And I think we all can agree that it's much more fun if we stick to critiquing the clothes rather than the women!

Swedish CP family on holiday. Don’t get more normal than this!

When I look at Kate I think it's not possible to be anymore gorgeous. Then i look at Meghan and think exactly the same!

Same. I'm not down with Kates thinness. But I think she's a beautiful woman, inside and out. And I'm not down with Meghan's PR or her spending. But I think she's a beautiful woman and probably quite nice in person. Certainly she has loads of friends, some of them for years and years so she must make an effort to keep them. Some have fallen by the wayside but who's to say they weren't a bit shit and no loss?

But facially, I think they are both just dreamy. 😍

Notmyrealname855 · 07/07/2019 18:54

Liking the swedes!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/07/2019 19:02

Airbrush everybody out of the photo except Harry, Meghan and Archie and it's a lovely shot. Proud parents with their undeniably beautiful baby, delightful.

With everyone else in, it's unharmonious. No-one's outfit matches anyone else's, including Harry and Meghan themselves who look like they've dressed for entirely different events.

I think the photographer may have been overawed. It needed someone who could get them all laughing and caught with their guard down. But hey, we wanted a photo and we've got one.

Notmyrealname855 · 07/07/2019 19:11

Tbh if I were the Sussexes I’d do exactly that! It’s a lovely one of the three of them :) personally much prefer the colour shot, would love to see more like that.

Also spare a thought for H&M if there’s any chance they weren’t very bothered by having a christening at all, and all this is just a hassle! Can’t be easy keeping a baby happy, dressing him up, arranging a service etc and trying to smile the whole time to stop more gossip!

AFifthOfKoolAid · 07/07/2019 19:16

Do people usually coordinate outfits with other attendees at a christening?

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/07/2019 19:21

I'm not sure it was a thing til William and Kate.

I think Meghan is religious so probably didn’t mind. Agree it just seems like so much effort though!

AFifthOfKoolAid · 07/07/2019 19:34

This is Lady Louise's. No stupid hats! Those were the days. Sophie looks great with the feathers, must have been relieved after a difficult birth.

I love how Kate is always so smiley, she is beautiful.

Notmyrealname855 · 07/07/2019 19:42

Oh lovely seeing the baby pics! That’s a nice shot :)

ElspethFlashman · 07/07/2019 19:47

Sophie and Edward look lovely there. They must have been ecstatic to be there that day after such a shit time.

Louise was already 5 months old at the Christening but she was pretty premature.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/07/2019 19:48

Kate loves her coordination. I think it makes for lovely photos.
For the Cambridge christenings, they would just need to check what HM was wearing then go from there. To be fair the Queen is always appropriate with Colour, I think Kate has taken a leaf out of her book.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/07/2019 19:49

The outfits in their wedding photos were VERY colour cooordinated, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to think they might do the same for the christening.

ElspethFlashman · 07/07/2019 19:54

I think they are only told what colours HM is wearing, they don't really coordinate much with each other.

Clearly Camilla wasn't told Meghan was going with white!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/07/2019 19:58

Camilla often wears white, and pale colours are considered usual for a christening.
Harry looks very continental, but he is out of step with Charles and William. It’s Detective Aunt; Harry and the green room which throws the composition

AFifthOfKoolAid · 07/07/2019 20:00

Weddings and christenings are very different occasions. I've been a bridesmaid and a godmother, only one did the central couple give a shit what I wore and whether I was coordinated.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/07/2019 20:02

Wedding parties are always colour coordinated but christenings?

OP posts:
hopeishere · 07/07/2019 20:02

I agree that you can't really tell anyone what to wear to a christening Confused and I find colour coordination bit naff.

But there's a difference between saying that is a shite photo and there's tension in the air.

threadneedle · 07/07/2019 20:25

I think the colour coordination for the Cambridge christenings makes such a difference, the photographs are really pleasing to the eye and have a timeless quality.

They did the same with Charles 70th birthday photo in blues and whites. Maybe it was the suggestion of the photographer?

MrsGrindah · 07/07/2019 20:28

I wasn’t criticising Meghan for adoring her husband .I was making the point that it’s a pose that had been repeated often in their official photos.

AdaColeman · 07/07/2019 20:37

I can understand the colour theme at the Cambridge christenings, because the main women are a daughter, mother and sister, so surely they would have said "Oh what are you wearing?" to each other.

TSSDNCOP · 07/07/2019 20:38

Love Zara's baptism with HM walking round with the baby just like any proud DM/GM.

Who sits down on the sofa arm and says "hello granny"?

Great footage.

TSSDNCOP · 07/07/2019 20:40

The composition in the Sussex photo is very poor. There's way too much green sofa to MM's right and Detective Aunt side on is poor. Plus, no one made them laugh. William looks like he just farted.

MsJuniper · 07/07/2019 20:41

I was struck by the men's coordination at the Cambridge christenings. Almost like matching wedding suits, although I think some variation in the blue shades? It brings the party together.
