oh and the Dishwasher (DH) isn't working either, he has flaked out on the sofa!.. there seems to be something wrong with my modern lifestyle here, Grommit

Ellapaella · 07/04/2019 21:47

Which La Redoute crops have you ordered laska?

We do have an Alexa @justilou1 - I have no idea if it's full capacity though, I just use it as a speaker to play my Spotify playlists through. Eldest DS has one in his room - we want to try and sort it out so I can use mine to tell him to come down for his tea so I don't have to shout up the stairs Grin

I got the same ones you recommended on the other S&B 'crops' thread Ella , but I'm not sure if they are going to look so good on me ,as i have pretty round tum and that button fly may not look so good on me ! ( but at £14.70 in the sale I thought they were definitely worth a try ).. Smile

Ellapaella · 07/04/2019 22:40

Oh yes they are a bargain Laska - looking forward to hearing what you think of them.
Mine don't look so good with trainers so they are a strictly sandal trouser for me but actually tried them with a heel as well and they look good.
They'll look great with your Saltwaters I reckon.

Just caching up!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

never I saw your post before it was deleted, how horrible for you. I am so sorry. I won't say any more but feel free to vent as much or as little as you want to Flowers

laska hope Brighton went well Smile

We've had a bit of an emotionally charged weekend. Dd1 is home from boarding school for the holidays. Lovely to have her home of course but the dynamic changes and the other two are finding it hard. Dd3 (on ASD spectrum) majorly kicked on on Friday night. And dds 1 and 2 are not getting on at all well which is really difficult. They are so different - dd2 wants to discuss the issue and 'work on the relationship' (yes she really is only 16!), dd1 is much more of a closed book. Dd2 is lashing out at dd1 because she feels so hurt by dd1's apparent coldness and distance and indifference towards her. I want to help them both but just don't know how much to get involved Sad

justilou1 · 08/04/2019 00:32

I am currently trying to find a good-looking pair of trainers (preferably platforms or to get my butt further away from the ground) and want leopard or tiger - to annoy DH. My dog was frustrated because we had possums storming over the roof and she was locked in and couldn’t go and yell at them, so she silently destroyed one of my last ones, ignoring the thousands left around my DH and DCs. Traitor. Do you think I can find what I want in this shoeforsaken country? No!!!

Laska2Meryls · 08/04/2019 10:05

Dune Edris with the black star are nice just lou (i have last years version and they are true to size if you want to risk mail order ) can you get those in Oz?

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 10:06

Morning all. Not much planned for today. Just laundry and boring house things and a bit of work at some point! Dressed very leisurely in my asda charcoal leggings, hush long vest and charcoal wide top. Partly dressed this way as im not hoing out and i will do my exc.bike later. Whats everone else up to?

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 10:07

@laska, looking forward to seeing the trousers. Anyone else waiting on purchases?

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 10:13

What about these just
trainers

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 10:14

No idea if they deliver to you though

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 10:17

@laska, did you get the next ones?

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 10:17

Crops that is!!!

FuzzyPuffling · 08/04/2019 10:31

Re trainers. I have just bought a pair of these.

www.clarks.co.uk/c/Tri-Trail/p/26135108

They are my second pair because they are the most comfortable trainers I have ever found and fit my long thinnish feet well. They may not be the most elegant footwear (but what trainers are, especially in size 8?) but I'll only buy them in the sale!

SoyYo · 08/04/2019 12:41

Hello I’ve done my back in at the weekend. Agony. On tramadol and hot water bottle against sore bit.
As the remarkable Bette Davies put it “old age ain’t for sissies”.
All because I bent the wrong way round in the shower while shaving my legs Hmm

@never I missed your posts due to feeling like crap with the sore back but I think I got the jist...sorry to read and Flowers xx

@laska you made me laugh (not too hard or my back hurts Grin)...green biros!
Like Ella I have an Alexa which I won as a “work prize” for winning a bright ideas competition. It’s mostly switched off unless I want radio on in the living room. Sits next to the TV and if I forget to switch it off it answers the TV sometimes 🤣 weird bloody AI and our millenial boys who are super techy don’t trust it either.

@fuzzy nice to read you

@len I do hope the BA Muubaa is fab! We’ll swap notes as it should arrive next week

@cherries I saw Alyson at “that’s not my age” blog write an article in praise of trainers and flats. You’ll be the most stylish mum there.

@justi I look forward to your flatform Hunt. I haven’t got any flatforms and quite fancy a pair...nice ones posted upthread at a great price actually.

@soups agree the blue linen top was really lovely on you. Also liked the orange top. Sorry about DD’s I guess it’s readjusting the dynamics when they’re back together again. I get that with my two DS now DS2 is back temporarily from Brighton. They fall out and the next hour best mates again (there’s nearly 4 year gap between them).

I decided I’m not working today. I’m too sore and have been working such long days that I can’t cope with that and the pain.

Ellapaella · 08/04/2019 12:45

I remember platform trainers first time around, circa 1998 the time of the spice girls. I have a navy blue pair, suede sketchers with enormous white flat form soles. I loved those trainers, I wore them with tracksuit bottoms channelling sporty spice.

Sorry that random post was in response to Never's link to the flatform trainers.
I like them Never - are you getting?

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 13:01

One pair are next signature - bought primarily to replace my black hush star ones that had to be returned and really sorely missed them to wear with skirts etc and the pewter ones because they are lovely and a bargain at £42

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 13:03

The second pair are Crime london and usually over £100

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 13:04

I have so far worn the black ones daily!! Not yet worn the crime london ones.

justilou1 · 08/04/2019 13:23

Fabulous shoes ladies, but alas unavailable here. Damn. I shall have to trawl the mall. (My idea of hell. Fortunately I have a couple of teenage daughters to embarrass, so it won’t be all bad! Also, the weather is supposedly cooling down later this week for a wee while... mid 20 degrees! Woohoo!!!)

Laska2Meryls · 08/04/2019 14:55

ok These are the Le Redoute crops ( they dont look half as good on me as they do on Ella!) & they are hardly cropped ! But actually are nice fabric and feel fine, - the side seam twists around a bit to the front which is a bit odd.

Anyway I was thinking as they are only £14.70, how about if i shortened them to about the length in the 2nd (fuzzy, legs rolled up a bit )photo? . I was thinking maybe with frayed edges ..

Honest opinions please.. I am a bit porky right now I know , but do they make me look too 'blockish?' (in the shorter length that is ?, I wouldn't wear them as they are)

The Next ones will be here later in the week as I am having them delivered to the local store

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 15:02

I think they look fine shortened. They are a strange length otherwise. I found that with the hush ones. They were just a tad too long on me. I think that is the trick with trousers like these. Its all about getting the length correct to suit your height.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/04/2019 15:04

They don't make you look blockish in the shorter length. I think they are worth keeping.
