She genuinely wanted a job but she needed an element of flexibility to continue the relationship with a very high-profile man and a life that she can't dictate. She's going to be dictated to when she's needed and not needed.

Quote by her boss at Jigsaw, the one part-time job she ever held. I find it very sad and William comes off as controlling.

EstrellaDamn · 24/03/2019 21:57

I don't think anyone is 'denigrating a royal'

Even I Grin have been more polite than I would be in other circles about the entire RF. I still have thoughts and opinions though. Unless this is the WE HEART THE ROYALS thread and I got mixed up.

itswinetime · 24/03/2019 22:00

At the time of her marriage Kate's estimated net worth was 5.3 million she was never in a vulnerable position. Ok she didn't have a full time job yes that has always been blamed on William (maybe true maybe she didn't want to tell he boss she was working for mummy and daddy 2 days a week who knows.) but she is an educated women and with those kinds of monetary reserves I think she's of been ok till she found one.

Here's an article on it in hello

Yet there are some who extrapolate from their courtship that she's now some dim wifey who will put up with anything to maintain her position

No one has said anything like this.

Really??

Kate’s family is not to be messed with. Do you know how hard Carole worked for this grin.

This doesn't imply Kate is nothing more than a pawn in her mothers plan?

She doesn't have a spine of steel at all - quite the opposite in my mind.

Doesn't imply that she is weak? And it was the same last week when this story was spoken about. The idea of waity katey still seems stuck in people's mind all these years later.

And then finally can we all just take a moment and see that an article has been published that most people seem to think implies William is having an affair even if the article is a load of old tosh yet 90% of the comments have been about Kate her choice her past? why is this all about her? (as it was last week) where is the what a wanker William would be to do that?

HelloToMyKitty · 24/03/2019 22:23

That was a joke I made at her mum’s expense 🙄

And not having a spine of steel? That’s the best you’ve come up with?

Settled then.

Kedgeree · 24/03/2019 22:34

So unimaginative to push a narrative that two women have fallen out over a man. There could be any one of a dozen reasons for it that most of us could suggest are more likely. Maybe it's the STBXH that's trying to distract from his own misdeeds and make his wife look bad, or lose an important joint friend. That sort of thing often happens when a marriage breaks down. Much more interesting for the tabloids to make scandal about the royals though as it's more commercial.

frugalkitty · 24/03/2019 22:56

I've missed most of the fuss today, but for what it's worth I can't see William cheating given how traumatic his parents divorce was, I think they genuinely love each other and finally, I think Kate only has to look at Diana's life post divorce to want to stay put anyway. Chances are they've had a spat (the women) nothing to do with the men and they've found the friendship can't survive it. It happens, just not as publicly as it would be for the royals.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/03/2019 04:28

Richard Kay, Daily Mail has been wheeled in to put the rumours to rest.
(He was Diana’s pet journalist). He was used earlier in the week to deny that Carole’s business was going under.

Basically the Cambridges and the Cholmondeleys have only met 3 times so are not bosom buddies. They were ignoring the rumours, then over the weekend the Marquess and William were going to use legal action but there was nothing specific to complain against.
Hence the article by Richard Kay to put the record straight.

Anyway. They will have some kind of joint engagement to put the rumours to bed. They are probably calling East Anglia children’s hospice to arrange a visit. (At least some good could come out if this debacle)

Litttlepinkegg · 25/03/2019 04:35

Dm comments suggest MM’s new PR team have planted this story not sure if there’s any truth but interesting angle. I personally would be surprised if William was cheating :(

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/03/2019 04:42

Meghan doesn’t have a new PR team any more.
Her bloke Christian someone has stayed with the Cambridges after the household split.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/03/2019 04:48

short video of Charles and Camilla arriving in Cuba
Her dress is very pretty, but the silk is so fine, it’s shoeing her belly hugging comfy pants. Oops!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/03/2019 04:52

Grey chiffon dress Camilla wore to leave Barbados and beige silk in Cuba

Charlène receiving the Chinese premier
I honestly thought she was attending a funeral.

Paradyning · 25/03/2019 06:37

Mrs Jinping's dress is lovely.
Once again love how Char rocks the red lippy but agree about the funeral attire.
What on Earth could China and Monaco be up to together?

HelloToMyKitty · 25/03/2019 06:39

Article by Richard Kay is straight to the point, but did they have to throw in shade about Harry and Meghan? Left a bad taste in my mouth. Why even bring them up? Sad

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/03/2019 07:08

Chinese First Lady fashion
Peng Liyuang is a Chinese folk singer.

Assume Charlène will pop on a red frock at some point during the visit. Lucky for the Chinese and it’s one of the Monagesque National colours

Paradyning · 25/03/2019 07:13

That's a fantastic dress too

Daisypie · 25/03/2019 07:56

Poor Camilla looks completely spaced out and exhausted in that video.

Notmyrealname855 · 25/03/2019 08:05

Ooh the First Lady looks nice. Strange with China and Cuba to see communist countries meeting royal representatives! Maybe Monaco is just an easy place for China to visit, no strained history?

Can’t say I love coming to these boards to read about pretty grim DM rumours :( Interesting that the tone is against Kate (“Kate has fallen out with...”), whereas if there was an affair and separation I’d want Kate to stay and Wills to go. Same with the “Fab Four” apparently falling out, with the focus on the women not the men.

However if these rumours are untrue, and I’d bet they are, I hope w&k sue and sue hard. The tricky thing seems to be the vagueness of the rumour (that Kate has fallen out with a friend, and intentionally no reason given).

No idea why Richard Kay mentions H&M, but it’s a lesson in don’t play dirty (maybe to his own DM colleagues), as Kate has at least put in nearly a decade’s service without any blemish on her character, so the DM’s frenzy hasn’t worked (at least with those who read it).

Sadly yes this involved me going on the DM Sad

Anyway..

Looking forward to seeing more of Charlene in red lipstick! Her makeup there is amazing, not a big fan of the suit but doesn’t it make a difference to the usual dresses these women wear.

peridito · 25/03/2019 08:08

She does indeed Daisypie ,exhausted or unwell .Poor thing ,I wouldn't be in her shoes .

user1457017537 · 25/03/2019 08:09

HellotomyKitty throwing shade is a tactic rather than just coming out with it. I think all of this tit for tat is extremely damaging and benefits no one. The Royals all lead extremely privileged lives as we all know, they are acting extremely spoilt if they think that is all we have to worry about.

LuciaSpain · 25/03/2019 08:14

I want Leti's wardrobe, love that green dress.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/03/2019 08:41

My take is that there was no leak so to speak of. Kate and Rose haven't fallen out as they were no more than acquaintances. I reckon the story was entirely made up and, now that people are starting to question it, the press are trying to move the blame to Harry and Meghan. It's how the gutter press works and I'm surprised people are so quick to believe it.

Anyway, back to fashion now? I saw C&C (who ITV referred to as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall!) landing in Cuba. Quite the landmark visit! I did notice she was wearing a nice dress though if she struggles with jetlag then it must be tricky.

OP posts:
Mmmhmmokdear · 25/03/2019 09:25

Daisypie I think I've heard that Camilla struggles with travel.

Love Leti's dress but not sure on the accessories. However, I have no alternative suggestions!

China's first lady looks amazing. She's got a lovely face - she looks really friendly, happy, and a bit mischievous!

Charlene's outfit does her no favours. It makes her look like a rectangle. Her head looks small compared to her shoulders, so she needs something that would minimise it.

BlingLoving · 25/03/2019 09:35

@queen - I agree, I suspect the whole thing is based on the erroneous assumption that they were besties in the first place, of which there is no evidence except that they are both beautiful, have children, are married to wealthy titled men and live near each other. So if they're suddenly NOT besties, it must be a rift. It's silly. (quite frankly, I feel this way about a few of the ridiculous school playground intrigues - the assumption that there's a big fall out between mum 1 and mum 2 because mum 2 didn't invite mum 1 to a party. The fact that mum 1 and mum 2 have a relationship based entirely on some polite chit chat in the playground at pick up time somehow seems to be missed completely...)

As for Camilla, she looks so comfortable in her own skin. Even that pic of Letizia with her standing ramrod straight, feels a bit uncomfortable. You just don't get that with Cams. But I think she struggles with the travelling. How old is she now? My mum started really struggling with long distance travel once she hit her late 60s, whereas before she had absolutely loved it and thrived on it, doing world wide trips until at least 65. But the struggle came on quite fast and the last few years of her life it was pretty much established that she wouldn't do as much travelling and it would all be planned very very carefully.
