How much do you pay for your hair cut?

I have a pixie cut, so need it doing every six weeks maximum. My hairdresser seems to be especially speedy - last time I went the whole thing - wash, cut, blow dry - took 20 mins and it cost £45.

I am thinking of changing hairdressers anyway, as the last two times it hasn't looked as nice as she used to do it, but wondered how much was an average cut.

What annoyed me most was the fact there was a man in there, paying 'gentleman's price' (ie. much cheaper) who was in there longer than I was and whose hair was also longer than mine!

0p - I have some professional scissors and do it myself (my hair is smooth, straight and not too heavy or thick). Super quick to do and no small talk or pretending to like it. Blush Spend the extra saved on pricier conditioners and silk hair wrap (for night time).

just had my pixie cut done today £18.50 and £4 tip, I always have a wet cut , and its dry by the time shes finished, ( but she always wants to put some styling gloop in it ..Sometimes I go for it , but tbh i prefer it without .. ) I colour my own , white blonde then pink over ..

Usually about £35 for cut n blow dry, I'm in Scotland.

New place opened up within walking distance of my house, I though great! Then saw it was £40, FFS add on a tip n it's rather a lot for just a cut n blow!

£45 is pricey, possibly going rate though where u are? 20mins seems rather rushed though even with a pixie cut. I would try somewhere new and see how u get on.

I book a groupon/ deal zippy deal. No point being loyal to one expensive hairdresser
Every 6 weeks? ( thats a very high maintenance hairstyle-and an expensive one at that) can you afford the maintenance? If not consider another style

SteelRiver · 26/03/2019 21:40

I'm in a little country town in central Scotland and I pay £30 for a cut & finish.

ChishandFips33 · 26/03/2019 22:59

thedarklady tell me about the silk hair wrap please?

JoyceDivision · 26/03/2019 23:09

£45 and it keeps creeping up... Helped make the decision to grow out a pixie so I could take longer between apps as it was costing too much and really needed cutting every 5 weeks at worst, pref 4. Love hairdresser, he really gets short hair, tried other salons but not the same!

SimplyPut · 26/03/2019 23:15

strawberrylollipop · 26/03/2019 23:36

Nnnnnineteen · 27/03/2019 00:12

£60 ish, but I only go yearly (as i donate the hair)

Hughes12345 · 27/03/2019 08:17

£16 for a dry trim every 6 weeks.

mrsoutnumbered · 27/03/2019 13:44

£10 For a wet cut with no blow dry. I loathe to spend £40+ on a hair cut.

Megan2018 · 27/03/2019 13:48

£45 for the cut and finish
£120 for colour, cut and finish

I go every 10 weeks usually. I have long, thick hair though. Cut and finish takes 1.5hrs. Colour can be 4 hours sometimes!

XingMing · 27/03/2019 14:10

£43 for cut and finishing in very rural Devon for a genius.

XingMing · 27/03/2019 14:10

...by a genius.

willowstar · 27/03/2019 14:18

£44 in a small town in Norfolk. That is the salon owner's price. The other hairdressers in the salon are cheaper. I only have my hair cut every five months though so I don't mind paying £10 a month for it effectively.

MarshaBradyo · 27/03/2019 14:20

76 cut and dry
175 highlights half head

Jaxhog · 27/03/2019 14:22

£60 for a Vidal Sasson trained hairdresser who does a wash, cut and blow dry in 45 mins. I have layered short hair (as I'm a bit thin on top). Blow dry is about a minute.

ALannisterInDebt · 27/03/2019 15:29

£45 for a cut & blowdry....alas I have never been offered a blowjob at the hairdresser.

Thedarklady · 27/03/2019 17:01

It's really pricey @ChishandFips33 but totally worth it. It's called Silke and you can get 20% off at Lookfantastic with this code: LF20

It's a bit fiddly to put on at first but if I can do it, anyone can. Anyway, my hair was always a knotted bird's nest in the morning but now it silky smooth with a little bit of a wave. I much prefer it to silk pillowcases!
