huff nice too hear all is good, how is Ds?
Soy enjoy the first class travel, outfits sound great & good luck with the presentation🤞🏻

ilovecherries · 17/04/2019 10:16

Good luck, soy. I bloody love travelling first class. Usually I pay for my own travel so I usually travel standard and use my geriatric rail card, but I have one client who always arranges travel for me, and it’s always first class with an open return. I love it!

@FuzzyPuffling hope you are both holding up ok💐

NotAnActualSheep · 17/04/2019 10:49

Crikey! 3 pages into a new thread already.

Placemarking - and also to say I loved cherries suede jacket (keeeep) and soy's photos in the last thread. And those shoes Envy . Hope your trip goes well today - and good luck with your presentation tomorrow! And yy - first class is the way forward. It makes a painful journey almost tolerable (though better in the evening when the wine/ gin feels a bit more acceptable) - and you can stretch out a bit more. If you can book an advance ticket its often around the same price as an anytime standard ticket anyway. Or that's how i justify it to my clients - plus i can browse mumsnet work much easier, and without feeling overlooked. No-brainer really.

ella - no real help on the summer dress front, but I'd second the lightweight scarf-thing over shoulders if you have an otherwise perfect sleeveless one. Though I love a sundress with sleeves cos I always manage to miss bits of my shoulders with suncream... I also agree with len on giving Sainsbury's a look - they always seem to have some nice lightweight summer stuff - often cotton/ linen. I also have to say i love the toast noelle (?) dress that they do every year - which is a 'boring" t-shirt dress, but with a gorgeous scooped back and somehow a bit more 'tailored" to give a bit more shape. And lovely quality jersey (though maybe a bit thick???). ££££ though Shock . And v jealous of the new sunglasses too. I have such a strong prescription it costs a fortune to get lenses that don't look like milk bottles - so my current ones are about 3 prescriptions out of date I think. I hate my rubbish eyes.

Lol @ laska's washing line... I'm a bit like that at the moment... Wearing the blue helena shirt today with some (non-hush) boyfriend jeans, held up with a hush belt.

cherries sounds like you need some new summer clothes then... Grin

Waves to huff - nice to hear from you, and hope you're not struggling too much with work plus DS. Love those headbands too.

yy fuzzy - hugs to you. Hope you're holding up oK.

I made an appointment to get my hair cut this afternoon, and I'm still dithering over style. I always think I want a "pixie" style - and then think I'd look a disaster (I do not have a pixie face) so chicken out and get a trim into the same haircut I always get (nameless mum hair). I'm sure today will be no different!

Oh, and I've just got an email from hush saying DH has used my "referred by a friend" code - so I'm hoping the hat hints for my birthday have paid off. (And also, now I have to buy something else to use the £20 - though i may wait for the new stuff which should be coming at the end of the month, i think). There's a few more things in the sale today, but I'm so confused as to what was there before. There's that folk dress and skirt in the same fabric that is new.

Laska2Meryls · 17/04/2019 11:42

Hope it goes well tomorrow, soy, Is this more on a potential job move? Enjoy First class ! I have taken a punt on the Keiras just to see... Smile

dontcallmelen · 17/04/2019 12:03

Not ikwym haircuts, I’m the same always end up with long layers & a fringe my next appointment is end of May & thinking off going much shorter, be brave & go for it especially now weather is getting a bit warmer.

Laska2Meryls · 17/04/2019 14:21

I found bra Nirvana in M&S at lunchtime.. as I am so,so fed up with uncomfortable straps and wires digging in ,This is it!!!
Ok It's not the prettiest, but I changed back into it after buying and 2 hrs on it still feels good.. also I think really pretty almost as supportive for my Ecup norks a non wired bra ...I am still planning on doing the same as cherries after I am back to my good weight..

Laska2Meryls · 17/04/2019 14:23

...even better,it was mispriced so I got it for £15 Smile

twosoups1972 · 17/04/2019 14:52

Soy enjoy first class, sounds lovely

ella that's a lovely bag, where is it from?

Hope everyone is having some spring sunshine today. It's warming up here in London and weather looks good for over Easter.

gin we had exactly that experience at the Colosseum. They approached us for photos and being the naive me that I am, was up for it. Dh looked a bit disgusted and tried to walk off. Can't remember if we ended up paying them or not in the end.

grannycake · 17/04/2019 15:05

laska I have the cami version of that bra (in fact I now have 6 of them!) They're so comfortable but still supportive. I am a 30DD so struggle to find a big selection - I have to buy in store as they don't stock the 30 online for some reason

twosoups1972 · 17/04/2019 15:10

That looks like a great bra laska I will have to tell my dd. She's got a full bust but hates underwired bras, she's never worn them. She likes very plain crop top style bras, no lace etc. Think she really might like this one, thank you for posting.

Laska2Meryls · 17/04/2019 15:12

Grannycakes I don't know how I have missed it .. I suppose that I have always thought I should be wearing underwired with my norkage.. ..

ilovecherries · 17/04/2019 15:23

I bought a couple of these today, to try and get a more normal shape under summer clothes than the compression is providing. 32FF was probably the size, but bought in a 34F so there was no pressure on my scars (not sure if M&S even do FF?). They seem comfy so far although will still wear compression at home and overnight. Some of the women in the breast reduction FB group are back in wires at 4 weeks (eyes water). Not going to happen for me, not just the wires, it’s the fact I still have square, rigid boobs, and I’m not having lace or nipple seams anywhere near me. www.marksandspencer.com/cotton-rich-non-padded-full-cup-bra-b-g/p/p60110204?image=SD_02_T33_7139_Y0_X_EC_90&color=BLACK&prevPage=srp

Laska2Meryls · 17/04/2019 15:28

They look v similar cherries. ..

grannycake · 17/04/2019 15:29

They're great Laska The cami ones also means that I don't flash my cleavage at work but I still get a smooth line under more fitted tops. I have 2 black, 2 grey and 2 white. And I can where any black/grey/white pants with them (I usually buy packs of DIM pants in French supermarkets when on hols)

Ellapaella · 17/04/2019 16:08

@twosoups1972 bag was a gift from my friend. She had one and I was admiring it so she bought me one for my birthday last year. It's so cute and they come in all colours. She got it from a local boutique where she lives but I think you can order online - The designer is called Vera Pelle. They are real leather and you can detach the strap if you want to use as a clutch bag in the evening.

Huffthepuff · 17/04/2019 20:20

Hi Len, Soy and Not! 👋 DS is great thanks and I think we've all just about adjusted to me being back at work full time. Thankful for the bank holiday weekend although we have family visiting all weekend which always stresses me out. I'd love to just relax and be a chilled welcoming host but haven't had time to prepare (clean, do a food shop) so I'm panicking that it will be a disaster. Exacting and fussy family members don't help with the anxiety...

Anyway... back to fashion. Really want to order one of those headbands but £47 with delivery? It's just painful!

dontcallmelen · 17/04/2019 21:03

huff aww that’s a bit rubbish for you, lock em in the shed & block out the moaning with wine😂
Assesorize have some really nice headbands at the moment & Claires have some good cheapies in at the moment, might be worth a look.

Huffthepuff · 17/04/2019 21:29

Hahahahaha Len yes!
Thanks for that will check out Accessorize 👍

Laska2Meryls · 18/04/2019 09:46

Morning all, I am home today , am going to have another spring clear out!!

DH has only 2 weeks until he finishes work (and comes to live here F/T eek!!) and the room that will become 'his den' has for many years had a cupboard in with my overflow wardrobe! ( All my summer stuff)

, I really need to get the charity shop bags out again and absolutely decide what is going (I really cant be a$$ed to ebay ,unless there is any really good stuff Hush, Boden Seasalt perhaps to go ) .

I did this last autumn, and there are several winter things i just haven't worn, and as I am only in the office only 2 days now , I dont think I will be..

Looks like its going to be a nice warm Easter here.. we may get the barbie out !

I am 5.5lbs down in 3 days!! , so either Monday was a blip, or its lost water ..either way , ill take it.. V. motivating for the weekend..

Today I have poached salmon for lunch, didn't eat it last night as it would have taken me over my 800 calories , so I just had a plate of roasted veggies with a few prawns instead) .. Am roasting a chicken to eat cold today , DH wont be here until late, so it will be with salad..

Soy has got me thinking , with her Eurostar upgrade.. I'm planning a 60th birthday surprise trip for my DH .. Now thinking Eurostar , Business class (you get a posh meal etc) , and maybe onto to Strasbourg,. It looks pretty , Anyone been? Next Feb though... it will be cold..

dontcallmelen · 18/04/2019 10:23

Laska eek indeed, that’s going to be a massive change for you both.
Yeahy well done on the healthy eating, you are on a roll now.
Weather looks set to be very good here as well, we need to do some serious gardening, it’s in a bit of state just waiting for a tree surgeon to get back to me, we have a couple of trees that need pruning & a massive laurel that has got really out of hand, it’s taking over the garden.
Never been to Strasbourg, looks fab though did go posh class to Bruges a few years & it was a lovely start to a weekend away.
Good luck with the clothes sorting, it’s on my list for next week.

Laska2Meryls · 18/04/2019 10:24

or just Paris.. ,but I dont really know if DH would really be into it, and i dont know it at all.

dontcallmelen · 18/04/2019 10:37

What’s his favourite place or anywhere that he would like & hasn’t been maybe? I took Dh to Graceland (stayed in the heartbreak hotel, at the end of lonely street) for his fiftieth😳 as he loves Elvis as I’m not really a fan he never suggested it, so was a real surprise must admit I did actually enjoy it & Memphis was amazing.

dontcallmelen · 18/04/2019 10:38

Or one of the Italian cities?

Laska2Meryls · 18/04/2019 10:42

Len was that on Eurostar? I think hes been to Bruges, and def to Amsterdam

I'm trying to avoid the 'obvious' places hes talked about previously though as Id like to to be a real surprise. I know he'd like Rome, Bologna , or Porto but I also know he'd ' love a train trip ! (not Orient Express type though) , and it would be something different..

Berlin would be good or Vienna/ Saltzburg, but probably too far on the train..

I think it would have to be Europe , I cannot afford Canada!
