She would not want it overshadowed by the Sussex baby and Lady Ella wedding.
Engagement announcements tend to be in the winter for a spring / summer wedding.

Hmmmm I'm not a fan of HM's coat today... colour great but the buttons/style looks a bit odd. Kate looks alright... grey though... meh 🙄 cmon Kate it's springtime give us some colour! Not Zara's finest fashion hour at christening, honestly think the coat was terrible on her. Like the pink colour of shoes and fascinator and looked good with teal (?) coloured dress underneath. I liked Meghan's coat and beret style hat for the christening. Queen M of Denmark likes a print - no doubt about that 😄

The queen is in Stewart Parvin. Personally I think you can tell the difference between his outfits and Angela Kelly's.

Today's coat looks to be made of a similar fabrice to this one, though I prefer the more retro look.

Harry and Meghan have made an unannounced visit to New Zealand House, apparently at the request of HM as they were the last royals to visit NZ.

How is she still able to bend down and get up again so gracefully. I would need to be hauled up unceremoniously at that stage of pregnancy.

I wonder why M&H wanted to go forward independently of everyone. Is it a bit of Beckham style branding type of thing or something else?

With Charles and Camilla abroad, and the Queen and Kate already engaged, sending William would have looked like a 'must send someone' event. Sending Harry and Meghan together is a show of strength and compassion, is how I read it.

I like the caped effect on this coat, but not all of the buttons are done up, making it look messy.

@SlipperOrchid HM (as in the Queen) asked them to go as they were the last members of the royal family to visit New Zealand. So they were just following orders.

Meghan and her coat are fine but obviously fashion is not the central point of such a sombre occasion.

Ok, I think I now know what made Rebecca spit her tea out. It was the sight of Prince Charles in his swimming trunks!

The D&D of S are going to be her commonwealth representatives so maybe that's why they went.
