And I think we all can agree that it's much more fun if we stick to critiquing the clothes rather than the women!

Looooooooooove that black dress!!! So swish and dare I say it quite sexy (esp as KMid tends to go demure these days).

Also love the pink :) beautiful and tasteful but still glam.

Bloody Ruth Roche sounds like a right horror.

Zoeputthatdown · 08/07/2019 19:21

That black velvet dress was wonderful.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/07/2019 19:21

I would not make a very good princess. When wearing black velvet I would need to be accompanied at all times with a lady in waiting clutching a sticky roller to brush off all the crumbs, fluff and hair I would manage to accumulate.

AliasGrape · 08/07/2019 19:50

I love the black velvet too, would love to see a rewear.

Laiste · 08/07/2019 19:53

I'm thinking actually we very rarely see Kate in black these days at all, do we?

Notmyrealname855 · 08/07/2019 19:56

Is it a bit like HM where she wears colour so you can spot her?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/07/2019 20:03

I’ve seen her in a black lace DvF dress. And a cocktail dress in NZ Unless it’s rememberance Sunday; she seems to steer clear

Paradyning · 08/07/2019 20:03

Isn't Leti's rewear that gorgeous ASOS dress? Agree the shoes are a shade too pink.

That pink JP dress is stunning! One of my favs. Looks lovely in black too in the shop window. Thanks for posting!

MotherofPearl · 08/07/2019 20:13

Yes @Paradyning - it's the ASOS one.

If Kate rewears the black velvet within the next few months I reckon we can take it as confirmation that she reads our threads. Grin

Ha ha me too! And dog hairs!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/07/2019 20:49

Another gown she's never reworn is the sequinned one she wore to an awards dinner soon after George was born. Maybe it's now too big as she's lost weight since then, but it's not like she can't find a good tailor!

Queen post a pic! Sounds glamorous but having problems finding it

MotherofPearl · 08/07/2019 21:02

Was it this one?

Notmyrealname855 · 08/07/2019 21:02

Wow that’s beautiful!!!

hopeishere · 08/07/2019 21:04

How do you think Kate gets to select jewellery to borrow? Do you think there's folders with pictures? Who is in charge of all the bits and bobs? Is it the Queens dresser?

frugalkitty · 08/07/2019 21:08

Can't link but there's an article in the Mail this evening about Meghan being in talks to write a column in both the UK and US Vogues. That's the gist at least. I'm not sure about that. I think they're treading a thin line between position/role/celebrity etc.

In the 60s Princess Grace very nearly appeared in a Hitchcock movie (Marnie???? My memory fails me..,) but decided ultimately that as a princess of Monaco it just wasn't appropriate. So it's not like this is a new thing, but I do feel H&M need to be careful about roles beyond their royal ones.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/07/2019 21:13

@MotherofPearl yes that's the one!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 08/07/2019 21:17

@frugalkitty I'll believe the bit about Meghan having a column in Vogue when it happens! I think it's the Mail just trying to drum up shit about her so people can disapprove. Has the story about her guest editing Vogue even been confirmed?

Felt like they touted that idea a few months ago and it was rightly shot down.

Not sure what I’m impressed by least - a royal writing for an elitist and problematic couldn’t-be-glossier magazine, or underqualified royals faking it as experts.

Why not write in the most basic and free of papers, accessible by everyone.... or why don’t these same publications give a platform to actual qualified women, women who’ve been running or helping run any of the hundreds of charities in the UK and commonwealth?

Annoys me to see slebs do this sort of thing (have too many friends working extremely hard in the charities industry that could use that platform a hundred times more effectively).

If this is a repeat of their Instagram and plugging friends’ ventures with platitudes and PR, count me out.

Hairydilemma · 08/07/2019 21:44

@QueenOfTheAndals, I love that sequinned dress too.

It’s a Jenny Packham and I have a near-identical JP at Debenhams one in rose gold - don’t imagine Kate’s is the Debenhams version tho!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/07/2019 21:45

But again, we don't know what actually happened as it's only the Mail reporting on it. Their stories get so ridiculous that these days I tend not to believe anything unless the palace confirms it!

I actually ordered that ASOS bird dress last year but it was very small fitting and I would have had to size up possibly 2 sizes and my vanity at the time couldn't hack it, lol. Regret it now as despite being crease-central, it really was dreamy.

Of course Queens don't have to worry about the ironing!

Clankboing · 08/07/2019 23:10

A video just came up on youtube - Max and Wax wedding. It was really lovely - sorry I don't know how to link. When they say yes to each other you can hear the crowds cheering outside and they both are trying hard to hold it together. Their faces are full of emotion. I also liked how they walk up the aisle, being lead and followed by others, but also walking together.
