Will Kate emerge from her Norfolk seclusion sporting a bigger than ever Alice band? Will the Mail and Express stories about Meghan get more ludicrous by the day? And will this thread see the arrival of Baby Sussex? All will be revealed in due course...

Yes it must be frustrating for the York girls, they are both have the HRH title but don’t perform royal duties even though they would like to, they can’t really use their position in any commercial sense either unlike Zara. I wonder if Andrew now regrets accepting titles for them and wishes he had done the same as Anne, she obviously had a bit of foresight into what would happen in the future, though to be fair to Andrew when he was second in line to the throne it would probably have seemed impossible that his daughters would be side lined.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/04/2019 02:34

I think the York girls were probably sidelined at a young age because of Fergie and Andrew’s antics. Sins of the fathers and all that.
Now that they have proved themselves as young women and Fergie and Andrew are not causing any scandal, perhaps theFirm / Way Ahead group are testing them out in royal duties.
I mean for how much longer can they wheel out the Kents, Gloucester’s and Princess Alexandra?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 19/04/2019 02:43

Good point Curly, maybe that was the reason why, but very unfair if so, after all Charles and Diana had a fair few antics of their own to say the least, though obviously they could not side line W&H because of it. Maybe the powers that be will have a rethink, particularly after the success of Eugenie’s wedding, I think both the Princesses stock has risen.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/04/2019 02:53

Great interview with Miguel Head former press secretary to W&H about the media blackout when Harry went to Afghanistan a decade ago.

brizzlemint · 19/04/2019 02:53

I think Eugenie is getting more involved now because of the lack of others - Zara's family don't have titles, the Cambridges are busy and their children are too young, ditto Harry and Meghan whereas Eugenie is the new kid on the block so to speak.

Beatrice doesn't seem to do much though, I'd struggle to remember the last time I saw her at an event.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/04/2019 03:03

Cynical as it sounds, The York’s have run a good media campaign maintaining the goodwill of Eugenie’s wedding.
The odd photo, Instagram post or charity visit.
Very clever and subtle.

mathanxiety · 19/04/2019 05:13

I suspect the beige Norland uniform wouldn't clash with the colour of any outfit a mother or other female family members would wear when they are all out and about together.

I agree with SenecaFalls' thoughts on the slimming down of the RF and Charles' input into it.
I like Eugenie's dress, I have to say - the pattern, colour and neckline, and her hat was nice too. Presumably she went for a restrained style because it was a religious occasion. Nice to see her - she doesn't seem to put a foot wrong - and she and the Queen seem to like each other a lot.

I think the reason for William to fly solo to NZ was that this is not a happy family trip but associated with Anzac Day and the recent massacre, and there will be a memorial service. I think the children would distract form the sombre mood in NZ right now. It's also only a two day trip with more time flying than on the ground.

Max in Oscar de la Renta. She looks fantastic!

Eugenie looks lovely, the dress isn't my favourite, but she looks pretty. Nice to see her out with HMQ.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/04/2019 08:33

Maxima wore that outfit during the State visit to the UK.

I absolutely love that bright pink colour.

Notmyrealname855 · 19/04/2019 08:38

Euegenie is our youngest royal doing engagements - five years between her and Harry, and not a single blot on her history. No offence to the others, but she does seem a generation apart and she wears rather nice and fresh looks. I like her in weird Erdem florals as it’s not too cute, even when she’s wearing a very retro hat, and she looks like she’s having fun. Plus her Instagram captions are really sweet and she seems quite self deprecating :)

God Max is just so cool! Can you imagine any other royal carrying off that look?!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/04/2019 08:42
She was seeing Harry but not engaged. She also looks fantastic in a sari.
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/04/2019 08:43

I hope Maxima’s 3 daughters have inherited her pzzaz!
Will be great to see them dressed up and doing engagements when they are adults.

Anne doing something she obviously loves.

Eug looks nice in that dress. She does suit florals.

Where’s this baby then? It’s practically May.

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/04/2019 08:59

Maxima's middle daughter is the image of her, oldest and youngest are 100% Orange!

Meghan looks great in a sari, very Bollywood! I read her article on period poverty and found it thoughtful and well-written.

M&H announced she was pregnant on 15th October.
Assuming she was at least 12 weeks, she’s got to be overdue.
What’s the maximum time they’ll let you go before induction. 41 weeks?
I presume the baby will be here by the end of next week.
Or could arrive on the Queen’s Birthday in 2 days time; Easter Sunday.

Even though Kate announced her pregnancies early due to HG, seems like Meghan has been pregnant for ever!

beanaseireann · 19/04/2019 09:27

I wonder has Meghan had the baby ?

Disfordarkchocolate · 19/04/2019 09:43

When Charles is King Andrew's children will be the equivalent of Margaret's children, and they both live as private citizens with less publicity than Zara. I think Edward and Sophie agreed that this way (and Anne's way) was better for their children.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 19/04/2019 09:43

12 weeks on the 15th October would make her 38 and half weeks but I would assume she was a little over twelve weeks.

I’m local and haven’t seen anything that would imply the baby is here.

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/04/2019 09:47

I think it's 42 weeks but even then the decision lies with the mother. It'll be hilarious if the baby is born on the HM's birthday. Cue Daily Mail stories of Kate consumed by jealousy and William storming off in a fit of rage!

SlipperOrchid · 19/04/2019 09:54

Usually a max of two weeks over but as Meghan is carrying a big baby (I think Harry previously said this too), it is very unlikely they will allow her to go over due to the increased risk of complications. However I’m not sure how induction works if someone has opted for a natural birth.

brizzlemint · 19/04/2019 09:58

I can't see them letting her go overdue given that she's older, that it's a risk factor for stillbirth and she's a high profile mother so I wouldn't be surprised if she has had the baby.

Ah, I missed that. No blue/pink and even blue & pink balloons over Frogmore then?
