I agree @TracyBeakerSoYeah

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/05/2019 22:34

Thanks @Paradyning & excuse me for my tardiness but congratulations on birth of Mini P.

Wonder if any of the Royals have done the DoE Award themselves?

When I was at Buckingham Palace last week Wink Beatrice said she had only managed to do her Bronze Grin

As, to be fair, has the mountaineer who presented dd's group with their certificates Grin

Prince Edward has been involved / supportive of the DofE awards for many years.

I should have asked on this thread last week. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can see photos of what the Royals have been up to ? My dd was talking to Beatrice for a while. We weren't allowed to take any photos but the official photographer took several - presumably they must post some of them, somewhere?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 23/05/2019 22:48

@DotOnTheHorizon I love a workwear cardigan! No longer have a need for them but I have draped many a chair with them in my time.

@Daisypie I so agree with your post. The DoC earned her wings over a long apprenticeship. Meghan has a way to go before she can claim similar status. Even then she will always be junior to Kate because of the positions of their respective husbands. She doesn't seem to have understood that yet.

Paradyning · 23/05/2019 22:58

Was this it @BackforGood?

Yes, Paradyning. Thank you. We were there in the afternoon. I was just wondering if there were websites or accounts on Facebook or Instagram or links to magazines or something that I don't know about, that might have more of the photos they took. Smile

itswinetime · 23/05/2019 23:08

I know with garden parties you can buy official photos I think they send you a link after you have been at least I think that's how it works so I would have thought it would have been the event organisers that would have access.

Side note I like the pink dress Sophie was wearing in the link especially with the leather jacket another win for me.

IHeartArya · 23/05/2019 23:12

The press will find a story even if there isn’t one. She could have cut herself with the vegetable knife or Louis could have bitten her. Two very common scenarios.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/05/2019 23:30

If Louis is anything like my DD was as a toddler, nothing will be safe from his teeth......even the animals SmileShock

Gooseysgirl · 24/05/2019 07:23

I get hand eczema. It can very uncomfortable when you get a patch on a finger - I would imagine that is why she has the plasters sometimes. I do the same.

Gooseysgirl · 24/05/2019 07:24

(And the DM are such a bunch of shit-stirring aresholes)

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/05/2019 07:24

The Luxembourg royals were out and about earlier this week. Stephanie's dress is a bit boring but Maris Teresa looks as stylish as ever. But I'm not so keen on them after how Tessy has been treated! Her ex Louis is there - I imagine in a few years time he'll find someone more "suitable" and Tessy and her children will be forgotten...

Video of princess Alexandra’s wedding. Princess Benedikte (sister of Queen Margrethe and mother of the bride) was in attendance, as was princess Martha-Louise and her new beau.

super poster? I feel this is a hint but I'm still not sure Blush pm me someone pls otherwise Im going to spend hours going back through the threads

Horsemad · 24/05/2019 11:09

Yes, could somebody PM me too please, too many threads to go back over! 😁

itswinetime · 24/05/2019 11:18

I have to say it feels a bit mean to be talking about someone no longer in the threads like this. These threads have always tried to be. What's done is done but going over it like these feels a bit uncomfortable to me.

RhubarbIsEvil · 24/05/2019 11:28

I would say that Kate has been getting her garden ready for Chelsea, for a scratch and put a tonne of savlon and plasters in it so that she doesn’t get sepsis. Because that’s what I do and thank goodness no one says “why have you got a plaster on your finger?”

TighnaBan · 24/05/2019 12:09

I'm a long time lurker and I'm only breaking cover to agree with @itswinetime. I've lurked since the beginning and so was 'present' for the poster being discussed and the subsequent fallout, but this discussion now and the snide comments is all rather unpleasant and a bit school bully like. It's putting a really sour edge on what, to date, has been a really pleasant series of threads.

I perhaps don't have much right to comment given I've just lurked, but I just thought I'd pipe up in support of the requests to just let it all lie rather than risk the threads being spoiled.

BlingLoving · 24/05/2019 12:12

@rhubarb - yes, even Richard Palmer said on twitter earlier that she's been at least 6 times that he knows of and was there this morning (or last night) watering the garden. I imagine that level of constant gardening would lead to a few scratches and the need for a plaster.

On the school governor thing - anyone who applies at our school gets it. If there are too many applications, it goes to a vote (for parent governor) so it's not a case of them rejecting parents. The parents just don't want to take the time and deal with the aggravation (I'll apply in a year or two but after 2 years as head of the PTA I needed to distance myself from things for a while.) I have no issue with them trying to get the best parent governor, but would be sad if schools had gaps in their governing body because they were rejecting people. Especially parents.

AudacityOfHope · 24/05/2019 12:45

C'mon guys, asking for PMs so you can gleefully pore over someone's old posts? Hmm

That poster was sent packing in the politest way I've ever seen on here. Can we just leave it at that, rather than go out of our way to point and laugh?

pinkladyapples · 24/05/2019 13:06

I think I remember the poster and some of her posts but no idea what happened and why she left the threads. Anyway I don't think it is very relevant to keep talking about her.

pinkladyapples · 24/05/2019 13:07

Maxima in another Natan dress yesterday.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/05/2019 13:12

Agree, @pinkladyapples. The posts weren't gripping as they are starting to sound, best to move on.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/05/2019 13:32

Just going back to the DofE award. Sophie has the Gold. I’m trying to find the video of where she cycles back through the gates of BP as she completes her challenge.
She is so game; and really throws herself into her patronages. I’ll never forget how engaged she was in India last month with the premature babies. I think she is my favourite Royal.

Here’s her dresses at the recent garden parties.
She apparently wore this pink Emilia Wickstead, although this photo is from Ascot. I thought Edward looked good in his morning dress and top hat.

Re the Chelsea garden both the Mirror and Sun reporting earlier today (Aus time) that Kate's "kiddies" begged for an extra trip into see her garden because it was so amazing (TBF, it was very cool!).

So were in by 7.15am (British time) today Friday, and out before the gates opened at 8am. I hope it's true. Because it's a beautiful garden, and Kate does seem proud.

As she should - it's fab for her to have meaningful projects beyond choosing her next outfit. She's a bright young woman, who seems to be a being a driving force behind an amazing family. Full credit.
