How much do you pay for your hair cut?

I have a pixie cut, so need it doing every six weeks maximum. My hairdresser seems to be especially speedy - last time I went the whole thing - wash, cut, blow dry - took 20 mins and it cost £45.

I am thinking of changing hairdressers anyway, as the last two times it hasn't looked as nice as she used to do it, but wondered how much was an average cut.

What annoyed me most was the fact there was a man in there, paying 'gentleman's price' (ie. much cheaper) who was in there longer than I was and whose hair was also longer than mine!

teebee Not sure what sort of hairdressers you go to 😂
Mines about £90. Shoulder length cut and blow dry, three colours (foils). Takes just over two hours.

StoatofDisarray · 26/03/2019 15:56

£65 for a cut and blow dry by a senior stylist plus £15 tip because she's bloody awesome.

PandaCat · 26/03/2019 15:56

£25 for wash, cut & blow dry

StoatofDisarray · 26/03/2019 15:57

Mine is just above shoulder length and I live in central London. I get it cut every 8 weeks.

ivykaty44 · 26/03/2019 15:59

I have a pixie cut, £20 and I wash my hair everyday so never have it washed, use a unisex salon and it’s just 35/40 minutes and great hairdresser. Highlights & cut £50

Blackandpurple · 26/03/2019 16:08

£22 for a wash and cut. Never dry it there as its curly and these young stylists have no idea how to style it so i do it at home

And i go once a year

boxlikeamarchhare · 26/03/2019 16:11

£56, just looked it up. Teenage DD has hers cut by a more junior staff member and that is £45. We go every ten weeks ... I used to go more often before DD started coming every time.

Lungelady · 26/03/2019 16:13

About £110 every 6 weeks, cut and roots

Milomonster · 26/03/2019 16:20

10 quid in C London for wet cut - medium-long hair with layers.
35 for t zone highlights.
No blow job for that price.

MummyOfTwo92 · 26/03/2019 16:23

£24 for a wash, restyle and then styling

CountFosco · 26/03/2019 16:27

£45 for a wash, cut and blow dry. I have a short pixie and pay £20 more than DH to get my hair cut into basically the same style by the same person. I live in a small town in the north. Just looked at their price list and realised DD1 is about to get more expensive as well!

shrumps · 26/03/2019 16:35

Huge range of prices here!

Older than you think
Where is this curly specialist?
That's exactly what I need sorry to interrupt the thread !,,

RedRiverShore · 26/03/2019 16:44

£14-18 for a wet cut, depends who cuts it, I don't have a blow dry as my hair is curly.

Girasole02 · 26/03/2019 16:46

£2.oo. pixie cut done by hairdresser friend.

Thirtyrock39 · 26/03/2019 16:47

I'm in the midlands
I've recently changed hairdressers on recommendation of a colleague at work and I now pay £50 for cut, balayage colour and blow dry - best cut and colour I've had in ages and cheapest for miles - main difference as far as I can think is the salon is just a room (though a very nice room with all the usual hairdresser things in)in a industrial estate so less overheads and think they just 'rent a chair' or similar whereas I used to pay around £75 for a high street salon with massage type chairs glass of wine etc etc

RedRiverShore · 26/03/2019 16:47

I don't have a shampoo, just sprayed with water to wet out down, I wash it myself so no point in paying an extra load of money for that.

SpinningSister · 26/03/2019 16:48

£66 I see an art director in an independent salon.

I’m a hairdresser I wouldn’t pay less than £50

YolandaVerranda · 26/03/2019 16:54

I have a mobile hairdresser, I pay £65 every 6 weeks for root colour, cut and blow dry (poker straight just from a hairdryer) and this includes 2 cut and blow dry hair cuts for my teenage sons. So I think my haircut alone is either £35 or £45.

If I am having the rest of my colour touched up then it is £90 as I have root colour, then a second lighter colour for the middle of my hair and at the bottom an even lighter colour. It takes around 2-3 hours in total and she uses foils but this is every 8-10 months or so.

purplepears · 26/03/2019 16:55

£40
Wash, cut, blow
Fantastic stylist in her own home salon

MojitoMojitoo · 26/03/2019 16:56

£34 for a wash, cut and rough dry

Ridingthegravytrain · 26/03/2019 17:14

£15 to have my pixie cut. I tip her £5 as I think it’s too cheap!

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 26/03/2019 17:20

£45, though no oral, which is making me a bit shortchanged.

stabbybitch · 26/03/2019 17:22

Just went from long brown hair to a blonde on top long pixi/undercut & that cost £55.
Cut and bow dry £24.95 every 6 weeks.

April241 · 26/03/2019 17:24
