Is this outfit ok? (Photos)

Could you let me know if this outfit looks ok for an interview please?

The jacket and trousers aren't from the same set but I don't think it's obvious

I'm not sure if the orange and navy blue look ok (I think so)

Should I lose the belt?

Are the shoes too bold/inappropriate due to sling back?

It's a fairly senior job at a fashion company (the role isn't anything to do with fashion though!)

Thanks Smile

You look great!
Best of luck. Let us know how you get on.
Ps Where are the shoes from? 😁

Tapas for two - I fully understand that is the case for some , and I don’t think I have suggested OP wears everyday work clothing (however I wear fairly corporate style to work and don’t change that for interviews).

What I am actually saying is you don’t necessarily need to dress in a harsh corporate style for interviews (for this industry it probably isn’t necessary unless that is your normal style)- shoes don’t necessarily need to be court black or navy as they often do in the legal profession.

Please don’t patronise me😁. I function fairly successfully in a working environment and have participated in and chaired dozens of recruitment panels. I wouldn’t withhold a job offer because someone wore patterned heels.

I really think we've moved away from stuffy interview dressing these days.

You will look great, much more put together than a suit and white shirt.

Good luck!

In the first pic the jacket looks as though it has shiny patches/white marks - check if that is true in real life as it looks a bit scruffy.
I agree keep the belt, and I would go for tan bag or possibly bright blue but please not black with that outfit.
Agree with pp re hair, make up and general grooming.

Good luck.

Pinkyyy · 01/06/2019 10:30

OP I would try a blouse (just a plain t-shirt style one, not button up) and see if you think it looks better. A brown top and belt and bag is going to be a bit of brown overkill. Unless you have a different belt?

RidgedPerfection · 01/06/2019 10:44

I think you look really good.

baubled · 01/06/2019 11:20

I think it's perfect for a fashion company, even in a senior position I would imagine they're still style conscious.

Elllllle · 01/06/2019 11:37

Agree wearing one visible thing from the brand is thing the most important thing to do

dyouwantfrieswiththat · 01/06/2019 11:38

Love it. You look great - Good luck

secondbabyforme · 01/06/2019 11:42

I like the outfit, but I guess I'm in a minority about the shoes. They just don't look very 'grown up' to me.

CountFosco · 01/06/2019 12:27

Looks great. I suspect for a fashion brand then you'll have a lot more leeway than in other industries. I agree with a PP that a tan bag might be too much tan though, I'd either go navy bag or a navy belt to reduce that but your dark brown bag might be OK. Think the tan belt looks good though and it's easy to sit here and pick over your outfit and insist you change X or Y so you look perfect but in reality at the end of the day as long as you are smart enough they won't care.
