Any guesses on what Meghan will wear to introduce baby Sussex? I'm guessing Givenchy as it's her go-to designer for big events.

Then again she could surprise us all and come out in a JoJo Maman Bébé breastfeeding tunic!

Awwwww he's divine 🥰 I expect we'll have a name once he's met his great grandma HMQ!

catofaragon · 08/05/2019 13:16

I thought they looked lovely - so proud and happy. I'm not a huge Meghan fan, but my opinion today changed - she looked sweet, vulnerable, happy and protective. All the things you would expect to see in a new mum. Lovely.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/05/2019 13:17

I too thought she wanted to be holding the baby. I can see why he was holding baby as she was wearing heels and a bit fragile.

So so cute, aww. Those happy early days when you are on a high.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/05/2019 13:17

Well, that was sweet. Baby looks lovely, the little we could see. Whoever chose her outfit, especially the heels, should be taken out and shot, but lovely to see her looking so well and the two of them so happy.

queenofarles · 08/05/2019 13:18

Oh what a Cute baby!!
They both look so happy .

But really sorry to say this but that’s terrible choice for dress,

motheroftinydragons · 08/05/2019 13:18

These royal babies are always very well behaved! Always just lie there sleeping beautifully. They must have impeccable timing to get a moment in front of the media where they don't decide to wail their little heads off Grin

Watching the the video she did look a bit staggery in her shoes walking in. She must still be quite uncomfortable I imagine, I remember that walking like a cowboy feeling only too well. Hope she gets to kick those heels off the minute she's off camera. I know she's meeting HMQ but surely in private they won't be expected to stand on ceremony - she is Granny after all whose been there and done it herself!

motheroftinydragons · 08/05/2019 13:20

I worked for Hobbs in the early 00s. Kate's blazer reminds me very much of the styles that were stocked in there at the time, it was much more of an older lady shop way back when before it got bought out and modernised.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/05/2019 13:21

I’m sure they don’t stand on ceremony in private. Im sure they relax a bit and change shoes. I am concerned for her cream dress though. I hope she has a spare outfit incase. I wore black joggers for a while in those early days.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 13:22

"taken out and shot" is a bit extreme. What if she chose it herself?

queenofarles · 08/05/2019 13:26

Kates jacket is very Patsy stone Shock

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/05/2019 13:26

OK well maybe don't shoot Meghan, but imho it didn't look nice, wasn't done up, she couldn't walk properly in the heels and now she's got to meet HMQ and the DoE. Probably could have chosen something easier to wear given she's just had a baby.

evilharpy · 08/05/2019 13:27

This is absolutely not criticising/bitching but I thought MM's hand looked a bit swollen. When I was in theatre I had a cannula inserted wrongly and my hand swelled up like a balloon. Makes me wonder if she had to have some intervention/not the easiest time.

Anyway they both look over the moon, I could only see the video and not hear the sound at work, so I don't know what they said but they're both beaming.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 13:27

Now she's got to meet a 93 year old woman and a 97 year old man, what she is wearing is the most important thing.

Looking 'nice' is probably not her priority right now.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/05/2019 13:28

Looking 'nice' is probably not her priority right now.

Exactly my point, @AFifthOfKoolAid

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 08/05/2019 13:29

I like to think that Prince Philip and Meghan will both be in trackie bottoms and trainers whilst cooing over the baby together behind the scenes. Not sure I can imagine the Queen doing the same though but who knows ... maybe she's straight into comfy slacks and crocs whenever she gets the slightest chance.

queenofarles · 08/05/2019 13:30

.I wore black joggers for a while in those early days. same here,
I was constantly cold, so was always bundled up In joggers and cardigan.

RatherBeRiding · 08/05/2019 13:30

I thought she looked very uncomfortable, poor thing. Radiant as ever, and very happy, but definitely walking awkwardly and probably having to hang on to Harry's arm. She also seemed at a loss with what to do with her hands. A looser dress and lower chunkier shoes might have been more sensible, but she is a heels lover through and through!

I imagine they are both highly relieved to have got the photo-call out of the way and can now kick back and relax!

Spudlet · 08/05/2019 13:30

Oh bless them. They've got that slightly shellshocked new baby look about them!

I hope she gets out of those heels now and they get some time to rest up and get into the groove of being a family. I guess they perhaps want to make sure all the family knows the name and perhaps privately tell the Queen before they release it, which seems fair.

katienana · 08/05/2019 13:33

I thought it was lovely, I did laugh when Harry said "he's got facial hair" I think we will get to hear lots about this baby because he can't help sharing! I wonder if Meg will say "WTF did you say that" as they go off to see the Queen...

motheroftinydragons · 08/05/2019 13:36

Bear in mind that whenever we see pictures of HMQ off duty in her own environment she's decidedly casual. Out driving etc, she dresses in wax jackets etc. Also how informal she is with her grandchildren - the video someone posted on one of the earlier threads where she had them around the horses and stories of her properly rollicking them when they were naughty as children. William has told stories of her roaring at him for messing about on quad bikes I think it was with Zara.

I very much doubt when she's with a family member in private who's just given birth she's going to expect her to be suited and booted, curtsying to her. I would hope not, anyway.

Perhaps when they bumped into Philip Harry was like 'Grandad, tell Granny to stick the kettle on will you, we'll be along in a minute' Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 08/05/2019 13:36

I wonder if Meg will say "WTF did you say that" as they go off to see the Queen...

😂😂😂

Spudlet · 08/05/2019 13:39

I have to admit, I had a little wry smile when they said how calm he is. At two days old, they have the night of the milk coming in on the way... memorable in this house as The Night When We All Cried (though thankfully not all at once). Twas not fun.

Enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts guys...!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 08/05/2019 13:40

I thought her dress was similar to the engagement photo call dress. Cream, wrap with a tie waist. Well to me it looked similar.m

Aww, hope they are putting feet up now.

I missed the “live” bit. Was it 12.45pm ish? When does HMQ have lunch? DofE was pottering around and they bumped into him, maybe they are nipping in for lunch with HMQ?

frugalkitty · 08/05/2019 13:40

I’m not quite sure how that’s different to the way Kate did it, after all the fuss that was made about doing things differently to be honest. She was still in tights and heels, and looked like being upright was a struggle. She’s certainly got a glow about her, and the baby looked very sweet. Still waiting for the name......
