Just out of curiosity can I ask your age and where you shop?

I'm 32 and for the first time I went into new look at the weekend and though...oh god am I too old to shop here now?!

32! Same feelings about New Look. Really not keen on their stuff. I love Oasis and that seems to be where I buy most things. Also an avid charity shop and ebay buyer. usually on ebay I filter to Oasis, Ralph Lauren and a few other specific brands

Swiftier · 03/04/2019 09:04

Haha, I’m 32 and I haven’t been in New Look for a while. Most of their stuff just looks too teenage for me!

Also, I would rather invest in better quality. I like Jigsaw and Whistles for work wear and basics, and more fun stuff from Arket or & Other Stories. For bags and shoes I go to Wills, Beyond Skin, Labante or Matt and Nat (as I don’t wear leather).

Insecure123 · 03/04/2019 09:04

Oh also love some Jack wills stuff - mainly jus their jumpers as I find them a good fit, and osme of their shirts. I love the boyfriend fit. Soft cotton and a good fit, not too tight

Ellabella989 · 03/04/2019 09:07

I’m 30 and If I’m on a budget then I shop at places like George and Primark. If I’m a bit more flush then I like ASOS for online shopping or Debenhams. I bought a really nice dress from New Look recently but I do find a lot of their stuff is a bit young for me now.

missmartini · 03/04/2019 09:10

Oh fab ideas and places I hadn't thought of!

Genuinely think I'm in the midst of a style mid life crisis!

😂

36 and I shop in Topshop, & Other Stories, Zara, Mango (really loving Mango at the moment), Arket, Weekday, Everlane, Uniqlo, Cos, Selected Femme and occasionally H&M.

Longdistance · 03/04/2019 09:13

I’m 43, I shop online mainly as a) I don’t have time and b) my local shops are awful.
I buy from New Look and DP tall collection. I buy from Zalando quite a bit. They do a variety of companies clothes including New Look and DP. Free delivery over £30 iirc.

LancashireTea · 03/04/2019 09:49

34 and my clothes range from Sainsbury's and Asda, to Primark, to John Lewis, Roman and M+S.
I still like Dorothy Perkins stuff, but am too fat and uncool really.

If I could (afford it/ get away with it daily), I'd live in Lindy Bop/ collector type stuff. Or rock my inner goth look which ifeel I'm too old for now.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/04/2019 09:57

I'm 32, and I work full time so mainly shop online (work in a small town so don't have a great choice of shops to browse on my lunch break either). I didn't buy much at all last year due to having a baby, but now I'm trying to update my wardrobe again for some more up to date things. I've recently kept things I've ordered from Reiss, M&S, Uniqlo, & Other Stories and Topshop, and have got an order coming from Everlane in the US. New Look is definitely too young for me, I can't get away with that general level of quality any more, especially after having a baby. I might look there for cotton summer holiday clothes.

missmartini · 03/04/2019 10:05

@BlairWaldorfLovesShopping

Definitely know what you mean. I've got 2 kids and work full time as well so budget is stretched with full time child care and their ever growing limbs and feet! 😂🙈

I defo need to get into some nicer shops, I struggle with sizing so find online hard.

35, ASOS and H&M mainly, and do love a charity shop/eBay bargain

Raspberry88 · 03/04/2019 10:42

Pretty much entirely Sainsbury's and Asda! I love them, particularly impressed with the quality of the TU clothes!

Raspberry88 · 03/04/2019 10:43

Oh, and I'm 30!

WTFIsAGleepGlorp · 03/04/2019 10:52

BHF, Cancer Research, Compton Hospice, M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Primark (very occasionally), with occasional visits to House of Fraser.

Hazeintheclouds · 03/04/2019 11:10

Cos

tierraJ · 03/04/2019 12:14

I'm 42 & have a fairly low budget so it tends to be Dorothy Perkins for jeans, New Look & Primark for skirts & tops, River Island or Zara for clothes if I have more money.

River Island & Accessorize for bags.

River Island, M&S, Schuh, Primark, Accessorize & New Look for footwear.

I like Figleaves for bikins as they sell my cup size.

tierraJ · 03/04/2019 12:16

I would like to buy more trainers, saving up for some at present.

BlueMerchant · 03/04/2019 12:20

Late 30's
I like new look, H&M, next, Tk Maxx and Dorothy Perkins.

Ellapaella · 03/04/2019 12:21

39 and I shop all over.
I still get a lot from TopShop.
I also like Asos, Hush, Mango, Warehouse. Occasionally I find the odd gem in New Look, I have one very close by so I do pop in every now and again. I like All Saints but it's too expensive new so I tend to buy that on eBay.
Zara is one of those shops that I see other people wearing their stuff and I love it and they look great in it but I've never been able to find anything that suits me there when I've been myself.

Cecilia2016 · 03/04/2019 12:23

I shop a lot in Debenhams, oasis, Dorothy Perkins, warehouse and sometimes next. New look is for my 2 daughters

Wheretheresawill1 · 03/04/2019 12:28

Warehouse, primark, topshop, Zara for shoes, bags and necklaces. Also I’m a bit of a sheep and like hush although am finding their jumpers do not was well at all- shrink to 2yr old size or bobble

SteelRiver · 03/04/2019 12:49

I'm 48 and I like pieces from Hobbs, M&S, Jigsaw and Reiss and I quite like some of Next's trousers. I look most days on eBay for these and other brands like Whistles. I've had some great pieces second hand, often barely worn, that I couldn't have afforded new.

MsSquiz · 03/04/2019 12:55

I'm 32 and still shop at New Look but only for their skinny high waist jeans. They seem to be the only ones that fit me properly and are comfy.

I also shop a lot at Oasis (mainly dresses), Dorothy Perkins (tops), Joules (t shirt dresses for summer), H&M (basics - vests, leggings, sweaters).

I occasionally buy from Warehouse but they can be a bit hit & miss.

missmartini · 03/04/2019 13:17

I've never considered clothes off eBay before will def look into it x

OP posts:
Furrytoebean · 03/04/2019 15:56

I'm 31 and generally shop in H&M and in second hand shops but weirdly I often find really nice things in miss selfridges.
