Are these “old lady” sandals?

I have pregnancy damage internal and it causes me to have a swollen foot. Its just the one foot and therefor shoes are a nightmare as i cant get alot of shoes on the fat foot.

I ve seen these and think as they are adjustable then they may be suitable.

Im only 31 and i was hoping they werent old lady sandals.

What are your thoughts please?

I was thinking of the black colour

They look like some Fly sandals I used to have, so on that basis I’d say no they aren’t!
Honestly if you’re in pain and they fit just go for it.
I find Clark’s ‘e’ fit sandals are good as I have a fatter foot due to poor circulation / damaged muscle.

They're fine. They'd only look old ladyish if you paired them with beige slacks and a pink cardie.

In this case I think comfort trumps style anyway.

Angelinthenightx · 09/04/2019 19:25

I think it would depend on what u were wearing them with, as i do think with the right clothes u could pull them off.

Bookworm4 · 09/04/2019 19:25

Sole is like a Birkenstock which is super comfy, I have the flip flop style; love them.

Switsy · 09/04/2019 19:25

And I'd go for black too Smile

RemoaningMyrtle · 09/04/2019 19:26

why do you have to demean your sex by using "old lady" as something derogatory?

WhoEatsPopTarts · 09/04/2019 19:27

Well I’m 50 and you couldn’t pay me to wear them.

ANiceLuxury · 09/04/2019 19:27

I have no pain, just a swollen foot.

It’s a nuisance!!

I wear jeggings 90% of the time

Combined with some pretty toenails they'd be great. They're quite funky:I like the red. Gotta admit I've never found a shoe from Hotter that isn't old ladyish so this is a surprise. No American Tan tights/fungal nails mind......

ANiceLuxury · 09/04/2019 19:29

I meant old fashioned, for someone much older than I am.

I know hotter is known for being for people much older than me and I’m abit conscious of that

I'm only a bit older than you, OP. I have a version of those and they are so comfy!

Floisme · 09/04/2019 19:31

Why do you use 'old lady' as shorthand for ugly?

I think they look fine and, even if they weren't, relax - no-one is going to look at your sandals and think you're 82.

Fresta · 09/04/2019 19:32

Yes! I wouldn't wear them- they are beyond frumpy!

MrsMaisel · 09/04/2019 19:32

I drew breath when the link opened. They're plain ugly. Don't insult old ladies. I plan to wear nice shoes when I'm old.

Handbaghag · 09/04/2019 19:34

And now I'm getting adverts from Hotter on MN pages.....
🙄

BlackPrism · 09/04/2019 19:36

They're not like super fashionable but they're not old lady. Just a normal everyday sandal tbh

LaLaLamp · 09/04/2019 19:38

No OP, I can't imagine my mum in them so you are fine!

MikeUniformMike · 09/04/2019 19:44

I think they're ok. I'd wear them if they were comfortable and I think my mum would too. My mum loves hotter shoes.

IncrediblySadToo · 09/04/2019 19:46

Give it a rest

I HATE sandals, pretty much ALL of them, but they look no worse than 85% of sandals to me. Needs must. If they fit and are comfortable then 🤷🏻‍♀️ Buy the black & white ones, they’re almost kind of cute.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/04/2019 19:46

I don't like 'old lady's as a derogatory term.

They're fine and a bit Birkenstock ish BUT they're not particularly wide if that's what you need.

JaneJeffer · 09/04/2019 19:48

I drew breath when the link opened.
Really? Seems OTT.

SwedishEdith · 09/04/2019 19:51

Quite like them! I'd like some better colours.

Love that it said 100+ people are looking at this page Grin.

Redcrayons · 09/04/2019 19:53

They're borderline.
Red or cow print ones look good

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/04/2019 19:54

They look comfortable. I would wear them but I feel old (50 next week). I wear mostly Fly shoes though and like a chunkier look

LindsayDentonsFringe · 09/04/2019 19:58

I think at your age you can pull off something a bit orthopaedic as a style choice. Teva hurricane also worth a look if they fit your feet - supremely comfy and having a bit of a moment.
