Is the seating not a seniority thing?

Checking in to the Wimbledon thread.

EleanorReally · 13/07/2019 14:23

Serena looks so strong

yellowalstroemeria · 13/07/2019 14:24

They all look lovely. Kate's on a real 40s typist kick and I love it.

Poor Megan will now be blamed for not allowing Kate to sit beside her sister.

TSSDNCOP · 13/07/2019 14:26

Yep: Piers is recovering with a MM vs the Middleton’piece where MM spoilt the girls lovely afternoon out by being nice and smiley and wearing a lovey complimentary outfit. She taking up Carole’s seat FGS!!

evilharpy · 13/07/2019 14:27

Love Pippa's dress.

The Hugo Boss skirt is shown on the website being worn with a button down shirt, but it looks like a floatier/lighter fabric. How Meghan has styled it doesn't really work for me I'm afraid.

ElspethFlashman · 13/07/2019 14:28

Well, Pippa wins the day. She looks fresh and pretty and summery.

I like Meghan's face (so pretty) but hate the bloody white shirt. What is it with Americans and thinking a white shirt is a go-to? They're obsessed with them! Blah blah capsule wardrobe classic crisp white shirt blah blah blah. But they make everyone look wide and frumpy.

But I dislike Kates outfit just as much. Its so tight it's like she's wearing green skin. And highlights how underweight she is. I think its a terrible dress.

ElspethFlashman · 13/07/2019 14:29

By the by, do we all realise this is Pippas third day at Wimbledon? Nice life, eh??!

TSSDNCOP · 13/07/2019 14:30

I like a crisp white shirt personally Blush

AdaColeman · 13/07/2019 14:31

Pippa looks the best and most appropriately dressed of the three, pretty and summery.
Not keen on Kate's dark green, I think the sewing and fit are poor. Megs looks quite ordinary.

Labrodite · 13/07/2019 14:31

Pippa’s dress is lovely. It’s by Anna Mason but unfortunately it’s £735!

It’s a great life! And I don’t begrudge her at all!

TSSDNCOP · 13/07/2019 14:32

It’s a life I’d like to try that’s for certain.

Ninkaninus · 13/07/2019 14:32

And yes I agree, Pippa did it best today.

SenecaFalls · 13/07/2019 14:33

I'm American, and I agree with this. I don't even own one. But I am short waisted, and I think that it is a particularly difficult look to pull off if you are short waisted.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/07/2019 14:35

@ElspethFlashman I've always said Pippa has the nicer life out of the sisters. Enough money to never lift a finger and do whatever she wants but completely out of the public eye and free from scrutiny!

OP posts:
Horsemad · 13/07/2019 14:36

I agree SenecaFalls, think this is why it doesn't look so good on Meghan.

AliasGrape · 13/07/2019 14:37

I love Kate’s dress in theory - love the 40s shape and in contrast to lots here I like me some buttons and bows - but somehow I just don’t really like it on her/for this occasion. It looks uncomfortable and not well fitted over the bust, and I suppose I’m just comparing it unfavourably to previous Wimbledon outfits that have stood out to me more. I don’t like Meghan’s look either, as others have said the white shirt doesn’t work with the skirt and to me it looks creased and ill fitting, Pippa looks nice enough.

I’m generally much easier to please than most on these threads but today I’m having one of those ‘ALL that money and that’s the best you can do?’ moments.

SenecaFalls · 13/07/2019 14:37

I think they are seated in order of seniority. They entered in order of precedence. But imagine the fuss if Meghan had let Pippa go in front of her so that Pippa was seated next to Kate. It would be all "Meghan doesn't want to sit next to Kate" in the press.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/07/2019 14:37

Maybe Meghan had a better top on and then Archie spat up on it just as she was about to leave!!

The problem with Kate's dress is that it doesn't actually fit very well. And Meghan's ensemble, while very appropriate for tennis, just doesn't wow me with that white shirt.

I agree that Pippa wins the day.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/07/2019 14:43

(I'm also watching for the actual tennis so I hope the match improves and Serena puts up more of a fight!)

Pieceofpurplesky · 13/07/2019 14:46

I think they look lovely. Meghan clearly lives a structured shirt and if she is comfortable in them then so be it.

As an aside zoom in on the photo of the man next to Kate. His face is great and I live his tie

Ninkaninus · 13/07/2019 14:48

I agree they all look lovely. Comments on outfits are about the theory of an outfit, mostly - when it comes down to it, they all look perfectly fine.
