Can you help me find a cool toned lipstick please? The search is driving me up the wall

I want a natural looking lip stick or a crayon or even a gloss but it must be a cool toned shade.

Mustn't be brown at all as that looks grim on me.

I keep finding ones that are just a bit too pink and I almost need a dirty lavender pink ,if that makes sense?

Rimmel has one in Vintage Pink that I like a lot. It's a bit hit and miss though - suits me very well, makes a friend look dead! I think it's because it's very cool toned.

I have Vintage Pink, I love it but it's a bit full on for every day for me.

Oh that's good sounds like we've got a similar skin tone - the Clinique one should suit you then.

I may be the only person, but the Clnique chubby sticks do nothing for me. I feel like I may as well be using an expensive lipbalm! The colour payoff and lasting time are next to nil.

I am the same as you, OP - thin lips and only suit very cool tones. I found two Elizabeth Arden Gelato push-up lipsticks that are very sheer and in colours that really suits - Black Cherry and Grape Affair.

They look really dark purple in the tube but are much less frightening once they go on - similar to the intense Chubby Sticks.

Failing that, Mac Mehr is the other lipstick I wear regularly. A proper cool-toned pink.

I think Mehr is too dark but Faux looks like it might suit me better.

I wish I had lips that any old lippy would suit !!!

Mehr is lovely but it's very dense with it being matte.

My go to everyday is Glossier Generation G lipstick. It's like my lips but better: sheer colour but not like a balm. It stays put well. Love love love it.

Oh, I came to recommend Vintage Pink too. I found it strong at first but I have stopped thinking that now! It doesn’t last well on me though so I may try some of the other recommendations.

Mac Faux is amazing for the cool toned amongst us!! It’s the ‘my lips but better’ for me.

Max factor rosewood! I always get complimented on it

In pictures it looks very pink but is definitely cooler on me

And I use nyx nude mechanical lipliner as a base

In the John Lewis app there is a feature which allows you to test colours on your lips using the camera on your phone. Nearly everything looks hilariously hideous on me, also very cool toned. I’ve just tried mehr and faux as mentioned above and they both look pretty good! Definitely worth a play to see if anything works.

YSL Rouge vernis (05) for going out

Max Factor Factor Lipfinity in pearly nude (001). I use lip liner, a thin layer of the Lipfinity and don't bother with the gloss. It lasts all day too.
