Previous thread

What neon shade will HM wear? Will the DoE attend? Will Kate have a new coat dress? Will Meghan make an appearance? And which of us will be able to identify every random Windsor on the balcony?

All will be revealed tomorrow...

The Queen told Meghan off over cake tasting?? I'd not heard that one before!

OP posts:
SenecaFalls · 10/06/2019 22:16

The reason that I think that cake-tasting or egg-in-the-whatever is made-up bollocks is that I don't think that the Queen would tell Meghan off in front of other people. The reporter might not have made up the story, but the source could have.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/06/2019 22:16

Apparently it was to do with a cake option made for her macrobiotic guests. It was reported that she insisted it had egg in it and that she could taste it. The thing is, she might have been right, maybe the kitchen got the instruction wrong or thought they could get it past her. Who knows? But it was the manner of dealing with it that got attention.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/06/2019 22:18

I also don't think it was public telling off, but someone may have overheard something. I just don't think it was entirely invented I'm afraid.

itswinetime · 10/06/2019 22:21

I have never hear the cake one either only Meghan and the queen rumour I have hear was the tiara one

I think the reason people struggle to believe the William affair rumour is when you look at William and Kate and then Charles and Diana. It's 2 very different pictures. Of course it can all be faked but William and Kate look like a happy couple and they look like a happy family so I think people Don't want to believe it.

Ultimately unless one of three parties speak out we will never know for sure

UrsulaPandress · 10/06/2019 22:23

I don’t get the impression that The Middletons are Pony Club folk.

spellingtest · 10/06/2019 22:27

I do think we should stick to dresses, however, in the recent theme of the thread my view on W&H's falling out is due to W wandering eye (and heaven forbid hand). Perhaps there was no affair (although Giles Coren lent his voice to a suggestion) and because of the clear affection between Catherine and Harry I think this is the most plausible explanation to their apparent coolness towards each other. Merely speculation but perhaps some credence?

Anyhow, what's your favourite outfit DofC and DofS have worn? For me it was the Catherine Walker pale blue coat dress (I think Australia) and DofS wearing the green leather skirt and silk shirt in Ireland.

spellingtest · 10/06/2019 22:34

This for Catherine

spellingtest · 10/06/2019 22:36

And this for Meghan (although her evening wedding dress is pretty hard to beat

derxa · 10/06/2019 22:37

I don’t get the impression that The Middletons are Pony Club folk. How fucking patronising

UrsulaPandress · 10/06/2019 22:56

Erm? How is that patronising?

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/06/2019 22:57

@spellingtest I really am not a fan of Kate's pastel coats but I really liked the Chanel suit she wore in France, her slightly retro Gucci minidress and the divisive Erdem tweed midi. Her Wimbledon outfits are always good and she's worn some beautiful evening gowns, though I've not been as keen on her more recent choices.

The green skirt and blouse was a Meghan winner for me too, as was the McQueen tux she wore to an event before her wedding, and the Stella McCartney capes dress. The Fijian blue and the white evening gowns on the trip down under were stunning, as was the sequinned Mouret at the Albert Hall.

My favourite for DoC and DoS as below. Tough to choose though - maybe we should be allowed a favourite daywear and nightwear look for each? Good call on both of those @spellingtest.

SlipperOrchid · 10/06/2019 23:01

Why is that patronising Derva?
I don't think Vogue Williams is part of the pony club 'set' either. She, however, has a degree in construction design and management which you wouldn't think from listening to her. I don't think Meghan is part of the pony club 'set' either. Different horses for courses - excuse the pun!

MotherofPearl · 10/06/2019 23:02

Cross-post on the Gucci minidress @QueenOfTheAndals!

are the photos disappearing for everyone or just me I see them but then they are gone? I want to join in but I think I will just be posting duplicates at this rate

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/06/2019 23:10

I suppose if we have to pick just one then ultimate Kate is the glitzy pink Jenny Packham evening gown, ultimate Meghan is the white Stella McCartney evening reception dress?

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/06/2019 23:11

I can't see the photos either!

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/06/2019 23:11

I can't see them either @itswinetime, perhaps a temporary MN glitch?

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/06/2019 23:14

The Oscar de la Renta dress for DoS sticks in my mind. Jenny Pacham pink shimmery one for Kate. Any favourite shoes?

MotherofPearl · 10/06/2019 23:15

@Mrsmadevans Surely not? That's my all time worst DoC dress - awful colour and pattern and so flouncy!

itswinetime · 10/06/2019 23:16

Ok I thought it was my internet well I will post them maybe they will show up eventually Grin

This are my fav Kate looks a gown an evening/day dress and a coat dress because it's Kate (surprises myself with the colour I didn't think I like Kate in pale blue but)

SlipperOrchid · 10/06/2019 23:16

The green leather skirt and green shirt is my winner too. I absolutely loved it. It was sassy and cool and sexy and just beautiful colours on her.

For Kate it has to be the rose gold Jenny Packham dress. I loved it.
