Will Kate emerge from her Norfolk seclusion sporting a bigger than ever Alice band? Will the Mail and Express stories about Meghan get more ludicrous by the day? And will this thread see the arrival of Baby Sussex? All will be revealed in due course...

I think Zara favours that shape coat, not sure it signifies pregnancy. She looks great in it anyway. The only outfits I really don't like are Sophie's and Lady Louise. They both look a bit Bon Marche!

I'm struck with how covered up everyone is on a hot sunny Easter Sunday. They'll be ok inside a cold chapel but won't want to be hanging around in the heat.

SlipperOrchid · 21/04/2019 14:17

The British public and media have been shits to MM.

gingercat02 · 21/04/2019 14:29

Love Kate's outfit is it gray or blue. Agree everyone is very wintery, this weather has been forecast for ages. I think Zara is still carrying some baby weight (aren't we all), maybe she isn't riding much yet, Lena is still quite young.
HMQ looks glorious as always. Presume Meg is still waiting or Harry would be at home

frugalkitty · 21/04/2019 14:29

To be fair, I think that whoever Harry married would have been in for a lot of criticism. I think that since Diana's funeral he's been the nations vulnerable little boy and no one would have been good enough for him. It's such a shame that MM has had the criticism she's had, as he clearly adores her and that's all the should matter. OK so the bump touching was really annoying but she's clearly trying to throw herself into her new role.

I liked Kate's outfit today, but thought Sophie looked a bit of a fright. Says me in her decorating clothes.....Grin

Butterymuffin · 21/04/2019 14:41

Yes, Meghan can't have given birth yet or I doubt Harry would be there. Surely must be any time now though!

Love Kate's hat and the colours of the Queen's outfit. The dress I would wear myself though is Autumn Phillips's.

BertrandRussell · 21/04/2019 15:03

“Yes, Meghan can't have given birth yet or I doubt Harry would be there.”

Why not?

Butterymuffin · 21/04/2019 15:15

If she'd just given birth and it hadn't been announced yet, I'd expect him to stay home from church to have that family bonding time they've said they want in the announcement.

queenofarles · 21/04/2019 15:50

It’s just for a couple of hours, don’t think it’s a big deal if he went out while the baby is sleeping, and besides it’s just down the road from Frogmore.

user1457017537 · 21/04/2019 15:50

I don’t think Camilla’s transformation in the public eye has anything to do with PR or spin doctors. She seems very warm and sincere.

user1457017537 · 21/04/2019 16:13

The thing is M and H are not a brand, they are members of the Royal Family. You could argue that the Royals are a brand, albeit well managed and protected, but if M and H wish to establish their own brand they should do so independently and not as part of the Royal family and being funded by the British people.

queenofarles · 21/04/2019 16:26

I remember seeing pictures of C&C tour of the refugees camps in Jordan, and one particular footage was of Camilla wanting to praise the needlework of a refugee , she smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up Grin it was spontaneous and so sweet of her.

SevenSeasofRye · 21/04/2019 16:37

I think maybe because it’s the Queens birthday Harry would attend regardless. I’m sure they’re all spending the afternoon together. Doria is reportedly with Meghan anyway.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/04/2019 16:37

There is actually a documentary about how Charles hired a top PR guy to help rehabilitate his public image and to get Camilla accepted by the public. Apparently he tried to stop it being broadcast and it was postponed by the BBC for a bit but it's now .

I agree that Camilla comes across as warm and sincere, which no doubt helps, but it's naive to think there hasn't been a concerted PR push on her behalf. Remember, 20 years ago she was allegedly getting pelted by bread rolls in her local Waitrose (how very middle class Grin) as people were convinced she was the evil Other Woman!

Sorry to go OT and talk about clothes!
But I think they all look lovely today with the exception QE for once. Bet harts an Angela Kelley outfit and not a Stewart Parvin.
Telly like Bea's look. And Anne's.

Paradyning · 21/04/2019 17:00

*that's

Paradyning · 21/04/2019 17:00

Ffs. *really like Bea's look.

evilharpy · 21/04/2019 17:03

I can’t believe people think Sophie looks frumpy. I think she looks great, really love her dress. Louise looks great too although no need for the black tights. What was Anne thinking with the gloves?! Bea also looks great.

Disfordarkchocolate · 21/04/2019 17:06

Love Sophie's outfit too. I think it's hard for Louise, as tall as her Mum but still fairly young, its a difficult age for formal dressing. She seems a lovely girl though.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/04/2019 17:09

I noticed Beatrice didn't curtsy to HM in the clip online but perhaps she'd seen her earlier in the day and already got her curtsy out of the way!

Why should they do so independently? Why didn’t anybody object to funding Harry before he married Meghan?

latedecember1963 · 21/04/2019 17:29

I like Sophie's outfit too.
On the Hello website Louise's dress looks to have a dark navy background and I think her tights look more navy than black.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/04/2019 17:30

FWIW I think William and Kate have established a "brand" independent of the rest of the royals with their Foundation and strong focus on mental health issues. I don't really have a problem with that. HM is 93. The younger royals are obviously going to want to do things differently.

It's just the intense criticism and blame that's heaped on women marrying into the RF. Now whenever Harry does anything people don't like it's always blamed on Meghan because apparently she controls him. (Sounds very much like my MIL's narrative actually Grin). I absolutely agree now Catherine is Saint Catherine Halo our Future Queen when the poor woman could do nothing right pre-Meghan. It's depressing to see women stereotyped as the Wicked Vamp/Angelic Wife and Mother. The Royal men have never had anything close to this kind of scrutiny and stereotyping. The women are like Fairy Tale archetypes. Why the urge to do this? We can't just blame the tabloids because if it didn't have an audience this narrative would be dead in the water. And the worst sin is for a woman to be ambitious, especially socially ambitious. I guess it must be to do with power.

hopeishere · 21/04/2019 18:55

All of the royal woman are quite busty. They should embrace the v-neck a bit more!!

mrscampbellblackagain · 21/04/2019 18:56

Honestly, Meghan married down. I mean come on, Harry is hardly a business success or heavyweight intellectual.

But this thread is very pro Meghan and lots of snide comments about Kate and her children.

Personally I totally think Meghan married Harry as a sensible decision based upon what she wants to do for the rest of her life and who he is. And I don't judge her for that. Good luck to her - personally I think she would have had an easier time just marrying a very rich private man where she could have exercised her philanthropic aims and maintained a career.
