Given that the visit to New Zealand House was, obviously, at very little notice, I think both Harry and Meghan did very well in striking just the right note in terms of familiarity in greeting the officials, as well as recognising and acknowledging the seriousness of what happened.

Charles was never handsome bless him, but he always had a suprisingly good bod.

Not photoshopped, I remember those pics from the 80s..... I want to say they were on tour on Canada? That might be way off though. I remember John Lewis having a window display of wedding dresses at the time and one was very similar to this.

Re the swimming shots, is it possible Charles knew the cameras were there and was happy to have the shots published? Or that it was pre-arranged with photographers? It's interesting that Camilla was there but none of the British outlets have printed photos of her. Maybe Charles wanted everyone to see what good shape he's in but she wasn't so keen!

Apparently it was a public beach, full of people, so he at least clearly didn't give a shit.

She does swim though, there have been pap pics of her on holiday with her sister in the water in an M&S swimsuit a few years ago.

Wasn't it in Australia years ago that some random woman ran up to him and kissed him on the cheek? I think she's said that it was all a PR attempt to make him seem like less of a young fuddy-duddy.

Bit of an aside, but Series 3 of Victoria starts on Sunday night ITV, for anyone who likes a bit of historical royal faction (a friend's word for reimagined historical events)

I enjoyed Victoria but my interest in it dwindled after Lord Melbourne departed. I know that part of it was entirely fictional but Rufus Sewell, my heart be still!

Yes Queen, Lord Melbourne in Victoria was delightful on the eyes...
I do enjoy it, though The Crown is much better.
