Can anyone talk me out if buying this dress?

I love it, but I don't need it and shouldn't really be spending over £100 on a new dress, even if it is a total bargain!

Anyone want to talk me out of it??

Meh

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 07/04/2019 09:55

Interesting that people think it looks cheap though.

It looks £24.99 at a push. I've seen better in Primark.

FaFoutis · 07/04/2019 09:55

Anything polyester looks cheap.

DantesInferno · 07/04/2019 10:01

its also lacking attention to detail, look at where the skirt meets the dress, I know its not easy to line up with ruching, but seriously for a dress that costs £219, you would expect some effort

according to the reviews, the fit is a bit odd, and baggy around the armpits

its not worth that price, £25 maybe

It does look like the average high street shop dress.

OldGrinch · 07/04/2019 10:03

It looks a very frumpy cut and I would think it was from New Look or H&M

YouCannotFindMe · 07/04/2019 10:05

You'll sweat like billy-o.

Look on Amazon/eBay/asos/your local market and you'll find one there for £20 and spend the £80 on something better

The reviews all say it is a strange size and doesn’t fit properly under the arms.

Someone from Whistles has actually noted the sizing is amiss and has passed it on to their tech team

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/04/2019 10:08

V frumpy.

Loopytiles · 07/04/2019 10:10

Agree with PPs, looks like cheaper end high street, and you could get something v similar and much cheaper elsewhere.

SinglePringle · 07/04/2019 10:12

Looks like it came from Bon Marche

Betty777 · 07/04/2019 10:13

I think it's lovely.I"m sure in person it wouldn't look like Primark. if you can wear it without a bra and you are slim-ish it might be lovely.

And if you know you will get a lot of use out of it then you can justify it (if you have the ££ to spare, obvs) ANd if it's armpit baggy, you can send it back!

Pinotjo · 07/04/2019 10:13

Waste of money, shop around, summer stuff is arriving in shops soon, £100 Is too much, look at ASOS dresses

anothermansmother · 07/04/2019 10:13

It's very drab. It isn't even flattering on the model even with all of the lighting and airbrushing. Spend £100 on something that looks lovely #notthat!

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 07/04/2019 10:15

Well... Thanks all. I don't think I'm 100% decided but it's given me pause for thought definitely.

Langrish · 07/04/2019 10:15

Looks like most summer dresses from Primark.

Hooleywhipper · 07/04/2019 10:16

It would age you OP. Pattern my Mum would wear from BonMarche.

rightreckoner · 07/04/2019 10:19

That looks very ordinary to me. I’d say £25 from Primark. Ok for mucking about in the garden on a sunny day but not more than that. How was it ever priced at £220?

But maybe it doesn’t photograph well. What’s special about it OP?

Snowymint · 07/04/2019 10:19

Swerve! It’s on sale for a reason! So mNy things wrong with it....especially the bodice and fabric. Frumpy. Shop on!

GoGoGadgetGin · 07/04/2019 10:21

£25 from new look?

CountFosco · 07/04/2019 10:27

I don't think it looks anything special in the photos.

But for you, can you think of at least 3 things currently in your wardrobe that you will wear it with? Will it fit in your lifestyle? I bought a maxi dress last winter and wore it about 3 times because it didn't work for me even though it looked gorgeous. Is it washable and will it need ironing? Do you care about the microfibres it will shed ever time you wash it?

Tomtontom · 07/04/2019 10:27

I like that New Look one. If you put the two in like for like settings you wouldn't know the difference.
