I say 15 years on the throne because I can't see him lasting as long as his mum. Men generally don't (yes I know his dad is alive in his 90s but he was made of tougher stuff than his sons) and he's already looking very old. I think he looks as old as his mum now. Of course I could be wrong and he could live until 105 but with every year passing the Cambridge kids get older and Harry falls further and further into the background.

True, but it's going to be about 20 years til they can take on duties of their own so Harry isn't going away anytime soon!

Personally I think they will try to keep the Cambridge kids away from duties for as long as possible. William was in his 30s before he a really started if I remember correctly? I know things may not be exactly the same as they will be children of the monarch not grand children but still I think Harry and Meghan are going to be pretty front and centre for the foreseeable future.

I do think the press are unfair in the way the report on money spent but the Sussex's and not others but It's not just the press that seem to be cashing in here is a (sun link for those that avoid) about Seerena Williams sending Meghan pampers from the US. It's a silly thing and it seems a small part of the article probably meant in jest but she's fanning the flames of all the negative press, when she had no reason to mention Meghan at all.

If William is king by then possibly, if it's still Charles maybe not. I can imagine W&K wanting to keep their children out of the spotlight for as long as they can.

If Charles is still alive in 10-12 years time then the Cambridge children will be in the same position William and Harry were as teenagers. I can't remember if they took on any official duties at that age.

I can see thinks like this with the Cambridge children supported by one or 2 parents.

I can't find a date for solo engagements but it seems to be agreed upon it was on graduation from university.

She probably was @QueenOfTheAndals but there was no need to mention Meghan her all. It's all so hyped up at the moment that she needs her friends to close ranks a bit And not give fuel to the fire.

I'm sure questions were asked but all that needed to be said was she will make a wonderful mum and then leave it.

The interviewer asked her if she'd "sent pampers across the pond" so I guess she just said the first thing that came to mind.

George and Charlotte have been eased into public engagements since babyhood. Eg in NZ, Oz, Canada, Germany, Poland.
They’ve also done the BP balconies a few times. We may well see Louis this year after Trooping the Colour.
The Cambridge kids are technically future Prince of Wales, Princess Royal and Duke of York so they’ll have to be eased in whilst still young

They will but it's a long way from appearing on the balcony at the Trooping of the Colour and making a speech at the opening of a new hospital!

Pampers are available here anyway, no need to get them shipped over!

William will make sure the children are kept away as long as possible. It doesn’t matter what age anyone else ever was. William himself resented the public intrusion into his life. He will orchestrate the children’s public appearances. He already does. No public photo calls, the press are allowed photographs of George’s first day at school and official royal occasions and weddings. Does anybody know what Louis even looks like now?

When they visited countries they took the kids with them, I think that was probably more to do with not wanting both parents being away from them for long than being an attempt to expose and ease them into the limelight.

Maybe I'm being to harsh on serena and yes I'm sure there isn't a plane of Pamplona route but. It wasn't a hard hitting interview it was a promotional piece for pampers she could have just said no Meghan questions but instead she gave a onliner that has brought extra attention to her campaign and I agree wrongly it's not her fault will probably be used to fan the current press story line about meghan being a diva.

Just seems to me meghan isn't surrounded by good people they all seem willing to use her to get what they want. But I'm happy to accept that may not be the case and I have the wrong end of the stick!

I agree it will be a gradual transition for the Cambridge children but I believe William and Kate will try to let them have as many 'normal' experiences as they can.

I think it's pretty sensible of him and Kate. Sure we'd like to see more photos of the kids but I can respect their decision to give them a low profile. They're only the sovereign's great-grandchildren now, there's plenty of time for them to have a higher profile later.
