Dobby it could.be another two. My son was born at 42+3 nothing was done to try an shift him only I was 42 (nothing medical I tried everything I could think of). No doubt on dates as he was IVF.

Laiste · 27/04/2019 17:13

''GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat - I’ve just realised when I was reading Giles Coren, I was actually thinking of Gyles Brandreth''

Same! Grin

I kept thinking ... but he seems so nice? ...

escapade1234 · 27/04/2019 17:55

Going back to Giles Coren, his wife Esther Walker writes really well. I used to read her blog recipe rifle, vaguely about cooking and fashion but really chatty and searingly honest. She seems like she might roll her eyes at her husband a lot

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 27/04/2019 18:02

I really don't know why the D&DOS are playing this game with the public. Why be deliberately vague about the due date unless you are trying to amp up the interest? Surely the best thing would be to say up front when it's due and avoid the weeks of speculation.

As you can tell, patience is not one of my virtues,

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/04/2019 18:16

If you were in their position you would be wise to announce the pregnancy as late as possible and suggest a due date later than reality to avoid the "when's it due?" speculation ramping up. By saying it was a spring baby a lot of people have been expecting it since early March.

The problem they've created for themselves is announcing it ridiculously early for no good reason. She hasn't had hyperemesis and she didn't cancel her visits to Zika-risk areas so there was no reason at all to announce it when they did. A non-existent or barely- there bump can easily be disguised and they're not short of money for well-tailored clothes.

I'd say that they announced early because they were over-excited rather than attention-seeking, but the indiscretion of her friends may have led them to believe it was better for them to announce it rather than someone mentioning it on a chat show.

GrumbleBumble · 27/04/2019 18:31

Oh FFS this isn't a H&M attention seeking thing + the RF don't publicise due dates. We've never had an EDD for Kate - the parking restrictions at the Lindo Wing have been a clue. Due dates are not exact as I said above I went to 42+3 on a conception that we know to a to a 12 hour window and then it was a section because there was no sign of progress with pessary, waters broken and the drip. If we were told the EDD was 24th April what difference would it make? There would still be speculation and where is this baby talk.

historyismything · 27/04/2019 18:35

Not attention seeking? We have had 9months of bump cupping how is it anything but??

FFSeverynameisused · 27/04/2019 18:38

people will be so pissed off if the baby has been born and they took days to announce it. I know the media will be pissed and suspect they may be under orders not to say anything. I suspect the baby's been born already as there were a few articles about the "upcoming" baby yesterday after a period of silence.

GrumbleBumble · 27/04/2019 18:48

The problem they've created for themselves is announcing it ridiculously early for no good reason. They were on tour putting in multiple events every day. By announcing at the start of the tour it meant they didn't have to then do an on the spot announcement if pregnancy + jet leg + busy schedule meant she had to pull out of any engagements (which I seem to recall she did do one afternoon).

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 27/04/2019 18:51

Pretty sure baby has yet to arrive.

I would expect/hope for an early announcement but no pictures or appearances for a while.

I don't see the bump cupping as attention seeking. I think it's another form of reassurance when she isn't clutching Harry's hand. Also she must be pinching herself with the unreality of it all. She probably needs to check it's really there.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/04/2019 18:57

Calm down Grumble I said "over-excited rather than attention-seeking".

And they do announce due dates in a "early summer" "late autumn" sort of way. They should have said early summer but they couldn't when they announced so so early.

GrumbleBumble · 27/04/2019 19:01

Summer starts on 21st June, her due date was probably 20 something of April. It is a spring due date.

justasking111 · 27/04/2019 19:05

I was cupping my bump with first baby was so excited to be carrying a baby. It is such a lovely time with your first. The second a couple of years later was a blur. The third after a long gap I did enjoy more but there is nothing like the first pregnancy.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/04/2019 19:08

I give up. You can't seem to see I mean if they had any sense they would suggest a date after their due date to avoid the "why hasn't it arrived yet?" speculation. If they said early summer people wouldn't have spent March and April looking for a baby announcement. If the baby then arrived late April early May people wouldn't have been demanding she crossed her legs and kept it in.

FlyMayBe · 27/04/2019 19:17

Just popping in to say that I barely took my hands OFF my bump when I was pregnant, I felt so lucky.

Hope all goes well for the birth. TBH it's none of anyone else's business. Such prurience is extremely tacky.

Thanks for D&DOS and baby Sussex

Oh, and Thanks for DOC too, for her grace under pressure. Nothing at all for Wills.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/04/2019 19:40

The Dutch royals at Kings Day yesterday. Max in culottes and striking coral accessories. Once again, an outfit only she could carry off!

Curly

Isn’t Charlotte Casiraghi the absolute image of her mum!

brizzlemint · 27/04/2019 19:48

The children both look lovely, I love the red coat.

ajandjjmum · 27/04/2019 19:48

Just suppose that all this gossip about William is just that - gossip. I wonder how the Cambridges feel - is it upsetting or do they just laugh together about it?

Spudlet · 27/04/2019 19:50

Pause for 😍😍😍 at Max's jauntily angled hat. I do so love a chapeau at a jaunty angle!

MarkleSparkle · 27/04/2019 19:54

Does anyone else think King Willem-Alexander looks like Daniel O’Donnell?

beanaseireann · 27/04/2019 20:10

Em No MarkleSparkle I can't see the resemblance myself. Keep taking the tablets Wink
But he does have an Irish/ UK look about him.

MarkleSparkle · 27/04/2019 20:21

beanas Grin Grin

I think maybe it’s just the haircut that’s similar.
