Will Kate emerge from her Norfolk seclusion sporting a bigger than ever Alice band? Will the Mail and Express stories about Meghan get more ludicrous by the day? And will this thread see the arrival of Baby Sussex? All will be revealed in due course...

I hope the arrival of the baby brings Harry and William closer again. I think Kate will behave impeccably, it could be quite healing for the four of them.

I really hope they aren't planning to announce on Instragram but since they mugged some poor bloke for his Insta handle I fear that's the way it's going.

FATEdestiny · 11/04/2019 18:38

I am beginning to wonder if there is a health issue with mother or baby?

Sophie's birth of Lady Louise was traumatic and there were serious health issues. This situation is making me think of that.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/04/2019 18:38

Totally agree @mrscampbellblackagain. I just can't see it surviving Charles. I work mainly with older, traditionalist-types, and even they are talking about the abolition of the monarchy after the Queen dies.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/04/2019 18:43

@CurlyWurlyTwirly He was visiting a charity in Barking, it was on their Instagram.

Their Twitter, rather.

Poor Charles, he would be like “what!? I’ve just become king”!

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/04/2019 18:44

That probably will announce it first on Instagram or Twitter, it's what William and Kate did IIRC,

I think it's a response to the paps camped outside their house, nothing more. They aren't announcing the place in advance. Also think she's due during the last 2 weeks of April which fits with the announcement and means she could go into the first week of May if she goes overdue. Which is what they said.

Sakura7 · 11/04/2019 18:54

Can't believe anyone could get worked up about this. They haven't said there won't be an announcement, just that their plans for the birth are not being made public. How on earth does that provoke responses like "can't have it both ways" and "it's a dig at Kate"? Confused

Some people really need to get out more.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/04/2019 18:59

You haven't seen the AIBU about it then @Sakura7? So many people making a drama out of it all 🙄

Plus if they want private jets then they have friends who'd lend them one!

Chartering private jets isn't as expensive as you might think. Although transatlantic might make a dent but there's always good old first class for long haul.

Ktay · 11/04/2019 19:21

Did you see a German media outlet published a longer version of the statement - apparently it will be announced when the DoS goes into labour and there will be a photo call within a few days of the birth.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 11/04/2019 19:22

Well, it seems as if she’s been pregnant for ever now to me, and I’m sure Meghan feels the same.

Sakura7 · 11/04/2019 19:29

QueenOfTheAndals

I spotted it alright. No matter what they choose to do, Meghan will be critised. Do the same as Kate and she's trying to upstage her or doesn't know her place, do something else and it's a dig. Can't win.

SwimmingInTheDeepBlueSea · 11/04/2019 19:32

ktay do you have a link please?

Ktay · 11/04/2019 19:35

Here you go Swimming - saw it on Twitter

Isn't it reasonable that this could be interpreted as being part of the beginning of the 'modernisation' of the monarchy that so many are calling for though? Although i doubt that is the reason behind it, it does amount to the same thing; something so many of us here have said they'd like to see: that is the reduction of the whole 'circus' of the extended royal family.

Change has got to start somewhere ...

SwimmingInTheDeepBlueSea · 11/04/2019 19:44

Thanks ktay

So there really is nothing for people to complain about then. Megan just doesn't want to do the stand on the steps six hours post birth - which lets face it, the vast majority of women aren't up to.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 11/04/2019 20:25

Poor Meghan. I hope she can ignore the media and have a lovely snuggle time with baby Sussex.

itswinetime · 11/04/2019 20:27

Just been catching up but I'm with those posters saying it's nothing! All that's been said is we aren't going to know ahead of time where they are delivering and any details of the birth. I think it's safe to say there will be no photo call on the steps either.

Personally I think an announcement will go out most likely on Instagram when the baby is here but I don't think it will give details such as the hospital. I think it will be a few days before a photo appears. I don't think there is a reason beyond what they say they want to enjoy their family for a bit before inviting the world in!

I'm sure the Cambridge children (possibly not George) were announced on twitter first and given how private they with the kids I think had they had the choice they may have done similar but as the future monarch and family it wasn't an option,

The only odd thing is the announcement but I imagine that is to stop press and members of the public trying gather at the hospital. And it's only odd because it's quiet rare for the palace to comment on things.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 11/04/2019 20:56

God I must be blind! I also live very local and I’ve seen absolutely zip all when it comes to paps! Confused

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/04/2019 20:56

I'm just watch The Royal House of Windsor on Netflix this evening and one thing that strikes me is that nothing ever changes. Harry and Meghan and William and Kate are not the first to be accused of wanting to modernise or change the monarchy. The DoE got a very similar reception when he tried to do the same in the 50s!

OP posts:
SlipperOrchid · 11/04/2019 20:58

It’s so ironic that those complaining about not getting minute by minute updates of Meghan’s labour are the ones saying that Meghan and Harry don’t have any significant roles in the RF and are as irrelevant as Andrew 😎

Make up your mind folks!!!!

HopeOverAnythingElse · 11/04/2019 22:35

I think that's funny too @SlipperOrchid

People calling 'modernise' but also 'play ball' and tie the line!

Tis most confusing Smile

Notmyrealname855 · 11/04/2019 22:42

I’m saying modernise by all means, but communicate well! Otherwise it doesn’t look like modernising, if anything it looks like the usual traditional stuff but just poorly thought out :)

Completely off topic but what are people’s bets on a Beatrice engagement? I need to check the old thread to see if you already discussed that rubbish divorce settlement the Lux girl got!
