Thanks for the new thread Queen sorry a bit late to the game!

Not a fan of Kate's garden party outfit, the dress shape I am fine with but not the colour, it's not a nice pink. Liked her culottes and Superga's and the Erdem.

pinkladyapples · 22/05/2019 11:43

Here is Max yesterday looking great.

I love Max's dress!

I have a housekeeper and I grew up in a house with one too, no I’m not that poster who Harry sneaked into her flat to use the loo. Grin

I think it really depends on the family’s lifestyle.

ours doesn’t cook meals, but sets the table and does the cleaning after, also she doesn’t do the regular food Shop . She knows I do fresh food on sat/Thurs. but if something runs out, she would go and buy it.
she does the household cleaning agents, kitchen/toilet rolls..etc. order from Ocado or Amazon.

She will do the laundry, mending. general house cleaning, floors need special care and she does an excellent job.

Call/arrange for service for things like boiler/WiFi /washing machine carpet cleaners ...etc

Returns/store pick up.

She doesn’t do babysitting duties regularly , we have someone come in at the weekends, but If we are out for the evening on weekdays she doesn’t mind staying a bit longer, or spends the night.

queenofarles · 22/05/2019 12:06

Oh I don’t think M&H are without any help.

I remember reading how K&W refused the idea of hiring a nanny and wanted Carole to help them with babysitting instead, and I said to one of my friends,ha! Let’s see how long it lasts! It didn’t.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 22/05/2019 12:32

If being a royal isn’t a reason to wear a brooch at every opportunity I don’t know what is, it’s a dying art she could go someway to revive.

So true.

IHeartArya · 22/05/2019 12:42

Good point Nink

banivani · 22/05/2019 12:49

Poor Kate - told to wear more British designers and then when she promotes Erdem (I count that as British) she gets huffy comments.

I'm not fond of the Erdem fussiness with ruffles AND lace AND puffy sleeves AND prints, because I love the prints and think they speak for themselves, but it's definitely a special look that a) feels very British (important!) and b) is memorable. I'd jump at a simpler style of Erdem myself.

IMO Kate can carry them well. Also, I think that not even Kate owes everyone pretty, and if she wants to wear high necks and "unflattering" cuts she may.

Spudlet · 22/05/2019 13:05

Also, I think that not even Kate owes everyone pretty, and if she wants to wear high necks and "unflattering" cuts she may.

That's a very good point. Maybe she wants to dress for herself a bit more than for everyone else - good for her if that's the case.

queenofarles The idea of having someone to do all the life admin like boiler services and things sounds wonderful!

Wetdogloveshubert · 22/05/2019 13:07

HM is looking glorious today in a lovely fresh colour. Hoorah for such gorgeous weather for her recent outings!

Wetdogloveshubert · 22/05/2019 13:08

I meant to add... note the brooch Wink and hint of a lovely patterned dress underneath.

RatherBeRiding · 22/05/2019 13:20

HM certainly knows how to wear a brooch! And she has such a lovely collection - I agree Kate needs to start her own collection.

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/05/2019 14:25

Two good dresses from CPM. I'd love to know what's causing her to be so animated in some of the shots.

Our former cleaner was offered a live out house keepee post by another family she cleaned for. She took it and was on v good money (London) but she said it was really full on. She was given a housekeeping credit card and literally run the household -from advance meals (she didn’t serve the family just filled their freezer with batch cooking) to cleaning, school drop off and pick up to odd household tasks. She also ran the family calendar so everyone knew where everyone was or any commitments after work/school.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 22/05/2019 14:54

@queenofarles
Who does your cooking then?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 22/05/2019 14:56

A house keeper sounds like a wife! Excellent
So all men have one and no women have them.

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 22/05/2019 14:57

CPM does look very animated and happy in those pics. Love the orangy red dress and the colour suits her.

I think that not even Kate owes everyone pretty, and if she wants to wear high necks and "unflattering" cuts she may.

I agree. I must say, although it's fashion / style linked, I hate it when women are critised for covering too much/ too little skin. I myself, prefer a higher neckline, top of arms covered and dresses that cover my knees.

I do really hate the erdem dresses on anyone though. The patterns, ruffles, frills, poofy sleeves, etc are just too much. I don't understand what makes them so popular with so many rich women. It feels very "emperors new clothes" to me.

queenofarles · 22/05/2019 15:24

The Queen looked fabulous as ever!

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/05/2019 15:46

Hilarious piece by Hadley Freeman on some of the fashions at the weekend Windsor wedding.

OP posts:
queenofarles · 22/05/2019 15:48

Curly I do! I really love cooking. Just not the cleaning up after,Grin

We live centrally, so if we fancy something different, it’s all just a short walk away.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 22/05/2019 15:51

Heres Francesco Casiraghi son of Beatrice Borremeo turning one?
You thought Louis was gorgeous? Look at this scrumptious toddler.

SenecaFalls · 22/05/2019 16:02

That Hadley Freeman article is truly hilarious. And, I have to say, my sentiments exactly.

BlingLoving · 22/05/2019 16:29

I have to agree with her though. The fashion at that wedding was awful. I get as bored by the coat dress as the next person, but there's got to me some middle ground. eg I actually quite liked both Pippa's dresses (although I know lots of people loathed them on here).

DobbyTheHouseElk · 22/05/2019 16:45

Gosh you’ve all galloped on without me.

HMQ looked a bit lame in the Chelsea clip.

Wellington School is very minor, I went to a school nearish, and it’s significantly cheaper than most others.

I’m surprised Doria has gone home so soon, I’d have thought she’d have hung around a bit longer.
