my-rutland.com/please-giles-coren-dont-buy-a-house-in-rutland/

Thought you might like to see this little piece. Rutland has had a lucky escape (but quite clearly not enough of the right “London sort” live here, unlike the Cotswolds).

Has Gikes Coren been sued yet?

SevenSeasofRye · 27/04/2019 08:59

Where is this other thread that people are referring to?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 27/04/2019 08:59

Isn't Giles Coren famously tantrumy? Sounds like Rutland had a narrow escape if it didn't meet his exacting standards.

You definitely won't like Somerset, Giles. Nothing to see here...

Horsemad · 27/04/2019 09:00

I think Rutland HAS had a lucky escape!! Grin

queenofarles · 27/04/2019 09:19

The other thread is fascinating! All the stories about the Queen mum, she employed a big number of staff , hence Many of accounts about her,

Paradyning · 27/04/2019 09:25

And I didn't realise George IV was such a prick! Poor Queen Caroline!

queenofarles · 27/04/2019 09:34

but isn’t Giles Familiar with the Cotswold set and not the Norfolk set? He was in Amsterdam for the Soho house opening . Maybe it’s a case of Trickle down gossip effect.

Rhubarbisevil · 27/04/2019 10:37

Well, he’s certainly off Big Suze’s Christmas card list, that’s for sure! Grin

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 27/04/2019 10:42

slipper I know it was a piss take and it really made me laugh but I think that there is also an element of truth in that's what media would refer to as an inside source (obviously not a garden gnome but the whole somebody's sister's friend's aunt's bil's friend's friend type thing)

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/04/2019 10:58

It's naive to think they don't have inside sources.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/04/2019 11:14

I think there are royal reporters and there are royal reporters. Someone like Richard Kay is generally going to have more inside knowledge than any old hack.

brizzlemint · 27/04/2019 11:58

Jenni Murray probably would as well.

brizzlemint · 27/04/2019 11:59

^ Not jenni murray, I'm thinking of somebody else - can't think who. Senior moment :-(

brizzlemint · 27/04/2019 11:59

^ Jenni Bond. Maybe!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 27/04/2019 12:06

I’ve just realised when I was reading Giles Coren, I was actually thinking of Gyles Brandreth Blush

brizzlemint · 27/04/2019 12:25

Glad to read that it's not just me then Georgie

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 27/04/2019 12:35

Anne of course some of the reporters (aka the proper ones) will have actual inside sources but when you look at the blatantly made up crap often published in the daily fail, express and the like, I do think the "inside source" they are quoting is probably someone who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone on the inside (basically very far from what normal people would consider an inside source).

Paradyning · 27/04/2019 12:40

Whoop! Niraj Tanna (always jn the know. The first to call MM's dress designer) says MM is overdue by one day. Which exactly ties in with my prediction of 2 weeks before me!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 27/04/2019 12:44

Grin not at all!

Spudlet · 27/04/2019 13:14

Have just been lurking recently as not many dresses to ogle... poor MM though, I was such a sad pregnant lady at this point! Hope (assuming she is still pregnant and they aren't just keeping quiet for a few days - in which case, good for them) she doesn't have too much longer to wait. I felt like a particularly grumpy planet at this stage and couldn't wait to get the little bugger out.

SweetestSugar · 27/04/2019 13:40

@Paradyning He tweeted that yesterday, so she’d be two days overdue today, if he’s right.

Paradyning · 27/04/2019 13:44

Ah so I'm out by a few days!

justasking111 · 27/04/2019 14:50

Looking forward to some lovely baby news. With brexit we need some light relief.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 27/04/2019 14:56

Could be another week yet.
