Black ballet flats?

mummmy2017 · 10/02/2019 08:35

I would have said ones like you are wearing...
Good luck on your date

Justme1981 · 10/02/2019 08:36

Thank you, just thought the heels might be a bit much?

That's a cute dress!

I second the ballet flats.

Toastisfun · 10/02/2019 08:37

You look great!! Love the outfit with flats or heels but I would ditch the scarf. Looks over formal to me (not a helpful comment, I realise!)

Justme1981 · 10/02/2019 08:38

Thanks i ❤ that dress
So are we thinking black ballet flats?

You look great. I agree with no scarf and ballet flats. I'd go black or a metallic personally.

Dizzywizz · 10/02/2019 09:00

I agreee, black ballet flats

chipsandgin · 10/02/2019 09:02

Love that dress! I’d wear white trainers/converse & a biker jacket or black cardigan with it to dress it down. Good luck on the date!

Justme1981 · 10/02/2019 09:38

Thanks everyone for all the compliments & comments- maybe white ballet flats? I don't think i can pull off white trainers.

I would keep the scarf and the shoes you're wearing - they're not THAT high - and ditch the cardigan. Replace it with a black one. Or go for leather jacket and sneakers. Or even ankle boots. I know everyone is saying ballet flats but personally I disagree vehemently

CountFosco · 10/02/2019 09:50

Fab dress, where's it from? Definitely ditch the scarf, does nothing for the outfit. Do you have a black fine knit cardigan or jumper to wear over it (jumper turns it into a skirt)? If it was warmer I'd say definitely trainers (Stan Smiths in my case) plus biker. Bit harder in February, trainers require bare legs (brrr) and although you can wear tights with pointy flats and they would look absolutely fine I think you are still a bit at the mercy of the weather, I'd probably go with black boots but you'd need to experiment to see which of those options you are comfortable with.

mmmm25 · 10/02/2019 09:54

Definitely replace with a black cardigan. Otherwise looks fine as it is.

BusterGonad · 10/02/2019 10:00

I think ballet flats might make it too twee looking, you either need boots, heels or pointy flats. I would also say ditch the scarf and maybe go for a leather jacket or possibly a blazer but it needs to be the right style of blazer, but the cardigan looks fine also! Cute dress.

ivykaty44 · 10/02/2019 10:01

I think ballet flats will not do the dress or your legs any favours - high will look fabulous

Ditch the cardi

I love that dress! Fab look. I agree that dressing down with a denim or leather jacket then shoes don't matter as much.

I liked those green shoes you posted but they would still look a little twee with the dress and cardigan.

Good luck on your date 😀

Nanna50 · 10/02/2019 10:33

Without spending money I would just swap the cardigan for the denim jacket and keep the heels.

I would try ankle boots or the shoes you linked to @ next but that's only because I'm not a fan of ballet flats.

BusterGonad · 10/02/2019 10:54

Yep, denim jacket and heels. Very 50s combo that would look great x

BusterGonad · 10/02/2019 10:57

In regards to nerves, put a bright lipstick on and strut your stuff. Your outfit is fab and I'm sure they will be knocked off if there feet!

Justme1981 · 10/02/2019 12:46

Thanks everyone, melongoose i love those shoes!!!
Right, im going denim jacket & heels - bright pink ones if they arrive in time!! At least if the date is rubbish i will look good!! 🤷‍♀️
Thank you to everyone who has sent good luck wishes ☺
