What do you think of this red bag?

HERE

My aim is to have a classic black bag (got one), a nice nude toned bag (work in progress) and a red bag. That way, according to me, every eventuality andseason is covered. Would you like to give your opinion on linked red bag?? Thanks everyone in advance Thanks

I like that one too - all depends on how red you want the red to be?

NigellasGuest · 10/03/2019 09:57

Towards oxblood is fine, but actually I'm veering towards the kooples croc one.

Can I just throw fuschia into the mix for a statement colour? I have two and somehow they go with loads of stuff. Sorry to muddy the waters Smile

NigellasGuest · 10/03/2019 12:52

Waters now muddied a nice fuschia shade!!

Ffs I just wrote out a long comment with lots of links and lost it Angry Angry

I thought you were dead set on red! That certainly is a game changer.

What colours do you wear day-to-day though? Because from red to fuschia is quite a leap so I’d make sure it will go with the majority of your wardrobe, otherwise you won’t be able to use it as a Classic everyday bag.

I’ve got this one from Aspinal, it’s a lovely little bag but no top handle and you’d have to go for Bordeaux:

This is the one I want next, in this lovely green, they do it in Bordeaux and in a purple:

Then I found these at John Lewis (Mulberry, but I do like to buy from JL as they have such a generous returns policy- it means I can think about it for a good long time before I decide to keep or not. The only downside is you don’t get the lovely Mulberry gift bag...):

All in a more orangey red:

No top handle:

A bit of a wildcard? This is classic enough to still look good in years to come:

Ninkaninus thank you SO much for going to the trouble of posting with links after you lost it the first time!
Re. Fuschia, I was just teasing really. Truly sticking to red. Still like the the croc Kooples effort, but I LOVE the Mayfair Aspinal - perhaps we should buy it together and share it Grin
I also like the first 2 Mulberry ones you linked, especially the first. The third one is very nice. TBut that's the sort i would buy if I were ever in that place where you already have all your must haves, and want a little more variety to the bag collection. Not sure I will ever afford to be in that place!

PS day to day I'm fairly neutral, black, white, blue, with some colour blocking. For example, this morning I bought

On the Mulberry Lily you asked about, it would need to be the small as otherwise it’d be too big for what you want. It’s also a less structured bag. I’ve got one, and I like it, but it’s not as rigid so it will look a little tired after a few years of every day use. The chain strap does get a little annoying, and it’s much harsher on clothing, so I only use it occasionally as a day bag and mostly keep it for evenings.

If I were buying pre-loved I would be inclined to stay away from Vestiare Collective though as I’ve heard some complaints about the customer service (all anecdotal so I’ve not got personal experience). I’d probably look at this site if I were looking for a secondhand bag:

Grin

It’s a gorgeous bag isn’t it.

Sorry getting carried away, I don't have that budget!

OP posts:
Ninkaninus · 10/03/2019 14:33

Yeah I do that too on that site. Smile

Are you anywhere near Somerset? You could go to the Mulberry factory shop and see if you can pick up a bargain. Or the Bicester outlet? Might be worth a trip!

Ninkaninus · 10/03/2019 14:56

I know the budget has been creeping up somewhat, but sometimes I think you’re better off saving for a bit longer and just taking that little step up in terms of quality of design and workmanship.

NigellasGuest · 10/03/2019 14:57

Sadly nowhere near Somerset but that's something to bear in mind if I end up there! I suppose im not that far from the original Bicester Village but I've never been.

OP posts:
Ninkaninus · 10/03/2019 15:01

I think the problem with Bicester is that you’re not that likely to find the classic blacks/tans/reds etc. I’ve never been though. I keep meaning to!

ROAD TRIP!!
