How much do you pay for your hair cut?

I have a pixie cut, so need it doing every six weeks maximum. My hairdresser seems to be especially speedy - last time I went the whole thing - wash, cut, blow dry - took 20 mins and it cost £45.

I am thinking of changing hairdressers anyway, as the last two times it hasn't looked as nice as she used to do it, but wondered how much was an average cut.

What annoyed me most was the fact there was a man in there, paying 'gentleman's price' (ie. much cheaper) who was in there longer than I was and whose hair was also longer than mine!

£80-£100 for WCB and root colour, and highlights every 3 months or so.

JuniorAsparagus · 26/03/2019 17:30

£20 for a dry cut every 8 weeks or so. DD moved from a northern city and thinks it is extortionate. She used to pay £10 up there.

GladAllOver · 26/03/2019 17:32

Nothing. DH cuts mine, I cut his.
It's fun and free.

PortiaCastis · 26/03/2019 17:35

£10 for cut and highlights from my schoolfriend who runs a salon.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 26/03/2019 17:41

Glad

‘It’s fun and free’

I’ll bet Wink

KittyMcKitty · 26/03/2019 17:46

I pay a lot but I like where I go. £65 colour and £75 cut and blow dry.

PortiaCastis · 26/03/2019 17:50

Blimey 44 euros for an hour long blowjob, hope you've had your tetanus jabs

Hellenbackagen · 26/03/2019 17:50

Colour, highlights, cut and blow for £85 every 8 weeks or so

pearlkent · 26/03/2019 17:53

@QuantumWeatherButterfly - would you mind giving me the name of your hairdresser (by private message if you'd prefer)?

I'm constantly looking for a decent no-frills hairdresser in west London.

GrumpyOldMare · 26/03/2019 17:54

Wash and cut £12.

GladAllOver · 26/03/2019 17:55

Weeping
Yes we really do enjoy it, doesn't take long enough to be boring.
My hair is long with a fringe, just needs the ends trimmed across. Five mins max.
His is just a general trim, probably ten mins.
And we can have a chat about Brexit while we're doing it.

BestIsWest · 26/03/2019 17:58

£50 ever five weeks for colour, cut and blow dry. I also have a pixie. I love going there, they make me feel sO cosseted. I have been thinking I’d drop the colour and go grey but I would miss being fussed over.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 26/03/2019 18:02

Glad I was more thinking about the very first response to the OP...

BlackPrism · 26/03/2019 18:06

£130 - highlights, cut and blow dry

swirlette · 26/03/2019 18:10

£16.50 now that I've discovered the delights of a dry cut! Hair looks no different with that and a box colour than it did with my £110 cut and colour previously...

olderthanyouthink · 26/03/2019 19:18

@foreverfat Unruly Curls in West London.

Cailindeas35 · 26/03/2019 19:27

Short pixie cut and colour €68.

imnottoofussed · 26/03/2019 19:28

£45 for colour, cut and blow dry. Northwest England. I also have a pixie cut and go every 6 weeks

applesarerroundandshiny · 26/03/2019 19:28

£35 colour, cut, blow dry - mobile hairdresser. I have it done every 4 weeks (grey roots).

FlorenceLyons · 26/03/2019 19:33

I also have a pixie cut which needs cutting every five weeks max. Used to pay a small fortune at a salon, then my hairdresser went freelance - hurray! Now pay £30 (plus £10 each for my teenage DDs when they come with me every so often).

EdWinchester · 26/03/2019 19:36

£150 for a cut but I only go twice a year.

hazeyjane · 26/03/2019 19:39

Nothing. Dh clippers and trims it every 2 weeks.

Aquamarine1029 · 26/03/2019 19:40

Zero. My husband cuts my hair.

Still18atheart · 26/03/2019 19:46

£25ish cut and blow dry. Shortish hair which gets cut when I remember to book an appointment and it starts gettting in the way

FlaviaAlbia · 26/03/2019 19:47

£10 in Belfast, I go to a barbers now.

I used to spend £45 in a fancy salon for a cut and blow dry but never really liked the way they did my short hair.
