Morning all, it is absolutely bucketing down here.
Waiting on yet more bras from John Lewis, am yet too find any that fit properly 🤞🏻these ones will be ok, it’s becoming a bit of a mission.
Hi also to Binky & Noodle

twosoups1972 · 10/06/2019 10:02

Hi @spagbol welcome Smile Looking forward to chatting with you.

twosoups1972 · 10/06/2019 10:07

Raining here too.

@melen fingers crossed for the bras!

I've been having a bit of a wardrobe sort out. Think my tastes have changed over the past few years and realised I don't like some of the dresses I've bought. Either jersey or drab colours (like bottle green?!) or both! I'm on the hunt for some nicer dresses, I've always stuck to above the knee but maybe I'll try some longer styles.

dontcallmelen · 10/06/2019 10:19

Soups how did the shopping go with dd’s😱
Yy taste changing, dresses are my nemesis it’s so hard finding ones that look right & talking of dresses cherries I am probably enabling a bit here but, what about just trying the anthropology one that you loved I know it was expensive, but didn’t Dh say as well that you had lots of occasions coming up, that you could wear it.

twosoups1972 · 10/06/2019 10:32

@melen we got a gorgeous prom dress for dd1, she's very happy with it. Shopping with dd3 wasn't TOO trying, she got some long shorts and t-shirts that she needs for the trip from New Look.....but had a bit of a meltdown last night over them. She's soooo self conscious about her clothes. What with the struggle over clothes, worrying about her ear-rings (they have to take them out for activities and she's worrying about doing them herself and/or them closing up), and worrying she's going to get her period on the trip....it'll be a miracle if I get her on the coach next Sunday morning!

dontcallmelen · 10/06/2019 11:34

Aww glad dd got a lovely prom dress & at least you managed to get younger dd some clothes she was happy with, here Hoping you get her on the coach.
Bought these yesterday from Wallis, always forget what nice costume jewellery they do.

Pretty Len ... I seem to wear the same earrings all the time..
I dolove them , plain simple sapphire studs DH bought for me and as I know they were so £££ , I feel I should. I took them off for a beach holiday a couple of years ago and he wanted to know why I hadnt taken them , ( worried about losing them) , ..The trouble is all my other earrings (and I have some lovely ones) havent been worn since .
Is cold and rainy here now , but persistent drizzly rather than cascading down..

twosoups1972 · 10/06/2019 12:51

Just ordered this from Mint Velvet:

noodlezoodle · 10/06/2019 16:12

Thanks Laska and Len, this is indeed the nicest corner of Mumsnet!

When I do post it tends to be at odd times because I'm in California, but I am just back from a trip home to England and did manage some Hush shopping while I was back - and thanks to this thread I knew exactly what I wanted in advance.

I ended up with the Judi pineapple shirt dress, the multi coloured Marina skirt, and the Tania top which is VERY yellow but lovely. Have also just placed a sneaky Kensington order which I didn't manage to order in time when I was home so it's now winging its way across the Atlantic to me.

ilovecherries · 10/06/2019 16:44

noodle, nice to ‘see’ you again and thank you for your kind words. Your hail sounds great. I love the pineapple dress.

Re my dress hunt - Boden offerings were a non-starter. I looked like little orphan Annie in them, they managed to simultaneously completely swamp me while at the same time feeling a bit snug. So that’s Boden and Hobbs both had the heave-ho. Waiting for the Alice Temperley still. Tried the Lilium again today and it does look better with make up but I’m not completely convinced. Hanging onto it for a bit too see - and I forgot to take pictures, which I will do, as no doubt I will have it off and on multiple times before deciding.

On a more positive note, I took my trainer-clad feet for a 7 mile run (shuffle) today, so that I could use hastags like #blessed #livingmybestlife etc 😂 (just to reassure you, although I did do the run, I didn’t do the hashtags, in case you think I’ve lost my marbles). And that project I pitched for on Friday - despite my ‘unprofessional’ footwear choices they clearly were more interested in what came out of my mouth than what I had on my feet, and I’ve had an offer. :)

twosoups1972 · 10/06/2019 17:06

Well done on the run @cherries was it raining? I've been feeling guilty as haven't been running for so long. Dh and I are doing a charity 5K run in a couple of weeks. I have no idea if I'll be able to cope with that distance as I only measure time. I can slow down to a walk if I get tired though!

dontcallmelen · 10/06/2019 17:14

Cherries ooh well done you on the new project & the running, glad you didn’t use the hashtags though😂
Shame about the Boden dresses, must admit I find the cut on most of the dresses a bit odd though.

twosoups1972 · 10/06/2019 17:27

Agree melen they look lovely in the pictures but tend to look a bit frumpy on.

cherries when is the graduation?

Laska2Meryls · 10/06/2019 17:30

Advice please! Is this linen shirt nice or fugly? I am strangely drawn.....Confused

dontcallmelen · 10/06/2019 17:32

Laska I actually like it, would look fab with pink or coral.

dontcallmelen · 10/06/2019 17:33

& after dissing boden, must admit the shirts are well made & are actually TTS.

Laska2Meryls · 10/06/2019 17:34

...it could be just boredom shopping ...was thinking maybe with my cream Jigsaw crops and my Hush khaki v vest under .. (and shirt not buttoned up)

It is cold and v wet here now also .. I have swapped all my winter Ts for summer ones in the drawers now, they are all nicely rolled Kondo style.. (but i may have peaked too soon , weather -wise !

Laska2Meryls · 10/06/2019 17:36

I have some of their linen shirts already , they are always well made and what i do like about them is that they are longer than most .

Anyone got a code? (or a £10 voucher, they are not using? )

dontcallmelen · 10/06/2019 17:47

Lol at boredom shopping, that’s what I have been doing all afternoon as well, it’s been raining here all day & have the heating on.
I’m off to Ibiza on Friday & have no mind too sort out holiday clothes as the weather is so miserable.

Ellapaella · 10/06/2019 17:48

You're all so chatty!
I bought this Hush skirt second hand on the Hush eBay selling site - anyone else got it? It could be ages old.. certainly not noticed it over last few summers. I'm not sure about it. Can I ask does it look better with black or white tops? And what shoes to wear with? I have a pair of straps silver sandals somewhere I can dig out. Not sure if it's a bit too flouncy and not really me.. I expect I'll try and sell it on.
Please excuse bruises on arms. I'm bloody covered in them due to medication and refuse to cover up because of them - they're everywhere except my face! Have some huge ones on my legs. They aren't kidding when they say blood thinners make you bruise more easily.. the other day my cuticles also just started randomly bleeding!

Laska2Meryls · 10/06/2019 17:53

It looks good with both colours ella and would with navy , khaki (and Laska's random choice.... Orange!)
Love it , great buy..
I dont remember it though.. is there an official Hush ebay site? i've never seen one (link please !)
