Is this outfit ok? (Photos)

Could you let me know if this outfit looks ok for an interview please?

The jacket and trousers aren't from the same set but I don't think it's obvious

I'm not sure if the orange and navy blue look ok (I think so)

Should I lose the belt?

Are the shoes too bold/inappropriate due to sling back?

It's a fairly senior job at a fashion company (the role isn't anything to do with fashion though!)

Thanks Smile

I think it’s lovely. Love the orange and the shoes. Good luck!

Zebrasmummy · 01/06/2019 06:27

I like it. Hope it goes well.

ChillaxingInMyKimono · 01/06/2019 06:28

It's lovely - good luck!

workwearnamechange · 01/06/2019 06:32

Thank you all! Do you think the belt is ok?

I would wear plain shoes. The rest is great.

Popskipiekin · 01/06/2019 06:34

I think it’s great. I especially like the necklace, kind of ties it all up together. Can’t quite make up my mind about the shoes they are lovely and fun and set off a trouser suit very nicely.

PandaMum88 · 01/06/2019 06:37

Looks great and the shoes are a nice fun touch. Good luck!

TipseyTorvey · 01/06/2019 06:40

I think you look great. Keep the belt. Also think the shoes are fab and add a touch of individuality. What colour bag? Good luck by the way!

workwearnamechange · 01/06/2019 06:49

Thank you. I was thinking a tan or dark brown coloured bag. I only have tan, brown or bright blue to choose from really and can't afford a new one at the moment (just getting to and from the interviews is costing me an arm and a leg in train fares!).

Which fashion company? How senior?
I don't like the top - I think it would be better with a great white blouse/shirt - something with a bit of interesting detail. Have a look at Cos.
I don't think it's smart enough as is, looks a bit casual, but really depends on where and what the job is.

WinnerWinnerChickenDinner0 · 01/06/2019 06:53

Looks good

Is the top light enough that you won’t be sweating buckets during the interview?

Good luck

Bumpdebump · 01/06/2019 06:54

And id go for a navy belt if you have one!

So white shirt, navy belt, tan bag. Statement necklace if you have one. Good luck!

HarryDaylight · 01/06/2019 07:05

Keep the belt. It pulls together the top and shoes, and looks stylish and chic. For the love of God, don't go down the "white shirt and statement necklace" route.

Good luck, you look fabulous!

wellhonestly · 01/06/2019 07:19

I think it looks great.

I would prob go for a slightly longer necklace - the one you're wearing is lovely but kindof interferes with the neckline of the top.

Good luck with the interview!

Pinotjo · 01/06/2019 07:24

You've nailed it, don't change anything, I'd go black bag, tan might be too much, the top and shoes break the black up enough, don't over do it with a tan bag

MairzyDoats · 01/06/2019 07:24

I'd go for a short with a collar rather than the top for an interview but love the suit, shoes and belt, you look really good in it.

Handbag101 · 01/06/2019 07:39

Awwww you look fantastic OP. It looks fab.

pilates · 01/06/2019 07:41

Love it 💕

Fairylea · 01/06/2019 07:44

I think it’s really nice but if I had to be really picky I’d say the trousers look a little too casual - are they twill / denim? Or maybe it’s just the lighting in the photo. Ignore me if they’re not! I think the shoes are really nice especially for the industry.

DameSquashalot · 01/06/2019 07:47

I'm with Bumpdebump...I think it looks quite casual for an interview. It has been years since I've been for an interview, so I'm probably out of touch.

ChillaxingInMyKimono · 01/06/2019 07:49

Really - don't go down the white shirt route - your outfit is much better.

KittyMcKitty · 01/06/2019 07:56

I think it’s a nice outfit but wouldn’t wear it to an interview. The trousers look like jeans in the photo (I think it’s the cut). It all looks a bit casual and the jacket / trousers combo a bit frumpy. Sorry I sound harsh but I’m trying to be honest.

The shoes are great. Have you a skirt or dress you could wear instead? Personally I’d go for a midi / maxi dress, the shoes and a well fitting jacket with a good bag.

That said you’re wearing the clothes and know best about the company/ job.

GeorgeTheFirst · 01/06/2019 07:59

It's great. Keep the belt.
