Just had a peek at the Peter Pilotto website. I've found the dress I would wear to the evening do of a glamorous wedding! A snip at 3k£.

A sort of medieval pointy hat?

(That was for Grumble btw)

keiratwiceknightly · 22/05/2019 22:27

I see the DM has a snide article speculating about Kate's hand plasters again. Nasty.

GrumbleBumble · 22/05/2019 22:37

Yep keiratwiceknightly that's the one (it's called a stepple hennin and they were fashionable for a brief part of the 15th century before having the top of the point removed to become the more practical truncated hennin - I knew my knowledge of 15th century fashion would come in handy if I hung around here for long enough).

BlingLoving · 22/05/2019 22:44

I don't do DM. What hand plaster theory?

Wineloffa · 22/05/2019 22:45

Argh I wish Eugenie would move away from those high necklines! They do not flatter a fuller bust. She needs to experiment with a V neck.

ElspethFlashman · 22/05/2019 22:45

I would make a decent bet it's eczema. There's a type that I have called dyshidrotic eczema which is primarily on the sides of the fingers. It's harmless and I don't wear plasters or anything as most people wouldn't notice but I probably would if I was one of the most scrutinised women in the world.

You basically get these tiny bubbles on the side of your fingers which burst and leave little raw patches.

I'm not really sure what else would make you wear plasters fairly frequently tbh.

RhubarbIsEvil · 22/05/2019 22:52

Maybe Louis is biting her and leaving teeth marks?

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/05/2019 23:01

I get that too @ElspethFlashman, very randomly!

MotherofPearl · 22/05/2019 23:05

Good knowledge @Gooseysgirl! I think she looks great in that dress.

pastaparadise · 22/05/2019 23:54

i can imagine Kate got a gold DofE award. Outdoorsy and conscientious. wasnt she head girl at school or am i imagining that?

Inniu · 23/05/2019 00:22

If she has eczema on her hands and shakes hands all day she probably needs the plasters to stop it getting irritated

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 23/05/2019 03:33

My hands are covered in plasters when I've been gardening. My fingernails are shredded too!

Spudlet · 23/05/2019 06:01

I get very very dry skin between my fingers in winter. Quite often it cracks and bleeds, and it doesn't look great either! I'd definitely stick plasters on if I was doing lots of meeting and greeting!

latedecember1963 · 23/05/2019 06:50

I know I'm a bit of a softie, but I used to think that beneath the bravado of our old friend's posts was someone who wasn't as sure of herself as she liked to portray.
She had lots of money and status but also seemed very hide bound by following "the rules".
Some gorgeous dresses on the royal ladies this week, but agree that Edward's double breasted suits need to go. My DH wore double breasted throughout the 80s and 90s until he was persuaded into single breasted and it took years off him.

evilharpy · 23/05/2019 06:55

Maybe if we all post about Edward's suits on M&H's instagram they'll see it and pass the message on Grin

RhubarbIsEvil · 23/05/2019 06:58

Kate definitely has obtained the DoE gold award. She told a story about her exercise when they couldn’t light their camping stoves as it was raining so hard so they had to eat sandwiches instead.

RhubarbIsEvil · 23/05/2019 06:59

evilharpy you first!! Grin

FlyMayBe · 23/05/2019 07:22

I think our 'old friend' was not all that they claimed to be. A number of their posts were factually inaccurate. Just saying...

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/05/2019 07:25

Go for it @evilharpy. With the new baby, Megs must be Mumsnetting and Instagramming during night feeds and will be on the WoW (Wives of Windsor) WhatsApp to Sophie, pronto!

And speaking of feeds, I wonder what the DM would do if she was at an event with Archie and put him on the boob when he started crying? They'd spontaneously combust, as would AIBU!

wow some very pretty dresses on peter pilotto - but Eugenies doesn't seem to be for sale...

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/05/2019 08:25

I over wash my hands when my anxiety it bad. It leaves them really dry and chapped. My knuckles and fingers have little cracks which bleed, I have to use plasters because randomly they open and start bleeding. Not nice to look at or with all the shaking hands to keep the wound clean.
