Do you wear short shorts?

I nipped out to the post box today (work from home) and decided not to change out of my slumming it at home and working in the garden working from home clothes as I normally would to go out, as it is only 5 minutes away. However I suddenly felt self conscious about the fact that I was wearing shorts! Cut off denim shorts about 2/3 of the way up my thighs. (It has been scorching here today).

I hated feeling self-conscious but I feel like the skin around my thighs and above my knees has got less firm recently. (i'm 39). I do exercise regularly (running, swimming and weights) and the muscles are good, just not the saggy skin on top!

How old are you and would you wear short shorts? I.e. not long "city" shorts, and not super skimpy up your bum ones, but 2/3 up the thigh type?

What a load of old shit. I've never had a thigh gap in my entire life. I've been a size 6 and not had a 'thigh gap'. Quick someone go and tell Beyoncé she needs to put her thighs away because she doesn't have a bloody thigh gap.

I wear them out on holiday abroad I'm 58, and in the garden at home, but wouldn't wear them out in uk. Mine are short shorts but no cheeks on show.

This is depressingly true. Wear the shorts with pride. I saw a man today at the supermarket. Totally big belly, sporting shorts! Noone batted an eyelid at the ample mass in front of him. As long as they aren't up to your bum cheeks or fanny then what is the problem? Its a pair of shorts ffs.

I was at a County Show today and there were a lot of shorts wearers, tall, slim, short, overweight, young, old. Some of them looked better than others but I thought it was great. I never wear shorts, my legs are not my best feature, but I am going to buy a pair. I don't care if I look silly, I would just like the freedom.

Meh.... I’m 43 and love my denim cutoffs with a t-shirt and flip flops. I have no fucks left to give with regards to what other people think of them on me. I find them comfortable and practical for everyday wear.

I wear shorts that, when I stand, fall just above my knee. When I sit, they fall mid thigh.

Last summer, I a particularly hot day, I asked DD if she thought they looked ok. She looked me up and down and asked if they made me feel cooler, when I said they did, she asked if only people under 70 weren't allowed to be cool in the heat.

Go for it. I often wear shorts shorter than those I've described when it's very warm. I'm 70 and don't give a monkey's toss if my old a crinckely legs offend someone.

As I once read on this site, if people don't like what I look like, they have another 359 degrees to look at

Another over 40 and short shorts wearer - not short that bum cheeks hang out like my teen daughters want to wear but finish just below my bum. My legs are the only part that is aging slower than the rest of me so I'm going to show them off!

I live in them once the sun comes out - shorts, vest tops and sandals! And I don't care what anyone thinks!

Actually the 15 year old is quite happy to be seen with me dressed like that so clearly it's not too unacceptable 😂

Someone blocked me on my drive today. When she came out to move she was wearing shorts so short I could see the round of her bum cheeks poking out. Grim.

(She was so sour faced about having to move her stupid car I didn't bother to tell her about the bit I could see hanging off the underneath of it.)

I have actually been really inspired by this thread!! This weekend I decided to buy some new summery shorts to wear out this summer. As in, I'm actively going to wear them out, and not just popping to the shops!

I decided to get a pair of smartish mustard ones on ASOS which suit my skin tone, (pic attached) but whilst browsing I was side tracked by another pair for sale (see the other pic attached) .... 😂😂
