But at 3 months I wouldn't have wanted to be away from my baby for half a day

God, I would have bitten someone's hand off!

catofaragon · 24/04/2019 17:26

I saw the Duchess of Gloucester getting out of a helicopter at Kensington Palace today (there was a man with her but couldn't quite see if it was the Duke). She looked very elegant in a mid calf length pleated cream coloured skirt and a navy jacket. Very slim. I didn't manage to get a picture as I didn't have my phone handy.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 17:41

Birgitte Gloucester is quite stylish - I really liked this outfit she wore to Ascot last year.

One of Birgitte's grand daughters is named Senna. That would be an unusual name for a queen! Wink

megletthesecond · 24/04/2019 19:17

yy sleeping. We can play Post Maternity Leave bingo with that list.

Can I add

  • Harry carries baby. He's henpecked.
QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 19:29

Lets hope she doesn't marry a Mr Kott @AdaColeman!

PinguDance · 24/04/2019 19:31

Oooh that is a top outfit from Birgitte Gloucester.

yellowalstroemeria · 24/04/2019 19:42

I can see Harry with a baby carrier. There's something very attractive with a man and a baby carrier

Baby's clothes will be too dear.
Baby will be seen stamping foot once as a toddler and be a brat.

Poor H&M.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 19:53

Is anyone else old enough to remember the pasting Fergie got for leaving her firstborn, who was only a matter of weeks old, to go on holiday with Andy?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 19:57

Can I play?

Baby will be too big/small due to faddy clean diet

megletthesecond · 24/04/2019 19:57

yy My I'm that old. Wasn't it Australia IIRC?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 20:01

Might have been @megletthesecond, I remember being a bit shocked myself!

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 20:02

If Meghan does a photo shoot with minimal makeup and yoga pants she'll be accused of trying to make Kate look too dolled up.

If she has blow dried hair, professional makeup and a new Givenchy dress she'll be accused of trying to outdo Kate.

And of course there'll be a thread on Mumsnet where posters are competing with each other to say they don't care about a royal baby!!

OP posts:
Butterymuffin · 24/04/2019 20:02

Although Diana several years earlier had insisted on taking baby William to Australia, hadn't she, and that had been regarded as a bit out there and not what Royals did, taking your small child along when you travelled.

Basically, as a woman who's married into the royal family, you can't do right for doing wrong.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 20:03

Re Fergie, I don't think it was a holiday. Wasn't Andrew at sea and she decided to join him as she'd not seen him for weeks?

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 20:05

It certainly looks that way, @Butterymuffin!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 20:13

Yes, I think you're right Queen. I was never sure how I felt about it. I couldn't have done it myself but the baby (Bea) was so young she wouldn't have known any different. And judging by the way those girls have grown up her maternal instincts can't have been that far out.

But it was another stick to beat Fergie with. And, boy, did the press have it in for her.

brizzlemint · 24/04/2019 20:16

Baby's clothes will be too dear. Poor H&M.

I can see a solution now! Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/04/2019 20:20

Post Maternity Leave Bingo Smile
The baby is too white
The baby is too black
(Disgusting comments but unfortunately some idiots will make them.)
The name is too out there.
The name is too grand.

Poor Meghan she's damned if she does & damned if she isn't.
Why does it always seem to be the women who move into the Royal Family who get all the vitriol?
Wait I forgot Philip, he was too foreign & bossy according to the men in grey of the day.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/04/2019 20:21

I meant damned if she doesn't!

Cafetierecoffee · 24/04/2019 20:21

Windsor Castle is owned by The Crown, ie The Monarch, but Elizabeth (as a person) cannot sell it. But she owns Balmoral and Sandringham as a private person so she can sell those off to pay for any future divorces.

Cafetierecoffee · 24/04/2019 20:22

How about “The baby is too ginger”?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 20:27

@brizzlemint 😂😂😂

Daisypie · 24/04/2019 20:27

Can't really buy the idea that Meghan didn't realise what her life would be like as Harry's wife. There is hardly a lack of information around on the royals. Meghan wrote about Kate's wedding on her own blog so clearly had some interest.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 20:28

Woah, hang on there @Cafetierecoffee, those are my people you're talking about! Grin
