Previous thread

Any guesses on what Meghan will wear to introduce baby Sussex? I'm guessing Givenchy as it's her go-to designer for big events.

Then again she could surprise us all and come out in a JoJo Maman Bébé breastfeeding tunic!

I know it's been done to death but I would have though this type of "photoshoot" would be more stressful than a quick photo on the steps of the hospital.

And more invasive. I've always hoped Kate did the pics then was straight home to pjs and back into bed.

Now she's going to be having a full hair and make up and stress when she could be snuggling her baby.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 07:23

I’d forgotten about the Christening.
Yes that will probably be the next time we see the baby.
Meghan probably won’t appear at Trooping the colour this year; it’s on the 8th June so will probably be ebf and have Doria to help for a while
.
Baby will probably only be seen as often as Louis in his first year. Possibly less as Louis was photographed for Charles 70th which was a one off.

There’s been talk of a visit to Africa this year, but I don’t see it as trip to the US was postponed as the baby was going to be too small. I can’t see a trip to Africa being any less gruelling.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 07:31

I don’t know @hopeishere
It’s only 1 reporter and one cameraman.
I just can’t imagine Kate giving birth knowing everyone outside knew what was going on, and then she had to look polished for photos which will be published in 30 years when her children, especially George become parents.

Sounds like Meghan had a quick labour, so she’s had a bit longer to recover. I presume the birth + 2 days date of photo shoot was only agreed once the baby was born and Meghan agreed that she felt up to it. They could have said a week if she was recovering from a harder birth. The date of the pictures was not announced before the baby was born, so was withing H&M m’s control

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 07:40

It’s currently Ramadan. I think this is a gorgeous video of the Jordanian RF breaking their fast with family.

I’m not Muslim and couldn’t have the discipline to not even drink water all day!

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 07:42

Lol you think Kate didn't have full hair and makeup for her three hospital steps photocalls?

No, give me the comfort of being indoors after a couple of days with a photographer and journalist I have chosen, over having a billion cameras in my face and a scrum middle aged men bellowing my name at me while their multiple flashbulbs blind me and my newborn.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 07:47

I can't find anything online about where the photo call will be - how do people known it's Windsor?

She may be at the Trooping @CurlyWurlyTwirly. Kate went last year when Louis was only a couple of months old.

From reading the posts here I'm beginning to think Kate's way was actually easier....pose and wave, throw in a few 'bit tired' 'he's lovely' comments, then get in the car and go home to put pjs on. Today's photo shoot (if that's what it is) sounds like more effort to me.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 07:51

Why do you think that? It will probably be a couple of quick snaps - baby, mum and baby, mum dad and baby. I doubt it is a full OK Magazine feature...

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 07:52

Maybe they'll do the shoot in PJs. Bookmark me.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 07:53

They can't win can they? Do it on the steps and they're copying Kate. Arrange a photo call a few days after the birth and they should've done it like Kate!

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/05/2019 07:54

I don’t know @queen, Kate lived down the road at KP and already had a well established nanny.

Re the thé DM has said it will be at Windsor.
Apparently Gayle King, a CBS reporter will have an American cameraman added to the PA pool. Not sure if Gayle King is actually asking questions.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 07:56

If it was me I know I'd prefer to wait a few days for photos so that I can get some rest and heal. Appearing dolled up on hospital steps and wearing tights when you're dealing with postnatal bleeding and possible stitches is not my idea of fun!

Anyway we don't even know what there will be today, whether it's a photo call or just the release of photos. I assume the former but they haven't confirmed anything yet.

That should say re: the photo shoot.

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 07:57

Cross post, just seen the DM story.

Just from the way people are discussing it on this thread, making it sound like it will be photos and an interview. It comes across as (on this thread) it will be more like a Hello type offering, not just a couple of posed photo and a statement. I guess if she'd hoped for a homebirth this is more in keeping with that, although I'm not that bothered how they do it, I'd just like to see the baby and find out what they've called him.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 07:59

The Daily Mail, arbiters of truth and wisdom.

Yea Queen. They She will get shit whatever she does, people seem intent on disliking her.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 08:00

People discussing on the thread are just guessing. We know jack shit, let's be honest!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 08:03

The Mail is trying to stir about Gayle King being invited to the photo call, saying overseas broadcasters usually aren't. But they've never had an American in the family before so that'll be why!

The American media are bound to take more of an interest in the couple, just like how the Australian press are obsessed with CP Mary. It really isn't something to get frothy about.

gingercat02 · 08/05/2019 08:03

I think baby Sussex will be televised not just stills. Indoors if their weather is like ours. Meg and baby sitting, Harry standing. I think he will have the baby at some point.
Clothes wise. Baby white with a hint of blue. Harry shabby chic and Meghan I have no idea, I would like gorgeous sloppy jumper and leggings, but I think she could well go full high end designer

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/05/2019 08:03

Well, never had an American apart from a certain Mrs Simpson!

OP posts:
AFifthOfKoolAid · 08/05/2019 08:04

We don't even know that she had hoped for a home birth. That was pure speculation. A rumour that may be true, or a rumour that ran away with itself.

catofaragon · 08/05/2019 08:14

I love Camilla's black and white outfit. She looks really stylish and the colours suit her.

hopeishere · 08/05/2019 08:22

No I realise Kate had full hair and make up but four minutes in public compared with a photoshoot which can take longer to set up, light, review etc etc.

But I think Meghan is more media aware (not an expert) and wants to control (in a good way) their image.

BertrandRussell · 08/05/2019 08:30

Whatever she does-it’ll be wrong.

GrumbleBumble · 08/05/2019 08:37

Didn't the notice before the birth say there would be one TV camera, one stills camera and one journalist? Harry's see you guys in a couple of days at the birth announcement suggests it will be a similar set up to that. (But probably seated inside rather than standing in a stable yard) Wink
