who looked furious!

UrsulaPandress · 13/07/2019 22:47

I agree Kate always seems to have bloody fabulous manners.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/07/2019 22:49

I guess when you're raised in a middle class family, the importance of good manners is always emphasised. When you're upper class, especially royal, not so much!

I thought this too. I suspect 'pant bows' are the only fashion statement that I share with Kate.

Just catching up on this thread. I love the green colour on Kate but thought the material, buttons and cut made it look a bit cheap and nasty. For me it didn't look like a dress that costs £££.

Meghan's skirt was perfect but the shirt didn't work with it. A navy top would have been much better, either a silk 'drapey' shirt or even a plain shell top.

How great to see Kate, Meghan and Pippa together, all smiling and seemingly all enjoying themselves.

Rhubarbisevil · 13/07/2019 23:46

My son was at prep school with some girls who have gone on to prestigious boarding schools and their mothers are tough cookies. Not a lot of warmth there, I’m afraid. I think Kate is a product of her family rather than her schooling so props to Carole and Mike.

mikado1 · 13/07/2019 23:57

Kate's dress very dark for a summer's day. They all looked really well, but no 10 from me!

JaimeBronde · 14/07/2019 02:08

I think Meghan is probably just in the lower echelons of her bmi even after having Archie, so she's still slim but more healthy looking with a few extra pounds that have taken her from underweight to nearly the right weight.

Pippa looks so thin!

I think Kate really suits the 40s vibe.
I love Kate I wish she could be Queen in her own right with William as her consort a la Victoria & Albert (sorry Will but it's just a girl crush thing ......but then I have a girl crush on Eve & Villanelle so what does that say about me....)

Notmyrealname855 I think Meg & Pippa look more like sisters than Kate & Pippa do.
Both Meg & Pip remind me of Wallis Simpson in looks who I think was a beautiful lady.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/07/2019 03:57

Now that you mention it@JaimeBronde there is definitely a similarity between Pippa and Wallis. The latter I would say was striking, but I think it was more to do with the way she presented herself rather than actual beauty.

Meghan is without question beautiful. She also has a perfectly symmetrical face, hence carrying off the s3vere centre partings.
Kate is not quite as classically beautiful, but the difference is made up by how animated and constantly smiling she is.

Meghan looks well and lovely but the outfit is all the wrong shape. Somehow both swamps her and makes her look boxy.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/07/2019 07:25

First time I came across this site, but it’s pointing out that photos of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo as well as the other Duchesses are suspiciously timed to detract from the Epstein case / Prince Andrew angle
