Previous thread

What neon shade will HM wear? Will the DoE attend? Will Kate have a new coat dress? Will Meghan make an appearance? And which of us will be able to identify every random Windsor on the balcony?

All will be revealed tomorrow...

Around 1:14 in that video - he does seem grumpy!

Laiste · 09/06/2019 20:51

Kate: Cumbria and sheep farming.

Hmm. What will the literal dressing be ..... ? Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/06/2019 20:56

Let's not read too much into some 10 seconds of footage though. No doubt the weird Megxiteers are salivating over it as evidence of impending divorce!!

@Laiste a flat cap and pipe?

Seems a bit unfair that the Swedish royal men don't have to wear costume too! Madeleine's husband is not officially a member of the royal family as he turned down a title.

Aww Kate does that thing that I do with my DC - she was playing with Charlotte's hair. I only really ever see still photos of her, so it's nice to see the more "normal mum" side of her. She'll definitely be in that Dubarry jacket & riding boots in Cumbria.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 09/06/2019 21:03

Maybe Kate will raid the KP cupboards and borrow one of Diana's jumpers.

Snorted at flat cap and pipe Grin

I was thinking sheepskin coat

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2019 21:14

The thought of the DofC in proper countryside is very entertaining.....

IHeartArya · 09/06/2019 21:25

Hmm well I’ve watched it & Harry seems serious to me rather than grumpy. He knows it’s going to be the national anthem so arranging his serious face. IMO

derxa · 09/06/2019 21:27

DoC will be in her Dubarry boots and quilted jacket I should imagine.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/06/2019 21:31

I know what you mean @BertrandRussell, she only seems to have visited Home Counties type countryside before.

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 09/06/2019 21:35

She's got her DofE Gold so can't have avoided the expeditions into the countryside. But that doesn't fit the narrative does it?

derxa · 09/06/2019 21:39

I think the DoC is as tough as old boots and very sporty. She'll have tramped around Balmoral plenty times.

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2019 21:41

Oh I think she’s very sporty- didn’t she play hockey for her university? But she seems very..urban..if that’s the right word.

IHeartArya · 09/06/2019 21:42

Looking at that photo of Diana I’m struck again at how young she was! What were her family thinking!!!!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/06/2019 21:47

I think Kate's pretty outdoorsy. Her life in Anglesey and Norfolk won't have been particularly urban. She's not especially horsey though. Although I could see her getting more so if the children have ponies.

BertrandRussell · 09/06/2019 21:48

“Looking at that photo of Diana I’m struck again at how young she was! What were her family thinking!!!!”
What was the nation thinking? I am old enough to remember it, an I don’t think anyone even thought about it. People just thought it was charming.

Wildorchidz · 09/06/2019 21:49

^^
This.

RhubarbIsEvil · 09/06/2019 21:51

There’s nothing urban about Norfolk, that’s for sure.

Wildorchidz · 09/06/2019 21:51

The marriage was cooked up by the Queen Mother and Diana’s grandmother Ruth, Lady Fermoy.
I don’t think either Charles or Diana were given much say.

MotherofPearl · 09/06/2019 21:51

@MissSueFlay thanks for posting those images of the jewels. That tiara in the final image is just breathtaking.

Wetdogloveshubert · 09/06/2019 21:52

The picture of Diana really reminds me of youthful pictures of my Mum. Same age(ish), same fresh faced grumps in pictures in the countryside Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/06/2019 21:53

Cumbria is proper tough farming country though, isn't it? Quite different to living at Anmer Hall. Anyway I guess they'll get presented with a somewhat sanitised version of what goes on, but the sheep shearing will be interesting to watch!

OP posts:
derxa · 09/06/2019 21:54

But she seems very..urban..if that’s the right word. But she's a trooper, Bertrand She's been involved with the Royal family for around 15 years. To me they're glorified farmers.
