Why are my bras going this to me (pictures attached)

My bras are so uncomfortable! They dig in and make awful marks around me.

I ve been fitted by bravissimo and wear fantasie bras. They are a 34G and I’m a size 18.

They are cutting in and giving me sores. I itch along the redness during the day.

Whenever I mention about having a 36 band instead they always say it’s too big for me. I can turn the bra around on me on the 34s that I have.

Surely bras are not suppose to make this much redness on you?

I also love a Freya deco.

I think the bravissimo fitting method works much better if you're slim with big boobs. I used to find it quite comfy but now I've got more ahem, squish, I find the level of digging in they expect you to put up with to have a "properly supportive" band agonising!

I'm a size 10 and wear a 36. it's really very simple - that size is too small for you, as would a 36 be in all likelihood! Doesn't matter what a shop measures you as, if it leaves any mark it ain't right!

Ollivander84 · 27/01/2019 00:19

Red marks, like sock/jeans marks are fine but not welts/bleeding etc! It's going to leave some marks as it's on your body, elastic and needs to fit firmly

@peachypetite You need an intervention!

Tippexy · 27/01/2019 00:28

@ginyogarepeat You desperately need an intervention!

Tippexy · 27/01/2019 00:30

@autumngold6 You need an intervention too, you don’t actually add 4. If you measure 36 around your back then that’s your bra band size Smile

peachypetite · 27/01/2019 01:22

I really don't.

Tippexy · 27/01/2019 01:42

If you wear size 10-12 clothes, there’s absolutely no way your underbust measurement is 34 inches @peachypetite Smile

Millionsofthings · 27/01/2019 01:42

Another 34 G here... I have big but also saggy boobs so really need some good scaffolding!!

Tried the lot and best ones for me is triumph ammorettie and the Miss Mary ones which have some with thicker and padded shoulders straps which are bliss!

ginyogarepeat · 27/01/2019 08:40

Thanks but I don't.

treaclesoda · 27/01/2019 08:45

I'm size 18 and I haven't been officially measured for a long time, but size 40D fits me best. I find it a bit hard to believe that a size beginning with 34 could ever be comfortable on someone who is roughly the same size as me.

I'm a size 16 and even a 32 sometimes rides up at the back on me. I have one bra that's a size 30HH and whilst it's not my favourite bra, it's not uncomfortable either. They're very stretchy.

Ollivander84 · 27/01/2019 10:54

The thing is, think about it this way for an example
Let's say you're a 26 inch waist, and you wear a 36 band. Moving up from your waist, your underbust is 10 inches bigger?!
If you can pull the band out more than an inch, it's not really doing anything
But it depends if you want your bras to just cover your boobs, or support/lift/separate etc

Tanaqui · 27/01/2019 11:15

I’m a 10-12 and I definitely measure 34 under the bust- sometimes more like 35! We aren’t all built the same. I like a triumph amourette in a 34D. But I’m deep front to back, not broad side to side.

Btw, does anyone know why so many D cup (and above!) bras are padded? I really don’t need the extra layer!!

Aridane · 27/01/2019 11:15

Bravissimo/ trained Bravissimo staff can go a bit overboard in forcing you into an over small back size

ThatLibraryMiss · 28/01/2019 20:34

I've had good luck using the Reddit A Bra That Fits guide to figure out the size. Curvy Kate unpadded plunge bras work best for me (but not the Lifestyle ones).
