Right. I'm aware I'm spamming you all now but DM link to the Queen at a funeral today (Lord Porchy's widow).
She looks beautiful.
Queen looks sombre at funeral of friend Jeanie, Countess of Carnarvon

What lovely sunny pictures from today's service. I agree, BlingLoving, Kate looks increasingly confident and relaxed at these events, and it's translating well to seeming 'grown up'. Good timing, with the elders ageing...

BertrandRussell · 25/04/2019 18:43

Blimey. Look at Andrew Parker Bowles. He was pretty glamorous in his day if I remember correctly.

hoteltango · 25/04/2019 18:55

The Queen's outfit is amazing. It's so very unlike what she wears on official duties. But I guess that as the funeral was a private occasion, she can wear what she prefers.

catofaragon · 25/04/2019 18:56

I think the Queen looks lovely in that outfit. Makes her look much younger than 93.

MotherofPearl · 25/04/2019 19:12

Agree HMQ looks great in those photos.

I do think that the best quality clothes are really important in old age: smart suit, leather handbag and shoes, proper jewellery. It seems that when you're younger it's easier to get away with cheap dresses and manmade fibres, but not so much as you get older.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/04/2019 20:14

It is interesting to see tbe Queen in darker colours when we are so used to seeing her in yellows and pinks. She looks beautiful today, her skin is amazing.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/04/2019 21:26

My DM, who got closer to the Queen than I have or am ever likely to, said that both Elizabeth and Margaret had the most lovely violet blue eyes and flawless skin. They were also both very tiny. But then, so were their parents.

Daisypie · 25/04/2019 21:26

The Queen does look beautiful. I thought William acquitted himself well in NZ. Looked concerned and engaged and caring.
Kate and Harry have always looked close so it was nice to see them together.

Smotheroffive · 25/04/2019 21:32

Think I will hide this thread now, I am not comfortable with all the judgements on looks and finger pointing.

I am not getting why what others wear is so absorbing to judge and speculate about.

Then seeing the daily fail being linked...

I shall bow out now.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 25/04/2019 21:35

Tbf though I haven’t contributed, it’s in the Style and Beauty section, what did you expect? Confused

Paradyning · 25/04/2019 21:36

Jesus Smother. The thread is about the clothes.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/04/2019 21:39

Kate just looks regal these days. She is conscious of her place in history and that photos of her as a young woman will be looked at in 50 years time, so is always appropriate and immaculate. If she does not wear high fashion, it also means her clothes will not date.

As pp said I really like the standup neckline from today and Easter Sunday. It is very elegant.

The Queen looks really chic today. And it is very rare that she attends a funeral, so it was obviously a very close friend.

Quintella · 25/04/2019 21:40
Grin

What.......did she think the thread was about?

Cafetierecoffee · 25/04/2019 21:43

Easy now, it’s very easy to see the title “Royal Style and Gossip” and to interpret that as “Feminism, equality and did the Moon Landings actually happen?”

SenecaFalls · 25/04/2019 21:44

The Queen always looks great, but chic is not usually an adjective I would associate with her. But I agree that she looks quite chic in the black and white.

Paradyning · 25/04/2019 21:45

Agree Seneca. It's kind of weird commenting on what someone wears to a funeral but she really did look amazing!

megletthesecond · 25/04/2019 21:50

I always have a sneaking admiration for the DoC's faultless work uniform. She's fine tuned it from a fairly young age.

justasking111 · 25/04/2019 21:50

I would die if 50 years on my taste in clothes was published

queenofarles · 25/04/2019 21:56

The Queen’s face looks very smooth and plump for 93, are we sure it’s Yarldley she is using ? Wink

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/04/2019 21:57

Wait, we're being told we shouldn't discuss clothes in a thread called Royal Style in the Style & Beauty section? Um...

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 25/04/2019 21:59

I am not getting why what others wear is so absorbing to judge and speculate about.

Because we like talking about clothes? Heaven forbid we do that in Style & Beauty!

Royal Style and Gossip = The Decline and Fall of the Social Evolution of Molluscs.

megletthesecond · 25/04/2019 22:08

We're discussing tailoring and colours. It's not character assassination 🤷‍♀️.

Laiste · 25/04/2019 22:09

God what is it with all this pouty public flouncing off threads and getting all cats bum faced?!?

Just go! No one gives a shit!
